  1. @Rachel n Tyler I agree with this too. We did a cover letter listing (which we printed off and uploaded online) what our evidence consisted of and on it we also explained for any evidence we didn't have the reason why. The ISO never said anything to us about this but as @Edward and Jaycel said, if they do ask you then just explain to them the reason why you haven't been able to provide it.
  2. I would advise you to get married as soon as you can (as you then have to wait a week or 2 for the marriage certificate to be ready - well at least in California that's how long it took) and like @TBoneTX said to get multiple copies of the marriage certificate (we got 5). I would also say file to the AOS initially with the strongest case you possibly can within the 90 days. You can then print off and upload additional evidence in between the AOS filing and the interview (if scheduled one). This is what we submitted initially for evidence along with the AOS paperwork as follows:- Petitioner (US Citizen) - Proof of US Citizenship (US Passport), Birth Certificate, Most recent federal tax returns, W2's, 1099's, 3 recent pay stubs and 2 passport style colour photographs Beneficiary - Passport, Birth Certificate, K1 Visa in passport, DS 3025 Vaccination Worksheet (I didn't need to do a new medical exam as I had all required vaccinations at my medical in London last year and my medical was marked as complete so I just provided this and a cover letter explaining this as well), passport style colour photographs, Marriage Certificate, Marriage Proofs - (these can be for example pictures of you both and with family and friends, joint bank accounts, lease agreement, joint health insurance, etc) and SSN and I-94. **PLEASE NOTE** - All of what we provided in terms of evidence in this filing apart from the passport style colour photographs were copies that were either printed off or scanned and then printed off. There are also guides on VJ and online if you want to look into those and what you need as well.
  3. It has only been 5 months since you filed though? Which is below the average wait time of 6-8 months that you quoted. Also I wouldn't take any notice of the USCIS timeline estimation. If you go to the Processing Times section on VJ and then Adjustment of Status Processing times, you can then filter by K1 Visa, the relevant USCIS Field Office, etc (or filter the data how you want) and see if there are any recent timelines on there for your Field Office and see if you can determine an average from when the AOS was filed and when they got a decision.
  4. Just wanted to add this but OP were there any other issues that were of concern to the Consular Officer? It sounds like there was more to this than just the NOA2 validity date.
  5. When I had my K1 visa interview I took a signed statement of intent to marry each from me and my fiancee at the time (now my wife) to re validate and extend the petition. As my interview was just over a month after petition expired and I didn't want to assume that it would be automatically extended (I was also advised that embassies don't always automatically extend petitions and to take the signed statements of intent to marry from us both as well). The officer re validated and extended the petition at the interview after I gave her these.
  6. This is what I was told by the ISO for my AOS interview as well in terms of the 24 hours between what they do on their system and receiving the notification on the portal. 40 minutes is quick though - mine was about an hour and a half
  7. What country are you shipping from?
  8. I was always advised to wait about 2 weeks after arriving before going to the SSA to apply for a SSN so it allows time for all the relevant systems to sync and update, etc. My appointment was just over 2 weeks after arriving in the USA.
  9. Upload any new evidence since filing the AOS. Take copies of initial evidence and additional evidence since filing with you to your interview. I uploaded additional evidence 1-2 days before my interview. During the interview the ISO did say that she noticed that I had uploaded it and that they had looked it as well.
  10. I filed for the I-131 just in case and it got approved about a month and a half after filing along with the I-765 so I got an EAD/AP combo card for it. My AOS interview was about a month after the EAD/AP combo card approval
  11. Thank you for the update. Glad they were able to help your fiance with this
  12. This isn't something I'm familiar with as when I did the process and had my interview last August the documents were checked on the same day but looking online it seems that you need a new interview appointment scheduled if you didn't attend the document review. You could contact the embassy but looking at your timeline it looks like the interview is today so he wouldn't get a response in time. I am interested to know what the result of this situation was though. Keep us posted.
  13. Yeah I would as well if I was in that situation
  14. Personally I wouldn't travel until I had the green card physically in hand. When we went to Wyoming last month I used the EAD to travel (as it's a form of Real ID) but that was the week before the week of my AOS interview and the approval. I received the green card around 12 days after my interview.
  15. My wife was at the SSA yesterday for an appointment so she asked on my behalf and she got told that I needed to book an appointment to update the SSN card. So I rang the local SSA office and booked an appointment for in 3 weeks time.
  16. Just curious here but did you get the USCIS notification to say she was approved or is this based on them verbally saying she was approved?
