  1. Considering how important the ceremony is to you (and there's nothing wrong with that), I would recommend choosing one of two ways for you to move forward:

    1.  Go the CR-1 route.  Have the big, celebratory wedding with family and friends.  Then, you start the CR-1 process and wait to be reunited.

    2.  Go the K1 route.  Once your fiancee gets here, have a small wedding.  Once she is able to travel out of the country, go back to her country and have the big, celebratory wedding with family and friends.

    Just my suggestions.

    Good luck.

  2. USCIS is not pressured by congress to improve.  Congress has no reason to pressure USCIS because their constituents don't care about, or know anything about,  legal immigration.  Legal immigration is simply not a priority. Honestly, most of us knew almost nothing about legal immigration before we started this. It never even crossed our minds. Legal immigration certainly never makes the news.  And I really don't think any of this is going to change.

Usually the media talks to the criminal's family, so we can hear what a great guy they were.  It's nice that the Houston media went to the effort to find the other victim's family and get their response.

  4. I don't think there is a problem questioning the number of shots, or questioning that last shot.  I would hope that, if I were in that situation,  I would be able to know when to stop shooting.  In my opinion, he definitely could have stopped shooting once he saw that the guy no longer had the gun in his possession.  But, I also can't imagine what it's like to really be in that situation.  I guess I would choose to give the benefit of the doubt to the guy who was being robbed, not to the robber.  I am also a little concerned about him leaving the scene.  If I remember my CCL training, in that situation we should call our lawyer, the cops, and an ambulance.  Then we sit and wait for the cops to show up.  But I don't know if that's a legal requirement or just something that is recommended.

I saw a longer video that shows that, after the shooting, the guy realizes that the bad guy didn't even have a real gun.  He ends up throwing it across the restaurant in anger.  For some reason, that was encouraging to me.  He wasn't excited or happy about killing a criminal.  He was angry about the whole situation.

And disparage MAGA all you want (which means disparage me all you want; go for it I care not) but it is only because of MAGA we are even talking about the GOP having any chance in 2024.  Remember that DeSantis is a creation of MAGA.

I have no idea what anyone means when they refer to "MAGA" or "MAGA Republicans".  To me, MAGA is simply a slogan, similar to the one used by DeSantis.  I have no issue with anyone who voted for Trump especially considering I voted for Trump this last time.  I don't understand the Trump worshipers just like I don't understand those with Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Some could argue that the only reason we have a President Biden is because of Trump's negative qualities.  Trump would have been an almost perfect President if he would have focused on policy and got rid of the juvenile behavior.

Exactly what problems for the country did he cause?

When you are the leader of the country, being an arrogant jerk 99% of the time is going to have a negative effect on the country.  Yes, he was quite often right on policy but his personality and lack of maturity was embarrassing.

Honestly, what President gets upset about what SNL says about them?

Some say without showing before and after screen shots, that updated count totals are breaking at least 3 to 1 for GOP.  If so, both Lake and Masters have solid paths to victory because there are over 600,000 votes left to count (per https://apps.arizona.vote/info/bps/2022-general-election/33/0 which appears to maintained by Katie Hobbs herself).

I’ve taken before screen shots just now and when there are updated totals, I will share my before and after screenshots and either break our hearts or give hope. Given the glacial pace (expected since Hobbs is cold blooded and a cold front moved in last night) of counting, I was xorct to update y’all in December

I remember watching the Arizona senate debate and Masters did really well.  He was much better than Kelly.  Plus, with the Libertarian candidate endorsing him I would think that Masters would have a solid chance at winning.  Of course, I watched the Pennsylvania debate and I still can't believe how that turned out.

    Name two.

    Pick your two:

Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, or Tim Scott.  I'd even consider Chris Christie, Dan Crenshaw, Mike Pence, or Mike Pompeo.

There are a lot of good, intelligent people who are qualified to be President who wouldn't embarrass us on a daily basis and aren't about to turn 80.  There are even some on the Democratic side that fit that description.

  9. Just too much Trump worship in that article for me.

I don't like Trump.  I will never like Trump.  In my opinion, Trump cares only about Trump.  He was President, he did a good job but he was incredibly divisive and, for all the good he did, he caused just as many unnecessary problems.  I voted for him once, but I don't want to be put in that position again.

I think there are other people out there who can do just as good of a job without embarrassing the office.

Here's the question I have:  If DeSantis and Trump both run, I'm sure DeSantis would support Trump if he was chosen as the nominee.  Would Trump support DeSantis if he were the nominee?  Honestly, I have no confidence that Trump would support anybody else except himself.

I base my vote on POLICY, not personality.   Maybe it's time for people think past the end of their noses. Maybe it's time for people to realize that Biden and the dems have caused our inflation crisis, border crisis, crime crisis.

No disagreement but...it looks like a celebrity senate candidate lost to a guy who might actually be mentally impaired.  It doesn't do any good to just get angry at the stupidity of the voters.  It is more helpful to try to figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen again.

  11. As was posted earlier, I would want around 4 hours minimum between flights in LA.  LAX is huge and if you haven't been there before it can be confusing.

Being an OFW can be just as rough as she's telling you.  Also, the power outages could also be true.  If you visit her home, which I recommend, you will probably get a better understanding of things.

BTW, I really hope this works out for you.  My first trip there was great and I hope yours is the same.

Also, if things move in a positive direction, you will at one point want to have a serious discussion about family finances.

I will have to research this more. When I did a few searches to get to LA I could not really find a good arrival time to than catch the flight to Manila without some long layover in LA. I will have to research more and go to the airlines sites directly. Expedia and some of these other sites seem to have issues finding all available flights I have noticed and each site varies on what they find. I would like a direct flight as your right I would not feel to comfortable in international airports. I have been finding flights that go thru Seoul Korea for about 1500.00 (even a few at 1200.00) and about 24-26 hour time frames.

How short of a layover are you wanting in LA? In my opinion, you are putting too much importance on avoiding a long layover in LA.  You need time to move from one terminal to the other.  You need to land in LA and get your luggage.  You need to go to the international terminal,  check in, go through all the security process and then make your way to the correct gate.  Do not try to book your flights too close together.  You'd rather spend time waiting for your flight than miss your flight because you didn't give yourself enough time between flights.

Also remember that Southwest doesn't show up on the travel sites.  You have to go to their site.

  13. Here is how we travel.  We book on Southwest and fly to LA and then we book on Philippine Airlines to Manila.

Assuming your flying out of Minneapolis, you can find round trip tickets to LA for just over $300.  This will have one stop where you have to change planes but I don't see an easier option.  You can arrive at LA around 6 pm leaving plenty of time to get to the international terminal in time for the overnight flight to Manila.  You can book a flight on Philippine Airlines, nonstop from LA to Manila for about $1500 roundtrip.

This is probably the quickest way to get there and you don't have to find your way around international airports if you're not comfortable with that.  We always go direct to the airline websites, Southwest and Philippine Airlines, I don't know if you get a better deal through other sites.
