Charlie Kirk dead after being shot at Utah Valley University event Charlie Kirk, the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, is dead after being shot during an event on Wednesday at Utah Valley University, President Donald Trump announced. "The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!" he wrote. 2. A post from another thread has been split from there and merged into this thread. It was earliest, so it appears as the first post, whereas the thread title remains that from the original first post of this thread.
  3. It has happened to me as a USC. It doesn't need to be for obvious reason; it can be for other agents' training purposes, internal quotas, or arbitrarily for every 16th entrant on foot, every out-of-state license plate with a "W" in it, etc.
  4. USCIS, the consulates, and CBP thrive on the truth. Being dishonest about anything can, and often will, come back to bite you, whether immediately or later. There's also the stress of trying to remember what you said, when, to whom, about what.
  5. The only place near me doing that is the Walmarts, and usually rather casually. I think that if our purchases are in store plastic bags, they should leave us alone. Oh, but "the data-collection is temporary and isn't used for X, Y, or Z..." Right.
  6. This is good news. She can use this to her advantage if she's ever questioned by CBP at port of entry: "I'm here to build more evidence for our imminent I-129F petition and eventual K-1 visa interview at the consulate. It's an important process, so preparation like this is important." I don't think that any CBP agent could ever object to such reasoning.
  7. It is Wednesday, and here is our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: =========================================== THE TRUTH IN LIFE My electricity bill came today, and I think that I got charged for the sunlight, moonlight, street light, the light of the Holy Spirit, and the light at the end of the tunnel.
  8. Nepal is burning. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Holy Kath (on a Hot) Mandu - Gen Zrs Take on the Nepalese Government I have to admit that with everything else going on in the world, Nepal was not on my radar. While they are having a time of it there today, the anger has been building for weeks, and the government was the hand that held the flames that ignited their own pyre. For starters, there's been a [...] https://hotair.com/tree-hugging-sister/2025/09/09/holy-kath-on-a-hot-mandu-gen-zrs-take-on-the-nepalese-government-n3806637
  9. Thrilling Tuesday report, see man: Breakfasted and skoolbused Mini-B., groggy we man. Tried for a siesta thereafter, failed zzz man. Spent some time tag-phoning and actual-phoning bank chica to try to set up Mama T-B.'s high-yield savings account, verification problems man. We had Many (2+2) errands, including a trip to Aldi, si man. Mini-B. has developed an affinity for bananas, chip off the old monkey block wee man man. We also bought Aldi's Italian meatballs, first time in ages and see din-din notes on them man. Lunch was at Subway*, ingest we man. *WUOC + gift card, financially savvy we man Quickly off-dropped Aldi purchases at the casa and visited Mama T-B., visit senior she man we man. Bank chica was delaying her lunch in order to speak with both of us, very nice bank chica man. We got the requirements, challenging but not impossible man. Mama T-B. then aysheeped us into doing many minor things, important to bedfast senior she man man. No time for a siesta, no man. We intended to get on bank's requirements when bank chica called, call $he man we man. She said that we, already in system on Uncle T-B.'s accounts, could open account ourself, $i man. We could then e-mail them so back office could designate Mama T-B. as primary, much simpler man. Chica walked us through, walk chica man we man man. However, we encountered an error message, mystery why man. Chica will research and get back with us on Wednesday, re-caucus $he man with we man man. Mini-B. had de-skoolbused at ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s, visit new mini-miu wee man man. She chauffeured him back just as we blearily got off phone with bank chica, timing man. Ex-Mrs.-T-B. was all dolled up, been to beauty salon ex-she man man. She is going to Destin, Fla. from Friday through Monday, travel ex-she man man. This is a getaway with a Venezolana chica of her amiga-ship, We Hate Guys trip man. Ex-Mrs.-T-B. was dumped by the Rojo, well-documented situation and still-angry ex-she man man. Venezolana up-broke with her boyfriend for whom she'd bought the Florida getaway, learn we man. Ex-Mrs.-T-B. did not become a rubia, still hasn't learned man. Venezolana is reportedly also not a rubia, apparently never properly trained therefor man. We told ex-Mrs.-T-B. that we were accordingly not interested in either of them, high standards we man. The Venezolana also has "tweens," si man (2 Many-year-old [(2+2+2)-year-old]) girls, Spanish dialect man. We attempted a siesta, awoke halfway through because of headache man. Din-din was pasta + Aldi meatballs, si man. Onebag of pasta was Many-year-old ([2+2]-year-old) elbow macaroni, ingest wee man man. Onebag of pasta was Many-year-old ([2+2]-year-old) rotini, ingest we man man. Both had been rescued from Mama T-B.'s old casa, discerningly financially savvy we man. The Aldi meatballs were gigantic, big change from previously man. We had to nuke them, then slice them into halves or Many'rds or Many'ths, that big man. This necessitated Many nukings per bowl of din-din, as follow man: 1. Nuke meatballs, unfreeze them we man 2. Nuke onebag pasta while slicing meatballs, nuke we man Many. Pour Aldi pasta sauce atop pasta/meatball mixture and nuke again, renuke we man This process was repeated for the other bowl, double work man. Mini-B. seemed very well pleased with din-din and the ancient pasta poisoned nobody, good Two Guys din-din man. Mini-B. didn't want a movie night, popcorn quota beginning to look endangered man. However, he agreed to play back-patio basketball, split games of HORSE Two Guys man. Half-of-half an hour afterward, our blood pressure was markedly low, what the dickens man. Mini-B. gamed with amigo and then embedded himself almost on time, minor miracle man. No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man. No Wednesday plans other than conquering Mama T-B.'s bank account, assuredly to be done man. And that was/is our thrilling Tuesday, report we man.
  10. We sure wish that Steveklar would enter, even briefly, to immaculate this Rant thread before a new one starts, si man.
  11. Restaurant Rollback: Cracker Barrel Abandons Rebranding and Remodeling Plans to Focus on Food Quality Cracker Barrel is doing what appears to be a complete rollback of all the disastrous rebranding and remodeling plans they announced last month. You'll recall the enormous backlash the restaurant chain received when it decided to change its "Uncle Herschel' logo and modernize its gift shops and dining areas. Here's more. 12. The Attack on Qatar Shows Hamas They Can Run, but They Can't Hide At approximately 6:30 a.m. PST, 10 Israeli fighter jets enacted a targeted precision attack on Hamas leaders who were in Doha, Qatar. The leaders were apparently gathered together in one building to discuss ceasefire negotiations, and while reports are still coming in, it seems that many of the top leaders who lived outside of Gaza have now been eliminated. There are a number of important things to recognize about how meaningful this attack is, what precipitated it, and what the ramifications will probably be. 13. Let's hope that they used large munitions rather than smaller ones, thus increasing the tally. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Israel Takes Out Senior Hamas Leaders in Qatar The complicit Qatari regime has spent years sheltering Hamas terrorists and propagandizing for jihad in other countries (especially America), but the days of Hamas elites hiding in luxury while commanding their minions far away to kill Israelis are over. Israel Defense Forces confirmed the strike but not the names of those reportedly killed in an X post this morning. "The IDF and ISA [Israel Security Agency or Shin Bet] conducted a precise strike targeting the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization," the post stated. Like Iran's terror-sponsoring dictatorship, Qatar's regime is learning that shielding terrorists carries consequences. 14. Dude's point is valid, I think. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chicago man suing Home Depot for allegedly using facial recognition at self-checkout without consent — are you at risk? A lawsuit in Illinois accuses Home Depot of collecting customer data without consent. The plaintiff, Benjamin Jankowski, filed the class action suit against Home Depot on August 1 in US District Court, alleging violations of the state's consumer privacy laws. Jankowski, a regular shopper at Home Depot, claims that when checking out at a Chicago store location on June 22 of this year, he spotted something he hadn't agreed to: a biometric scan. 15. For the interview, if there's a waiting area, chances are that your husband will be able to sit and wait for you. For the oath ceremony, it depends on the venue, but some family members are almost certainly welcome.
  16. In Texas, the immigrant's SSN isn't required. Mine was. I had to leave Mrs.-T-B.-to-be at the courthouse while I blew home to find something with my SSN on it. My SS card wasn't anywhere. I did find a paper U.S. Savings Bond that had my SSN on it. I returned and showed it to the clerk, who briefly checked with her manager and said that it was acceptable (it's an official U.S. document, after all). She said that this was the first time in her experience that anyone had used a savings bond to fulfill the SSN requirement. After that, I applied for a replacement SS card... and I can't find that one, either.
  17. I've heard lawyers say, in the strongest possible terms, not to add anyone to any accounts unless the parties are married to each other. Collect other evidence: receipts with both of your names on them, photos with family if feasible, and so on. You might want to take notes about details of your activities, because memories fade as time passes. You can then review these experiences as the consular interview approaches, which will give the beneficiary more information and confidence.
  18. Thread is moved from the USCIS Service Centers forum to the US Citizenship Case Progress subforum, to be among similar threads.
  19. Thrilling Monday report, see man: Arose at o'dark-Many to breakfast Mini-B. and off-send him to skool, groggy we man. Tried for a siesta thereafter, just a bit too much caffeine man. Breakfast was 2 hard-boiled eggs, ingest we man. Got aysheep call from Mama T-B., aysheep senior she man man. Went there for 2 hours + almost another hour erranding for her, invest-timing we man. Mini-B. skoolbused to ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s casa to check on his new mini-miu, miu man. When he arrived back to us, he was too tired to do much, fall a-zzz on his bed wee man man. Din-din was nuked corn + air-fried breaded chicken chunks in honey-mustard, ingest Two Guys man. Mini-B. didn't want a movie night, groggy wee man man. No party with the rubias tonight, no cavort we man. We must go to Aldi on Tuesday, forgot crucial din-din component we man man. We must also visit Mama T-B., deliver purchases we man man. We foresee no siesta, sigh man. And that was/is our thrilling Monday, report we man.
  20. Truth. ~~~~~ Don't UK the USA Woe to the British, particularly the British who are actually British and are today being forced by their ruling class to be unwilling cattle subject to the unrestrained exploitation, looting, and raping of the Third World barbarians their betters imported. There's a lot of raping going on, and the real problem seems to be that normal British people don't want their daughters raped. But their rulers do; it's reasonable to assume that you want the foreseeable consequences of your actions. Recently, when one girl pulled a knife on some scumbag who was trying to molest her, someone got arrested. You're not going to be surprised to find that it was the girl who was defending herself and her sister. Britain is now a classic anarchy-tyranny, where the catspaws of the ruling class are free to pillage and abuse while the full weight of the once legitimate government comes down on those who would protest or resist. Raise the flag of your own country? That's a hate crime but fly high the pride and Palestinian banners. Don't get your hopes up about the British people casting off their chains anytime soon, because I'm sorry to say it's not going to happen. And there are a lot of reasons for it, reasons we should understand here in America to avoid the UK's sorry fate of tumbling down the slippery slope into nanny state fascism with sensible shoes, crushing its subjects' faces forever. I use the term "subjects" because that's what they are, not citizens, not men. [...] https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2025/09/08/dont-uk-the-usa-n2662867
