  1. Your primary question is still about how to bring your sister together with your mother. As mentioned previously, no there isn’t. Just because your sister is a minor doesn’t mean your mom can add her to her petition. Either you petition your sister which will take 20+ years OR you petition your mom (again, you sister cannot be added to her petition) and once your mom enters the US and becomes a green card holder, she then petitions for her daughter (your sister) and she will be in category F2A - unmarried and under 21 child of LPR (lawful permanent resident). This will take an additional 5-ish years. There is an option for an LPR to file form I-131 which would allow your mother to be out of the US for up to 2 years but it won’t cover the whole process. So to conclude: Option A: you petition for your sister = 20 years Option B: you petition your mom who then petitions your sister once you mom enters the US and becomes an LPR = roughly 7 years. No, there isn’t a special visa that would allow your sister to live in the US while waiting for either processes. Separation is an unavoidable part of the process.
  2. Question has been answered multiple times. He cannot do that. He’s free to move to your country and be married to both. It’s not. I’m Muslim and it was pretty simple.
  3. Then they can’t immigrate to the US. Plain and simple

  5. Interesting because I also know many Pakistanis, Yemenis, Afghans and Bangladeshis and I have yet to meet or hear anyone practicing polygamy or having a second family back home. In fact, my Pashto speaking husband whose extended family comes from a remote area near a Pakistan-Afghanistan border also doesn’t know a single person in his town and nearby villages who practice polygamy. In fact, it is unheard of even though the area is very conservative. This goes for his extended network of friends and acquaintances here in the US too. I’ll leave this article form Pew Research here as well: ”Fewer than 1% of Muslim men live with more than one spouse in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran and Egypt – all countries where the practice is legal …” https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/12/07/polygamy-is-rare-around-the-world-and-mostly-confined-to-a-few-regions/#:~:text=Fewer than 1% of Muslim, legal at least for Muslims.
  6. IMHO, that’s too soon to return and too long of a visit. I’m a cautious person so I wouldn’t want to risk losing my B2.
  7. Is this K1 visa AOS or another visa?

  12. Correct. And you don’t need to wait for it to arrive in order to file AOS. Yes, you can…. As I said previously, by law you’re eligible for one until day 75 of the 90 days given after the K1 entry. I hope this helps:
  13. I’m not sure if you read until the end of my post… you can get one now while you’re eligible.
  14. There are many more. They will not send anything to SSA until the case is approved. Even then, half the time they don’t send the request to SSA and you have to wait for the physical card to go to the SSA office. K1 arrivals are eligible to receive an SSN number before day 75 of the 90 days. It’s preferable to do that before marriage. It looks like you’re still within that time. I would be running to the SSA office first thing tomorrow to apply.
  15. That’s a boilerplate message. Depending on the consulate, either you will schedule it yourself or the consulate will.

  17. If you have a Mac, you’re better off opening the file through Preview and filling it out there. I filled out all of my immigration forms that way
  18. Amount of time spent together in person is the best/strongest evidence.

  20. Philippines has a huge backlog of CR1/IR1 cases. Last I read they issued ILs for those DQ’d up until August 22, 2023. There’s a whole thread in the Philippines sub forum:

  23. Yes, she would need a transit visa. Transit visa has the same requirements as a tourist visa - paying $185, filling out DS-160, waiting for an interview and convincing the CO that she doesn’t have an immigrant intent. Too much hassle if there are other flights available that do not transit through the US, even if they’re more expensive.
