  1. This is correct. I wouldn’t fill anything out as simply there is no point to. Islamabad consulate is extremely backlogged.
  2. *** Thread moved from K1 forum to Working & Traveling during US immigration *** Pending I-485 gives her authorized stay so you should be fine with NOA1.
  3. Zombie thread closed. VJ Moderation
  4. *** Thread moved from CR1/IR1 Spousal visa forum to Bringing Family members of US citizens (other than spouse) to America forum as the case is regarding parents ***
  5. I’m so sorry for your loss. Are you a US citizen? If so, you can petition him as a sibling but it will take 20+ years even if he/she is a minor
  6. Verbal approvals are not reliable. A true approval is when CEAC status changes to Issued. They still need to review documents, do background checks, etc.
  7. Instead of a binder I would recommend an accordion file, it has many pockets and tabs for labeling.
  8. Four related threads merged. Please keep anymore related questions in this thread only. VJ Moderation
  9. Four (!) threads on tracking and visa pick up merged together. Starting more than one thread on a topic is spamming - keep all further questions regarding this in this thread only. VJ Moderation
  10. Another thread merged. Do not start multiple threads asking same or related questions as that’s spamming. VJ Moderation
  11. Personally I put 0 there and in other fields as well without issues when I was sending off my AOS K1 paperwork but I think blank should work too. At the time I was reading that USCIS sent RFEs for blank spaces so I was being extra cautious.
  12. The screenshot is how it should be filled out. It says at the top to not count any person twice. Since you’re counted in #1 then #3 should be blank.
  13. All of those could be the factors, USCIS always keeps I-864 RFEs super vague. the letter should show the annual salary. When we sent ours a few years ago my husband was hourly and we calculated that into annual and HR signed. If it doesn’t cut close to the deadline, I would probably wait until 6 months of paystubs since that’s also in the instructions and the reviewing officer might be stickler for rules. As for the prior business, personally I wouldn’t include that as to not muddy the waters and just focus on the supporting evidence of the income. good luck and keep us posted!
  14. That could be why, the instructions (p. 8 )state that they want to see the annual salary. “For example, you may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your employer's address and telephone number, and indicating your annual salary.” https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864instr.pdf As I see it, you have two options. Option 1 is send an updated employment letter with an annual salary and add more paystubs, you (joint sponsor that is) should have 5 months worth of them by now. If USCIS isn’t satisfied with your RFE response, they will deny the case. The second option is to find a better joint sponsor but I also understand they don’t grow on trees and you might not have someone available. But it is a safer bet which is why it was suggested. So you must decide which option you’d like to go with.

  16. Beneficiaries are eligible for this process if they: Resided in Ukraine immediately before the Russian invasion (through Feb. 11, 2022) and were displaced by the invasion; Are a Ukrainian citizen and possess a valid Ukrainian passport (or are a child included on a parent’s passport) or, if not a Ukrainian citizen, are an immediate family member of a Ukrainian citizen beneficiary of Uniting for Ukraine who has a valid passport and is traveling with the Ukrainian citizen beneficiary; Have a supporter who filed a Form I-134A on their behalf that USCIS has vetted and confirmed as sufficient; and Clear biographic and biometric security checks. https://www.uscis.gov/ukraine#:~:text=Supporters who file Form I,and enrolling children in school.
  17. Nobody here is going to condone fraud (because what you’re suggesting is fraud - you know what the primary reason for entry is but you’re trying to mask it with a “legitimate” reason) while all of us had to be separated and wait the proper process out.

  22. Big banks like Chase won’t open a checking account if you can’t furnish proof of US address in the form of utility bills, etc. I would try small banks and see if they can be more flexible. But generally, proof of US address is the biggest hurdle I see here. Even newly arrived K1s with pending AOS have trouble opening a bank account. I was given such a run around being added to my husband’s checking/savings with Citi bank when I came as a K1, we almost switched to a different bank. I think you’ll have an easier time with a credit card though, especially being added an authorized user. Credit scores are looked at when purchasing a home so you’ll have something by that point.
  23. There is no such thing as sponsorship for a tourist visa. He must apply on his own and qualify on his own. I would definitely not marry on the first visit - not only is that a red flag for immigration, but you do not know the person at all. My advice is to meet in a country that doesn’t require a visa (or offers something like visa on arrival or eVisa) for either of you. Take it slow, there is no need to rush into a marriage with a stranger.
  24. *** Thread moved from Process & Procedures to Progress Reports as the question is about wait times for NVC ***
