During our K-1 visa, when, my now wife got to the interview, """THE""" biggest issue they wanted to see was pictures, when.,.,where, who else was there, date, who was the pictures,.,.,,then they looked at the passport pics..,.,,., so just something to think about!

My fiance and I knew each other for a year and five months before I filed the I-129f. But after eleven months of chatting, we met in Mexico for real. But it was about six months after the meeting before I applied. We were trying to figure what the best process would be and we researched it a lot before we decided to start the K-1 process.

My husband and I do not have a typical timeline amongst K-1 filers. We were together for 10 years before filing. We had kind of the opposite situation as someone that just recently met and filed, as the CO asked my husband why we had waited so long. Understandable question though, and no problem answering it.

Timeline

I met my fiancé in 2009. We communicated via Facebook and Skype off and on for a few years. Eventually in 2012 we decided to give it a go. We started consistent communication in Feb 2012, I visited a month in summer 2012, and we filed August 2012.

As for when I returned to see my fiancé, I was fortunate that I could return last Christmas and the summer of 2013. I knew I wouldn't be allowed to go into the interview with him, so rather than planning to go during the interview, I picked other times to continue building our case. It just so happens that he interviews this Wednesday (we were given a two week notice), and I'll arrive in Egypt on Sunday after the interview. Hopefully, we will be celebrating! With you, another visit in February will definitely strengthen your case, but I do understand the desire to be present when he interviews as well.

i notice most relations here met online (internet) and i think its not real relation to meet someone on internet, its why immigration ask this question ; " how and where did u meet"?

which is precisely why they made it a requirement that the couple met IN PERSON within 2 years of filing the k1 petition. yes?

--

to answer the op, my fiance was my friend for over a year before we started our relationship. we were a couple for 2 years before we filed.. so I knew him a little over 3 years

We had known each other for several years prior to filing, but we hadn't met in person for a long time. I went to Brasil for 1 week then filed the paperwork when I returned. The process was taking too long for me, so I went back for 1 month, and we got the NOA2 email while I was there. As USCIS had no idea that I was there for a visit, we were basically approved with just the requirement of meeting in person. At that meeting, we took lots of pictures so we could have something to send with our initial paperwork, but other than emails and Skype logs we didn't have a lot of evidence. We were approved with no problem. I started to get concerned that maybe the consulate would frown on us only having spent a week together in the last several years, so I went back for that 1 month visit so we could provide more evidence at the interview. I was not able to be at the interview, but it wasn't a problem. Lately, I have been seeing more "pre-approvals" in Brasil where the IO says that everything looks good so he will preapprove pending the fiance come to the next interview. I would definitely recommend another visit. Depending on your work schedule, it might be good to schedule that visit at the same time as the interview so that you can attend together. Good luck!

I think this is a near-record but my now-wife and I first met 15 years before we filed our I-129F. We met long ago, dated long-distance for a while, lost contact and re-connected in person about 7 months before we submitted our I-129F with two subsequent meetings before we filed.

Met online Jan 2013, in person April 2013.....I won't be filing a thing until we make it past the one year mark in April 2014. We both agreed on this because we wanted a long engagement/get to know you period. May or may not visit again before filing but hopefully will afterwards. We also didn't take many pics because our plan was for me to move there, I got a job and everything and then safety went to hell so we switched plans. I think proof of ongoing relationship is big as well, phone, chat, stuff sent to each other in the mail, etc along with pics.
