  1. Not seen that, did they say anything else, do you have any inkling what they could be referring to.
  2. It is not really the Laws, there are no shortage of laws, it is how they are enacted, you can have the best Laws passed (not going to happen) but if they are implemented badly it matters not a jot. I 751 seems pointless, I can count the number of failed caes I have seen on one hand. Logically the thing would be to do away with it. I am not sure if that is legally possible, now they could just make it an automatic process and have it done in a week.
  3. Lawyers make mistakes. NGOs make even bigger ones. Just be methodical, and then double check everything. I have helped friends, explained the whys, the biggest thing I had to get over is not to overthink it.
  4. At least you have evidence you sent something.
  5. As others have said you can certainly try but I would not get my hopes up.
  6. You can file new I 485s, and apply for EAD and AP.
  7. We simply do not have the information and I seriously doubt NATO forces will be involved. I see no one interested, Russia has managed the casualties by focussing on recruiting from their minority areas, not sure if this will eventually backfire.
  8. I was asked for a recent photo, normally London is pretty simple. I self sponsored so I did have to deal with the I 134.
  9. But that is just part of the process, I know CDJ has loooong waits and Hungary will most likely be quicker. None of us are prescient, well if I was I would be doing the Lottery or heading for Las Vegas, so my guess is 18 months for simple cases at 'normal' Consulates up to 24 months elsewhere.
  10. I am not sure they have to, and I see no desire to, much more politically acceptable to be the quartermaster. I mentioned France more as a guide to how long this can last and obviously the casualties there were many factors higher. Obviously there have been significant losses, most of the coverage has been of Russian losses but defies logic to think that Ukranian lossed have not been significant. From a practical perspective it is much cheaper to resupply, I suppose that has a comparability with the ME as Iran causes a lot of issues without seriously impacting its economy. I have yet to watch yesterdays, I am sure it is excellent and covers this far better than I can.
  11. Ukraine has the same sort of population as France did in 1914. I think they are different in that I can envisage a solution in Ukraine, political not military, but cannot in ME.
  12. I am not sure anyone can answer that all you can do is apply and see. I can think of a few potential issues but they would very much depend on the circumstances.
  13. USCIS do not do IR 1 interviews, she is applying for an immigrant visa and by definition they are undertaken at a Consulate which are outside the US. Travelling for business for 6 months is unusual and may raise questions.
  14. Yep he would have got residency and then could have gone for Citizenship. I assume he still can. Was there not a jihadi bride in the same situation? We have had a few cases where we have had Iranian members who were born elsewhere having issues because they are Iranian, one got really upset and seemed to think not having a passport was relevant.
  15. Yes it is free. He can carry on working on his J1 for as long as it is valid.
  16. What have you done so far to ensure you meet US requirements?
  17. Most CRBA's are fairly obvious, yes you do qualify, some you do not. I do not think there is a set procedure, requirement for them to say yes or no then and there. I certainly have seen a response that you do not have enough here please send more. I do not know what they keep, not sure I have seen that mentioned, or I took notice.
  18. There is one of them in Boulder and no doubt elsewhere but always found it a bit tacky and some stuff you want fresh.
  19. There are some very unusual exceptions but your country of birth is the usual one.
  20. If memory serves me right it does not take into account Housing, which is an ever increasing percentage. I am no expert but this is why we see quite a few cases where people are on food stamps, medicaid etc. but comfortably meet the income needs The other reason is because of the figures they use, I know quite a few people who are self employed and their income is sort of fungible in that there are no end of expense they can deduct. I am not knocking btw, or if you are involved in renting property. And then of course there is quite a large under the table industry. The best paid person at your local Restaurant is probably the waitress, I assume it is a lot harder to hide tips now that most transactions are on a Card. A bar I occasionally frequent just charges the list price if you pay in cash and cash tips are very welcome.
  21. https://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/?i=336546 It is that time of year and I have been here long enough to let most things go, obviously not HP sauce and the odd jar of Branston, but somehow I am more inclined to stock up now, Christmas Pudding, Mince Pies etc, and some decent chocolate of course. Now the prices make me wince, probably because I am remembering prices from years ago. So the link is above to the one I use, is there anything other people feel the need to special order?
  22. You might have trouble finding a Civil Surgeon who will just do the Vaccination and not the full Medical, you need to be clear what you need as this is not usual.
  23. You said in your first post that you have not adopted the child but have guardianship.
