Can my fiance's interview be scheduled inside the US?

This may be a dumb question but I would like to know if my fiance's interview can be scheduled within the US if he is visiting on a tourist visa. We have our approval but are running out of time for our deadline. He still does not have his medical or fingerprints and I am working on our affidavit of support with our cosponsor. We also could use more time to come up with the money for his fees. He is ready to leave the country he is in and it would be great if he could come visit me and our son instead of having to go back to his home country while we take a little extra time to get everything done. Is it possible for him to interview at an embassy here or does this have to be done outside the country?

As far as I know you can't get a visa to a country you are already in. You could just adjust status now on a tourist visa by getting married filing AOS.

No he would have to interview in his country. Is he already here on tourist Visa or was he hoping to apply for one? To get a tourist Visa while you're petition is in process coming from an African country is very slim? Has he been able to get a visa since you started this process? But your original answer is no he has to interview in the country he resides.

He is living in Korea and was already able to get a tourist visa from there. He came to visit for a little over a month when our son was born. His tourist visa is multiple entry and has time left on it, so he could come visit again. I would love for him just to come on a tourist visa and get married, but I don't think that's possible. I guess he could come visit, then leave again for his interview, but that would involve a lot more money.

K1 interviews are done at the embassy/consulate where the intending immigrant resides. There are no US embassies or consulates within the US.

If the petition will expire before you think you will be able to get the fees, co-sponsor, medical, etc. done, then contact the consulate about getting an extension.

would 1000 dollars fix this, really ?

Also, would 1000 dollars fix this?

or, would 1000 dollars get him INTO his 'home country', pay for his medical fees, pay for his visa fee..

or not ?

if the answer is yes, then by all means, ask the IV unit to extend the validity of duration on the approval. They can, if'n you ask nicely.

Then get 1000 bucks put together, and spread it in the right places.

Good Luck ! (My apologies for seeming repetitive, but I wanted you to focus for a moment)

No

We have our approval but are running out of time for our deadline.

Are you referencing the expiration date on the petition? If so, the Embassy has the ability to automatically re-validate the petition if an interview has not yet taken place.
