On Small-Business Saturday, I went to an estate sale and found a desk-lamp for $17.50, which was 50% off. It has a very heavy round base with a push-button on-off and a 3-hole electrical outlet, an angled rod, and a compact shade that doesn't need removal when the full-sized light bulb needs replacing. I would not have bought it at full price, and I imagine that I'll consider the half-price capital investment well worth it. This was the only item yielded by the 4 garage sales and 2 estate sales.

Drown it in gravy, and all is corrected (and forgiven).

I typically visit Aldi first, get everything there that I can, and fill in at a legacy supermarket.
