  1. *** Thread is moved from General Immigration Discussion to the "Bringing Family Members of USCs" forum. ***
  2. Moving agencies would at least put Federal court cases into fairer, more-balanced venues. Republicans would probably have more fighting chances in Great Bend, Kansas than in D.C. Furthermore, accountability might improve (e.g., put the Dept. of the Interior in Wyoming, nearer the center of action). Let the "anointed" elected/appointed crowd be more accountable, and let the employed bureaucrats be real people from real places. Moving agencies would also be a way to pare down the bloated size of government. I'd love to see Scarborough et al. try to interact with folks in Flyover territory.
  3. These clowns blame the victim. Always.
  4. I've asked someone very knowledgeable to contribute to your thread, and I hope that it happens.
  5. So the CO returned the passport with the blue slip, but the blue slip said to mail in the passport? This seems inefficient. "About a week" is a rather short time to hear anything, depending on Immigrant Visa Unit workload and whether they operate on a "first-in, first-out" basis (older stuff at the top of their stack, newer at bottom). Maybe into the third week of waiting, inquire. If you get nowhere, let us know here.
  6. It's Wednesday, and time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: ======================================== MALE CHAUVINIST PIG RIDDLES How many men does it take to open a beer? None. It should be opened by the time she brings it. ---------------------------------------- Why is a Laundromat a really bad place to pick up a woman? Because a woman who can't even afford a washing machine will probably never be able to support you. ---------------------------------------- Why do women have smaller feet than men? It's one of those "evolutionary things" that allows them to stand closer to the kitchen sink. ---------------------------------------- How do you know when a woman is about to say something smart? When she starts her sentence with "A man once told me..." ---------------------------------------- How do you fix a woman's watch? You don't. There's a clock on the oven. ---------------------------------------- If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, whom do you let in first? The dog, of course. He'll shut up once you let him in. ---------------------------------------- What's worse than a Male Chauvinist Pig? A woman who won't do what she's told. -------------------------------------- What's the correct answer when your wife asks "What's on the TV?" "Dust!"
  7. New Boeing 737 Toy Features Wings That Really Fall Off U.S. — A new airplane toy modeled after the Boeing 737 features "real in-flight damage" in which the jet's wings really fall off. "Wow! The wings really fall off, just like in real life!" said a boy in a television commercial for the product. "Crash! Bang! Ahh! We're all gonna' die! Hahahaha!" 9. Corrected to avoid confusing Polish tortoises, si and see and D ma'am. Bad insensitive Ontarklar! Bad, BAD insensitive INSENSITIVE Ontarklar!
  10. This is correct -- the process is 100% opaque to the COs. Complicating matters is that one security clearance can expire while another is still being investigated, necessitating a repeat of the first one.
  11. Thrilling Not-As-Much-Ranting Tuesday report, see man: Things quieted down, boon man. Lunch was 2 ham sandwiches, indict them and ingest we man. A siesta was then taken, zzz we man. 12. WATCH: General McKenzie Testifies Biden State Department Policy Failures Led to Bombing at Abbey Gate The House Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing Tuesday to assess the Biden administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, questioning retired Gen. Frank McKenzie, the former CENTCOM Commander, and Gen. Mark Milley, retired Chair of the Joint Chiefs. McKenzie just decimated Biden and the State Department in his opening statement, saying the disastrous withdrawal and the horrible bombing at the Abbey Gate were due to policy decisions, not the fault of the military on the ground. 13. 'Like Rats Deserting a Sinking Ship': Liberal Media Turn on Willis, Call for Self-Removal From Trump Case There's a Democrat Party modus operandi I've seen play out multiple times throughout my years of writing about politics: Democrat politicians and their lapdog media staunchly support and defend one another — until they don't. Once they smell blood in the water, it's under the bus for the previously defended. Such is the situation facing embattled Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis [...] https://redstate.com/mike_miller/2024/03/19/like-rats-deserting-a-sinking-ship-liberal-media-call-on-willis-to-recuse-herself-from-trump-case-n2171583
  14. Julie Kelly Straight-Up DECIMATES Loser Democrat Claiming Jan 6 Protesters Brutally Beat and Killed Cops Full transparency, we'd never heard of this nitwit before he crossed our timeline. That being said, Rep. Jason Crow out of Colorado makes cats with three legs and a brain injury look like coordinated geniuses. 15. Defamation: Trump Sues ABC News and George Stephanopoulos Some people are more litigious than others. Donald Trump is a litigious person. That fact is well-known. ABC News and George Stephanopoulos are being sued by Trump and it is delicious. Stephanopoulos is the host of ABC's This Week on Sunday mornings. A couple of weeks ago, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) was a guest on the show. Mace endorsed Trump in the 2024 general election. Stephanopoulos tried to shame Mace for the endorsement, given that she's a rape victim. She was raped at the age of 16. [...] https://hotair.com/karen-townsend/2024/03/19/defamation-trump-sues-abc-news-and-george-stephanopoulos-n3784975
  16. Biden Sets Record for Embassy Evacuations [...] Any one evacuation could have any number of legitimate causes unrelated to the actions of the president; after all, the world is a dangerous place. But once you hit 11 in 3 years, you can't deny the pattern, especially since one of the president's most important jobs is to help make the world safer, not more dangerous. Biden has clearly made things more dangerous for Americans and for the rest of the world. So which countries have we partially or completely evacuated diplomats from during Biden's presidency? 18. I see no downside. In fact, I'd offer all current bureaucratic employees a moving stipend of $6,000 or the chance to retire for a payment of one month's salary for every year worked. Then, hire locals. Your thoughts? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Let's Move the Capital. Washington, DC, Squandered Our Trust. [...] The Capital today is far removed from the geographical and population centers of the country, which today are located well beyond the Mississippi River. The westward movement of the United States during the 19th Century turned Washington into a far distant capital for most citizens — perhaps more so than any other major capital in the world. Representatives travel vast distances to get there, and must travel back and forth to their states and districts to serve constituents, leaving Washington under control of its permanent residents, nearly all of them Democrats. The time has arrived to think the unthinkable: we should move the capital. The reasons for doing so are more compelling today than they were in 1790 when Jefferson originally raised the subject. 19. Be sure to report back here with what we hope is happy news!
  20. Oh, Bogota. Far too much material was submitted, unless you the petitioner had to submit legal papers from court cases or convictions. Regardless, you should hear something soon.
  21. Thread is moved from the main CR-1 forum to the Case Progress subforum. Welcome to the forum! Yes, it is. Depending on what, and where your beneficiary will interview (where?), this might have been appropriate. He should have known better. It's too much and all had to be disassembled by the USCIS mailroom people. Hoping that you hear something soon!
  22. Rant on Tuesday morning, we man: Mini-B. took forever to de-bed, groggy wee man man. He took forever to shower, "I wanted a long one, si man," man. He took even longer than the shower to dry off, man. He took even longer than that to dress, didn't like selected shirt man. He took forever to breakfast himself, put phone down and chew and swallow already man. We were borderline-late to skool, hairy man. We asked, "Do you have your inhaler, huh man?" si man. Mini-B. answered, "Si, man," si man. We asked a second time, "Do you have your inhaler, huh man?" si man. Mini-B. answered, "Si, man," si man. We asked a Many'rd time, "Do you have your inhaler, huh man?" si man. Mini-B. answered, "Si, man," si man. Less than a block from skool, Mini-B. said, "Oh, no, oh no man," we man. "What, huh man?" we asked, ask wee man we man man. "I forgot my inhaler, si man," said Mini-B., we man. We made a majorly improper turn and blew back to the casa, man. We ordered Mini-B. to run inside to get his inhaler and to close all the doors, no-nonsense we man. "Did you close all the doors, huh man?" asked we man of wee man man. "Si, man," responded Mini-B., si man. We blew back to skool to beat first bell by 1 minute, just made it man. Back at the casa, Mini-B. had left inside door open, man. Miu was nosing around beside it, curious miu man. We just closed outside door in time to prevent escaped miu, Providential man. We have not retaken our blood pressure since all this, probably a wise choice man.
