Regarding visa overstays, I wonder what the precise letter of the law is regarding deportability. Makes one wonder whether ICE is under pressure (or order) for numbers, because people visiting USCIS offices are metaphorically low-hanging fruit and probably not who ordinary Americans would prioritize for deportation.

Hmm. The article says "During the appointment..." and "they were getting everything signed off." Was she getting signed in? Was she in her actual interview? Was she getting signed out after the interview? If the first, perhaps she's still technically detainable and deportable; if either of the latter, it would seem that she'd be under the USCIS umbrella.

9700+ Arrests for Online Posts in UK Last Year Newly revealed data shows that nearly 10,000 British citizens were arrested last year for social media posts. And since multiple police jurisdictions did not share data, the number is actually probably much higher. The UK Daily Mail reported "shocking numbers" last week after obtaining data from 39 out of 45 police jurisdictions in the United Kingdom. This shows 9,700 arrests last year for social media posts, and 13,800 arrests the previous year.
