  1. Good luck during a challenging time. You will survive it.
  2. Not Russian, but still... https://ifunny.co/picture/will-a-latina-be-the-death-of-you-si-yes-GlSeRN628?s=cl
  3. The above post is split from this now-closed old thread: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/112070-my-wife-left-me/ Nick, not a R/U/B type here, but great to see someone from my VJ era! Another thread of great previous input and hilarity is this one: Read through it to enjoy posts from old members, and maybe you'll find information for your current situation. Others here now will almost certainly respond.
  4. A recent post has been split from this now-closed old thread into its own topic in the RUB forum.
  5. Wednesday! Time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: ==================================== PUNS & FUNNY ONES "I have many hidden talents." "Like what?" "I don't know; they're all hidden." Eyelashes are supposed to prevent things from going into your eyes... but whenever I have something in my eye, it's an eyelash. That's eyeronic. My wife called to tell me that she saw a fox on the way to work. I asked her how she knew that it was on its way to work. She hung up on me. Someone just accused me of plagiarism. Their words, not mine. "I'll never forget his last inspiration words: 'Be positive!'" "Tragic, really; he died because no one knew his blood type." Singing in the shower is all fun and games until you get shampoo in your mouth. Then it becomes a soap opera. The first rule of being passive-aggressive is... You know what. Never mind. It's FINE. I'm not short; I'm just more down-to-earth than most people. What do you call somebody who has no body and no nose? Nobody knows. We have made a change. Helen Wait is now our service manager. If you need service, please go to Helen Wait. "Nurse, how is that little girl doing who swallowed ten quarters last night?" "No change yet, Doctor." I love the phrase "bear with me" because it means either "be patient" or "the zoo burglary was a success." I went to McDonalds today and ate a Kid's Meal. It was good, but his mom was furious. I can't believe that viruses and bacteria would invade my body without permission. That makes me sick.
  6. Wonderful -- you both must be feeling on top of the world!
  7. Thread is moved from the Work Visas forum to the Current Events forum, where similar topics are discussed.
  8. [sounds of hearty applause from everyone on VJ -- someone has her act together here]
  9. You're welcome, and of course we stand ready to advise you during further steps of the process.
  10. Yee-HAAAAA*! *that's Texan for "jolly good" or whatever is said over there
  11. 2welve, people here are trying to be kind while also being frank. Let me hit you between the eyes, and hopefully in the brain: With all the wonderful, loving, kind, available men in the world, this is the one you want to marry?
  12. People worked really hard to create this document. Wow. Fascinating document, but irritating that they included no page numbers. I'm impressed that they spelled "forgo" and "forgone" correctly throughout. Things become very interesting somewhat after midpoint, with Tables of AOS-approval statistics. Many of those are worth clipping & saving, for the statistically minded. If you can search, search for the superscript 151 (footnote/reference). That's around where these start.
  13. Warnings to the general air: Things can go swimmingly well during the e-mail/video/phone-call segment of a potential relationship, but the chemistry can be quite the opposite in person. There's also "marry in haste, repent in leisure." There's also the issue of whether one would choose to associate with -- let alone marry -- a fellow countryman who had any kind of criminal record, let alone one longer than his/her arm. But these are warnings to the general air.
  14. This is quite touching. I respect the dude. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ John Fetterman: I saved a teenager from jumping off a bridge Senator John Fetterman was driving near his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, when he saw a teenager leaning under the Westinghouse Bridge. "That kid was literally on the rail and was ready to jump," he says. Fetterman, who has written candidly about his own battles with suicidal thoughts and depression in his new memoir, Unfettered, knew he had to act. But when he parked his car on August 16 this year, he hesitated at first. [...] https://www.thetimes.com/us/news-today/article/john-fetterman-fall-hospital-book-condition-3xfw000nv
  15. Scintillating Tuesday repartee, yawn man. ----- Thrilling (?) Tuesday report, see man: Took HSM but still got ~1 hour of zzz, this must end man. Breakfasted/skoolbused Mini-B., groggy Two Guys man. Returned for siesta #1 and actually dozed a little, semi-zzz we man. As soon as we arose, Mama T-B. called, aysheep senior she man. She aysheeped about complete hearsay from completely clueless hospice idiots, we man. We called an administratrix at the hospice outfit, engaged/concerned she man. She will come to Mama T-B.'s facility on Wednesday, caucus with us and berate idiots she man. This chica and the Nigerian nooser are the only two hospice people worth a poop, conclude and we man. So after this delay of 2 hours, we planned our day, several items man. Lunch was 2 bagels + margarine, ingest we man. Then, Uncle T-B. called, aysheep senior he man. He aysheeped that he was nearly out of one of his blood-pressure pills, aysheep senior he man man. "I have only Many (2+2+2) of them left and I'll have a heart attack, bye man," man. The pharmacy phone line rang twice and then cut off, Many tries and we man. We learned via another source that Many00 pills were Rx'd in Manytember, research we man. Uncle T-B. should have had far more than just Many pills remaining, cipher we man. We ran an errand for Mini-B., run we man. We stopped to feed mini-miu, little orange boy mini-miu man. Mini-miu was out of food but wasn't hungry, wanted to play man. We tossed a little fluffy ball at him, toss we man. Mini-miu grabbed it by mouth, dropped it by some vertical blinds, and batted it all around, loud racket man. We regretfully had to leave while mini-miu still wanted to play, man. Siesta #2 was a waste even without Uncle T-B.'s two more phone calls, voice-mailed by we man man. Mini-B. came from skool around when we up-gave on the siesta, quiet wee man man. We said that we were going to help Uncle T-B., unenthusiastic we man. We had to answer 2 texts from Uncle T-B.'s amigo to whom he'd complained, we man. We left for Uncle T-B.'s precisely during skoolzone traffic/speed limits, man. We'll never fathom why skoolzone speeds remain in effect long after no stoodents are in sight, man. Uncle T-B. had not Many (2+2+2) but instead Many (2x2x2x2) pills left, man. This was a Many-day ([2x2x2]-day) supply, no need to go aysheep man. We went in person to pharmacy, personal we man. Pharmacy was waiting to get enough pills to fill full Rx, just wait a day or two man. They gave us enough for another Many (2+2+1) days, their entire inventory man. We brought these back to Uncle T-B., grateful senior he man man. On way to casa in home-from-work traffic, stopped at BK, din-din time man. Din-din was 2 Whoppers* + 2 small fries, ingest Two Guys man. *bought WUOC, F$WM Mama T-B. then called with another aysheep issue, champion worrier senior she man man. We finally got HOA Property Improvement form completed and sent, of course after hours man. We applied for a color variance, want brighter than their choices man. Who knows if they'll approve it, be stuck with boring choices then we man. Hospice administratrix will visit between Many & Many a.m., almost crack of dawn man. We are to be there taking copious notes, orders from Mama T-B. man. Movie night was the penultimate Better Call Saul episode, watch Two Guys man. Many (2+1) bowls of Costco popcorn were consumed, ingest Two Guys man. This makes Many (2x2x2 +2) bowls for the week, quota already achieved man. We saved final episode for Wednesday night, why rush finality man. Mini-B. actually embedded himself at a reasonable-for-him hour, zzz wee man man. We see little purpose in embedding ourself, just squirm there in pain man. No party with the rubias, no cavort we man. Caucus with hospice and visit with Mama T-B. on Wednesday, obligated we man. And that was/is our thrilling (?) Tuesday, report we man.
  16. CULTURAL AWARENESS, FRENCH STYLE The French government announced today that it is imposing a ban on the use of fireworks at EuroDisney. The decision comes because a nightly fireworks display at the park, located 30 miles outside Paris, caused an entire nearby French army garrison to surrender to a group of Romanian tourists.
  17. I agree with Fr8dog. It's similar to having a Notary Public verify your signature on something with stamp and book just before his Notary commission expires, and then he doesn't renew and is no longer a Notary. He was one when he stamped your document, so the action was and remains valid.
  18. Thread is moved from the ROC forum to the Social Security Numbers subforum -- topic is chiefly about SSN.
  19. Keep the faith, everyone. It will happen.
  20. What a great feeling!
  21. Finally, at this part of the process, this is "good" tension.
  22. Proven again -- better to take stuff (taxes) and not need it. Congratulations, and what a great result for you.
  23. This straightforward piece skewers the whiners. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The New York Times misfires when it attacks Trump's use of the DHS The Trump administration has been using all available resources to track down and then imprison or deport the "worst of the worst" illegal aliens in America, the ones whose criminality extends beyond living illegally in this country. However, for the New York Times, there's a problem with Trump's efforts to make America safer: He's using DHS resources, which Congress intended to be used...to make America safer. And if you think that's nonsense, you're right, but it's the Times, not I, that's nonsensical. When Trump took office, he turned the DHS loose on illegal aliens who've engaged in murder, rape, drug dealing, sex trafficking, pedophilia, and other vile and violent crimes. By mid-March 2025, ICE had already arrested staggering numbers of criminals: [...] https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2025/11/the_new_york_times_misfires_when_it_attacks_trump_s_use_of_the_dhs.html
  24. Here it all is. ~~~~~~~~~~~ FBI, Secret Service butchered the Thomas Crooks case and invited conspiracies – we deserve the truth [...] The president demanded answers months ago. A man was murdered. What is going on? Then-FBI Director Chris Wray told Congress after the July 13, 2024, attack that the bureau had found nothing in Crooks' online history that pointed to a motive or political ideology. A week later, Wray's deputy Paul Abbate told Congress that comments posted on one of Crooks' social media accounts "appear to reflect antisemitic and anti-immigration themes to espouse political violence and are described as extreme in nature."
