In Indonesia nikah Siri doesn’t consider legal marriage. I wont put that nikah Siri as her first marriage. Indonesian wedding need both religious + civil marriage to be consider legal.

This would have been so helpful to include in your initial post... The consulate in the Netherlands generally does not accept DCF requests, so contact Frankfurt. Make sure to very clearly explain the situation: you have to relocate for your job (include documentation), your spouse cannot go back to her home country (explain why: no ties, does not speak the language, unsafe), and it sounds like she will not have legal status in the Netherlands after you leave (on what kind of visa is she currently there?). I think this is a classic example of why DCF exists in the first place, and if presented well I think there is a good chance of getting approval. Feel free to share here what you intend to include in your request, so we can help you to increase your chance of success. Good luck!

Verrou got a reaction from Chancy in Do I have a chance to visit my boyfriend in USA?
In my understanding they won’t know people are gay unless you do super PDA (public displays of affection). But even heterosexual couples can’t do a lot of PDA because of Asian culture - so any PDA for any kind of couple, gay or not gay is still unacceptable.

The reason that I mention this is because I don’t want our country to be generalized as a homophobic country. Of course there are homophobic people anywhere.

I really hope you will get the tourist visa, but if you cant get it, like I said…your bf can come to indonesia safely and won’t be stoned.

file B2 visa. if got denied, ur boyfriend can come to visit you in Indonesia easily with visa on arrival. easier that way, now i cant give opinion about his tight schedule.

i'm from indonesia so i know theres no issue for gay person visiting their bf in indonesia. i have many gay friends in indonesia and they're bf overseas visited them in Indonesia with no issue.

if you by any chance not comfortable to meet him in ur home town for some reason / small city or whatever, meet up in surabaya/ jakarta/Bali. i was born in Surabaya, live in Jakarta for 3 years and Bali for 5 years, gay community is quite big in those cities same like Bangkok.

I was just thinking that. I think it’ll be safer to buy it once in Qatar.

We have been suggesting Doha for a reason. Do not use pre-clearance, they can easily turn away GC holders. They need to face immigration on US soil.

Airlines do not care where you’re from as long as you pay for the ticket. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible.

We spent a week arguing with a visa journey member last week on this issue. In the end, the member flew to JFK, and after time in secondary inspection was admitted as a returning resident.

Seems like a good case for traveling as returning residents, especially since their child is a U.S. citizen.

Logically, giving them an NTA is a waste of time because they would be able to file I-485 in that event.

Pakistani citizens require a visa for UAE. So Qatar is the better option: book a round trip to Doha, enter Qatar, book a flight to JFK.

I get beaten up here all the time for not buying into the VJ conventional wisdom that

    * it is OK for new LPRs to spend more time outside the U.S. to wrap things up

    * and so a re-entry permit is not needed

They got caught by covid and then medical issues. So a re-entry permit was needed as it turned out. At the very least, applying for one would have made a stronger case that they did not intend to abandon status.

LPR status is for living in the U.S., period.

    Please list the risks.
