  1. You're welcome. Once he's here, you can voluntarily visit Paris, Texas. Be sure to update your VJ timeline -- the country currently says "Armenia."
  2. Welcome to the forum! The way you put this is interesting and also gets to the probable heart of the matter. CBP can have any criterion whatsoever for sending vehicles and pedestrians to Secondary: "every 6th car," "every out-of-state license plate," "every vehicle with a W in the license plate," and the like. At one Texas-Mexico port, I (a born USC) was sent to Secondary as part of a CBP training exercise. This took far longer than your 10 minutes. Unless they've flagged you for something, nope. In fact, your visa probably wouldn't have been renewed if you'd had something serious in your records. It certainly can be, but avoid taking it personally. The CBP agents have their own criteria, which vary daily, and they're typically stressed out most of the time (they have a tough job). If you think that you're truly being abused or distinctly treated rudely, a good response is a calm "Sir/ma'am, I'd feel more comfortable if your Shift Supervisor joined us at this point, please."
  3. Not fun. As do many, maybe you too can pray to be reincarnated as an invertebrate.
  4. "Proactive correction" at the consulate will take care of this. He should mention this to the staff member who collects his papers or checks him in, and then again to the consular officer. This might simply be an internal characteristic of how the DS-160 confirmation page is produced.
  5. If it's "more" evidence, it should be "in addition" to what's already been submitted. The consulate has what you sent with the I-130. Do you have evidence from further visits that you made after submitting the I-130? Time spent together in person supersedes all else.
  6. The Tdap is valuable. For tetanus alone, it's recommended every 10 years, and sooner if you've been injured.
  7. Absolutely no one will care. All the best with your back issues.
  8. Proactive correction during the interview always should work.
  9. This Friday will be Bro G's Many-year* -- si man, Many-year* -- anniversary on VJ, anniversarial Bro G man. *2 Manycades -- si man, 2 Manycades -- si man

  12. Do you agree with the reaction to this charge? I like the retort "I wasn't all that hungry, so you owe me 30% back." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I would refuse to pay the bill": Customer says they were charged a "quiet time" fee at a restaurant A Redditor claimed they were charged a new kind of fee while dining at a nearly empty restaurant. The charge, which was added before the tip, appeared as a "Quiet Time Surcharge" on their bill. The story quickly picked up the debate, where users argued about whether the fee was even legal. 13. I think that the rationale of internal enforcement is stated well and sounds reasonable. Comments on this article? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Immigration, Trump Is Just Enforcing the Law The millions of illegal aliens resident in the United States got here primarily through two avenues of neglect, exacerbated by a lack of internal immigration enforcement. Here's how the system works, and what has changed under Trump. Many aliens simply walked in across the wide-open southern border. The others, perhaps the majority over the years, were issued legitimate tourist or student visas abroad by a Department of State more concerned with facilitating travel than protecting America. Those illegals simply stayed in America as they pleased, as long as they pleased, doing whatever they pleased, whether that be working out-of-status or, in the extreme case, going to flight school and conducting the attacks of September 11. There was no one to interfere with their plans once a visa was issued and they were admitted to the U.S., because America for decades lacked any form of internal immigration enforcement. Until now, and now everything has finally begun to change. [...] https://www.theamericanconservative.com/on-immigration-trump-is-just-enforcing-the-law/
  14. Bidementia hosed things even worse than we knew. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now We Know: Voters Were Right, 'Experts' Wrong, About The Biden Economy All last year, we were treated to a steady stream of stories about the "huge" and "baffling" gap between the public's negative views about the economy and its "actual performance." Our favorite "economist" Paul Krugman was apoplectic. "Why are so many Americans still telling pollsters that the economy is in bad shape" when "it's hard to overstate just how good recent economic numbers have been." Last week, the government issued two reports that explain why. And the reason is simple. The experts were wrong. The public was right. On Tuesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, after a string of glaring mistakes in its jobs report, announced the mother of all screw-ups. 15. Congratulations on imminently becoming a Colonist!
  16. Sigh... thoughts on this? ~~~~~~~ Expert Claims Kirk's Assassination Probably Won't Be the Last I don't know about all of you, but I've had Charlie Kirk on my mind pretty much non-stop since word dropped that he'd been shot. I've seen the video of it and was unable to turn away. I was locked up in shock, just watching it over and over again because, despite the fact that he was already gone when I saw it, I still couldn't believe this was happening. This is America, where we're supposed to be free to speak. Kirk had no actual authority to do anything. He could just speak, mobilize people who agreed with him, and urge them to vote a certain way. He couldn't do anything that the rest of the nation couldn't do. He was just better at it than most. And now he's dead. As of this writing, we still don't know exactly what the motive is, though it's very unlikely it's anything but politically motivated. Still, it happened and, according to one expert, it's probably not going to be the last time. 17. Surprise, Sergeant Carter... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, Now Leftists Are Posting Hit Lists of the People They Want to Murder Next The left is evil. The left is a gang of terrorists. If you have any lingering doubt about that, consider this: first they were celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk, but now leftists are making those celebrations look practically innocent. Hit lists have begun to appear on social media, as bloodthirsty leftists indulge their fantasies about which of their designated enemies they would like to see murdered next. And yes, there is no doubt whatsoever that the people who are openly displaying their bloodlust in this way think all the while that they occupy the moral high ground. The Center Square reported Friday that "in the wake of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, thousands of social media posts appear to list politically conservative targets for assassination by the political left." Some of the principal names that keep recurring on the left's death wish lists are some of the most prominent critics of the transgender madness: Joe Rogan, JK Rowling, Ben Shapiro, and Matt Walsh, as well as President Donald Trump, Libs of TikTok's Chaya Raichik, Elon Musk, and Andy Ngo. 18. Gentle terminology correction: You're contemplating filing the I-129F petition at this stage. Applying for the K-1 visa is later, at the consular level. In answer: Not with a Canadian beneficiary, or probably most others. However, it will theoretically score more points at the consular level (= visa interview) if the contemplated visit is completed and evidence from it is included in the I-129F filing. Not necessarily, but see above.
  19. I've eaten canned stuff as old as 8 years "expired" with no sequelae. Refrigerated stuff is a different matter altogether. Anything with milk or milk chocolate as an ingredient (e.g., candy) is inedible after a few months. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Daughter shares how parents refuse to throw away any expired food — here's how to tell if it's actually gone bad Some families are strict about tossing food the moment the date passes, while others are determined never to waste anything, even if it's months or years past the printed label. A woman shared her experience of having to deal with her parents, who have been keeping and even cooking food that is years old. In the original Reddit post, a user explained how their parents absolutely refuse to throw away food, even when it is clearly past its printed expiry date. The poster admitted it "grosses me out" to see old food left in the fridge or pantry because it has potential health risks.
