  1. I agree...if you can live that time without his income. But you'll have to decide at some point, if you're both going to stay in the US and give up your house etc in Belgium. Even as greencard holder he can only be outside the US for a certain amount of time
  2. Exactly what I did, I submitted everything they would ask for at the interview- that way they already have everything on their desk👍
  3. Today followed by text message with case number 😀

  9. Oh, nevermind: i looked at my AOS application- same question.....so I repeated my answer from that one😉
  10. Filling out Form N-400 and might have a silly question 🤔 : in part 12 additional info 9. " have you ever been member of..involved in...part of...etc - do I have to list membership in a sports team ( volleyball when I was a teenager) ????????

  12. I'm just not a computer geek🤣🤣and I already made all the copies and stuff🤷‍♀️so yeah, good old mail for the last time, hopefully
  13. Joining the May filers- I'm preparing to apply next week! Old-school by mail😉
  14. I did all printouts in black, too.As long as they're not blurry it is perfectly fine 👌
  15. I make copies at home....and to get several birth certificates, of course I paid for that- that's normal- everywhere, in every country. Noone asked us immigrants to get here- we chose to move to the US. You want something from this country, not the other way around- so you ( in general, every immigrant) need to 1) do your homework BEFORE you get here ,2)need to adapt and 3) yes, pay for the service you need to use in order to be granted any type of visa. That's how it works, in any developed country. No country rolls out the red carpet for you, bringing a marching band and x amount of $ as welcome bonus for you 🤣🤣🤣
  16. What information to be verified by online databases? That can be accessed/hacked by everyone?you don't pay fees , just so they print papers......I'm sorry, but what you say in your posts is pretty much baseless
  17. If it is so bad here, like you say......makes me wonder, why you chose to get here....🤔
  18. There are immigrants in congress, they know and they care - but like others already said: they can't agree on something enough, to get the necessary votes to make changes in laws.unfortunately. But , to give the current administration credit, they changed already several things- sign up for uscis news/ changes or go on their homepage every once in a while😉
  19. You pay for a complex paperwork that more than 1 person is working on and takes a lot of time. It's not like you're applying for a library card - it is so much more and those are well trained people who need to apply all legal rules, laws and so on. Plus, the us is a really huge country with a gazillion of applications- it sucks for everyone going through the process - but it takes time 🤷‍♀️
  20. True. like I said, I was talking about a traffic stop- not actual border protection stop😉
  21. Depends on the state you're living in, too: in California the officer isn't allowed to ask for your immigration status during a traffic stop.
