  1. Technically the company's name was (and still is) my name. We call it an "unipersonal" company. Should I put my name in there? Or just Self-employed. I think the latter is more reasonable, but I'm talking from the ignorance.
  2. Yes! that was another question that popped up in my head. When I came to the US I was self-employed. I entered the US 11/26/25, and technically I was off work for vacations (self employed work) until 12/14/25, and then I gave notice I wasn't gonna work with the company I was providing services anymore. So in this case, I just put Self Employed until 12/14/25, even though I was already in the US when that happened? And for the rest perfect, gotcha. Thank you!
  3. Hello, well I'm filing the Form I-130A (wife already filed the I-130), and in the part of employment history I have some questions... Before coming to the US I was self employed, working almost exclusively with one company, but in the end I was self employed. Then, 2 months ago I came to the US and of course haven't worked since. First question, in current employment, I have to put "unemployed" right? and the dates are since I came to the US to this day. Second question, before that, how do I fill my self employed phase? In Name of Employer do I put my name or I just put "Self-employed"? same with address. And in the "occupation" section, do I have to put what my work was? (I was a financial consultant). And lastly, I have had some unemployed months in the past 5 years, do I also have to put them in here? Thank you all so much!
  4. Hello everyone, thank yall for your help. I found a solution. Apparently BOA let you open a joint acc with just your passport and the SSN of your spouse. You just go open an acc online, fill out the form, upload two ID forms (mine was foreign passport and CC card that I got from being an authorized user), and then go to a branch and get them verified in person (can't thank enough to the personnel on the 1800 Macland Rd SW, Marietta, GA 30064 branch), and that's it. You just have to deposit a minimum amount of $25 and you are all set.
  5. I can't apply for SSN, that would be the straightforward solution... In your case you came with a K1 visa. I have a CC on my name since I'm an authorized user on my wife's CC, so that automatically gives me a CC on my name. But these kind of CC doesn't help you build credit history as far as I know
  6. Imma ask about the lease! That would be ideal. About BOA, yes i have a CC on my name, but the letter was on my wife´s name since she asked for the card for me,if that makes sense. Can I do that even without a ITIN?
  7. Yea I'm conscious about that, it's hard. Can I get an ITIN though?
  8. Thank you Lil Bear! I will try to do that, I really hope it works lol.
  9. Thank you for your help! I am considering the subscription to a magazine, but I've been reading that it might take 6-8 weeks for the first edition to come to my residence, and I don't know if I can wait that long 😕. The SSA option, idk it sounds kinda risky. I have no pets, and then the car and health insurance are on my wife's name. I've been subscribing to retail stores mails for a month now, but haven´t received anything yet, I don't know why. Do you by any chance have any other ideas? I really appreciate your help
  10. Hello, I was wondering how can I open a joint bank account with my wife. She is US Citizen, I'm not, and we are about to start filing all the forms for AOS, and we noticed that a strong proof of comingling is to have a joint bank account, but I have no SSN and no ITIN. Today we went to BOA and they told us that I should go with my passport, some other kind of ID (credit card, or some of the sort?) and proof of residence (like an utility bill with my name on it). We are currently living together with my wife. The thing is I can't put my name on our power bill (Cobb EMC) because, again, I don't have SSN. Same with the lease, credit cards, you name it, I can't open anything on my name. Is there any other way to verify my residence?? Or do you guys know any other way to open a joint bank account? Thank you to yall in advance!
  11. Thank you for the insights. We hope everything goes well since we didn't incur in any unlawful activity, but of course the immigration process is always unpredictable.
  12. Yea, we are planning to file ASAP, within 1 month from now if possible. We gotta put hands on work. Is it better to file on paper, or to file online, do you know that by any chance?
  13. I know 😕 I'm gonna miss my family and friends abroad a lot, but I embrace the challenge and am prepared for that!
