In my case I applied for both the EAD and AP and I got them approved about a month and half after filing (this timeline is factoring in receipt of my AOS package and my biometrics as well). I received the EAD/AP combo card about a week after the approval. I needed the EAD in order to apply for a State Driving License and State ID. The EAD also served as a form of Real ID which I used to go on honeymoon (I have applied for a Real ID State Driving License but I have my test later this month).

Aha it was very good. Definitely go when you get the chance!

Hi all, Just giving you an update on the honeymoon to Wyoming. We had such an amazing time there! The scenery and wildlife was fantastic. We got to see Moose, Elk, Deer, Pronghorns, Bison, Pikas, Chipmunks, Canadian Geese, Bald Eagle, Black Bears and a Grizzly Bear. We saw young Moose, Bison and Black Bears as well. We spent our time equally in Jackson and just outside of it, Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Jackson has that old western town feel. The food was great, the shops were great and activities such as the Cowboy Coaster and Horse Riding were so good and a lot of fun. We also went to the Jackson Rodeo one night - this was my first time ever going to a rodeo and such a great experience. I definitely would go to another rodeo again. The food there was really good as well. I had a Cowboy Potato which had butter, cheese, pulled pork and bbq sauce on it. Grand Teton National Park is very mountainous and open and we saw a lot of wildlife here. We saw sights such as Mormon Row, Elk Ranch Flats, Oxbow Bend and Jenny Lake. We did a Grand Teton Morning Safari and Snake River Float as well here. Yellowstone National Park is mainly forest. We saw a good amount of wildlife here as well. We saw sights such as Old Faithful, Old Faithful Inn and Mammoth Hot Springs. We enjoyed both National Parks equally. We felt they were both different but amazing in their own way. I would definitely recommend Wyoming for people to go and visit on holiday!

I didn't get an update that said Ready to Schedule Interview but my interview got scheduled just over a week after my Biometrics appointment. I got a notification by email for my USCIS account and when I logged into my account in the documents tab for the I-485 there was a PDF of the letter there. The letter was received not long after that.

I received my visa 5 days after my interview. I would definitely check some of the reviews and timelines of other UK VJ members to get an idea of how long it takes

I applied for AP and it got approved the same time along with my EAD so I now have an EAD/AP combo card. I'm not sure how common that is but just wanted to let you know that is what happened in my case. You can always try applying for the AP though

Had my State ID arrive in the post last week while I was on holiday in Wyoming. Going to the bank that my wife uses today to finally open a bank account. Got my driving test later this month so hopefully if I pass that then I can get my State Driving License as well.

I wish I only needed that to set up one haha The provider my wife has for her bank accounts requires either a State Driving License or a State ID and a Member Application form to set up an account

Yeah I have just applied for a State Driving License and State ID after getting my EAD/AP combo card. I decided to get the State ID so I can set up a bank account for me and joint account with my wife as well

My interview was about 6 weeks after my medical but that's only because it took me a while to find an available appointment online (I was checking every day as well). This wasn't too bad though as it allowed me to get my Covid vaccine in that time before they sent my medical file to the embassy. If you can book them closer together then that would be better as it gives you more time to sort things out before travelling to the USA. I think it was advised that you should have at least 10 working days between the medical and interview but this could have changed since then.

Apologies Lee, I already thought you had an SSN already from our conversations . I got told at my local SSA office that it takes 2-4 weeks as well. Mine took about 3 weeks to arrive.

I agree with this and would advise the OP to do this as well if they haven't got a copy of it already
