    I would forget about B2 since you have a pending immigration spousal case. It doesn’t cancel the B2 automatically but there’s no way the consulate will grant it seeing that you have a very strong immigrant intent and an American spouse and have been in AP for this long without a word. If you meet the expedite criteria, you can ask for it but not wanting to wait longer isn’t a valid reason. You can search on USCIS and DOS websites for what the expedite criteria are.

Regarding the question, have a read through the Tirana consulate page here that members filled out with their experience . They also have an option to call the consulate, I’m not sure if that’ll help. But 5 days is not too long, if the call doesn’t go anywhere I would just wait.     Just wondering, is he a resident in Turkey? If he’s a non-resident who will interview in Turkey, then the wait is longer for them as the priority is reserved for residents/citizens

    18 months to 3 years as some consulates like Islamabad consulate have a huge backlog.
