Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2023 -- post here
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
On Small-Business Saturday, I went to an estate sale and found a desk-lamp for $17.50, which was 50% off. It has a very heavy round base with a push-button on-off and a 3-hole electrical outlet, an angled rod, and a compact shade that doesn't need removal when the full-sized light bulb needs replacing. I would not have bought it at full price, and I imagine that I'll consider the half-price capital investment well worth it. This was the only item yielded by the 4 garage sales and 2 estate sales. -

What's your reaction to this? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blame Ireland's migrant surge, not 'right-wingers,' for Dublin riots DUBLIN — In the 12 months leading up to April this year, 141,600 immigrants landed in Ireland. The Irish population has increased by more than 2%. If the US had similar immigration, it would mean 9 million extra people. This is the highest level since the prosperous "Celtic Tiger" era of the late '90s. Ireland's non-nationals comprise a whopping 20% of the population. The tinder box of immigration blew open Thursday with a mass riot in Dublin following the stabbing of a number of young children outside a school near the main street. Has the Left Finally Blown It?
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Election of Milei, Wilders and Cogswell Has the Left Worried Is there a disturbance in the force? I think there might be. In just the last week, the chainsaw-wielding "anarcho-capitalist" Javier Milei won the presidential election in Argentina, the Freedom Party of Islamo-realist Geert Wilders trounced its opponents in the snap general election in the Netherlands, and, here at home, a Republican was elected mayor of Charleston for the first time since 1877. The Zeitgeist would seem to be awake and on the move. What is it waking from? I agree with those who say it is waking from wokeness. If the answer is "in a different bed," that would raise questions beyond whether both partners's answers were consistent.

Or, they simply don't look past, because they've never perceived the need. And they don't know what they don't know, which is frustrating. Other opinions? -

Hello House. Please what does it mean to not have access to your USCIS I-130 online petition? My hubby tried to know the status of our case as usual and of all a sudden, they are asking for an online code before we can access it. We don't know the code...

More than half a dozen posts discussing the L-2 visa have been removed. This thread is to discuss Montreal only. There are other places on this site to discuss the L-2, et al. Anyone who breathes another word about L-2 in this thread should be reported so that harsh administrative action can be applied. VJ Moderation

What do you see as the remedy? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Frightening: Students Rampage Thru High School to Hunt Down Teacher for Going to Pro-Israel Rally [...] Police had to escort the teacher out of the building while staff struggled to get all the students back in the classrooms. This is the frightening stuff of pogroms when you have mobs acting like this. Students told the Post that that other students had tracked down where she lived, her phone number, even her family and had called her up and said "bad things." This is disconcerting. Comments? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More Than 24,000 Chinese Illegal Immigrants Nabbed at Southern Border in 2023 When you think of the porous southern border, you think of Venezuelans, Mexicans, Africans, and other nationalities trying to cross into the United States. VAWA, Part 27
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
It is Sunday and therefore time for our long-awaited (well, since Wednesday and then the Thanksgiving jokes) Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke: ============================================================= FROM FORTUNE COOKIES AT CHINESE RESTAURANTS About time I got out of that cookie! You will marry a professional athlete -- if competitive eating can be considered a sport. I cannot help you, for I am just a cookie. (1) A new romance is in the future. (2) Ignore previous cookie. Avoid taking unnecessary gambles. Lucky Numbers 12, 14, 17, 20, 28, 36. You are not illiterate. I see money in your future... it is not yours, though. Pigeon poop burns the retina for 13 hours. You will learn this the hard way. Your fortune: You need to make a donation. Give it to the chef. Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn. Pass the bill to the person at your left. We don't know the future, but you just got a free cookie! -
