  14. These statements led me to believe that. To answer your question, no she won’t be eligible for ACA (aka Obamacare) on a temporary basis. This is what I had when I first came but we were already married and I had to show a bunch of stuff showing I’m eligible and it was a long term insurance; it also took several weeks to kick in. Travel insurance doesn’t usually have good coverage (only emergencies) and from what I’ve been reading over the years here, K1s aren’t eligible because they’re not visiting, they actually relocate here to take up residence. Waiting to marry (and consequently delaying filing AOS) puts a K1 holder in a vulnerable position, including both from an immigration perspective and the health insurance aspect. I never recommend waiting, especially if it’s to test your partner to see if they’ll bail because it’s too cold.
  15. So you’re not planning to marry her within the 90 days given? You signed statements stating that you will marry within 90 days of the arrival in the US.
  16. What is your immigration status? Are you a US citizen?
  17. Do MFS and in the SS/ITIN field write NRA (non resident alien). Note that this is only possible with a paper filing.
  18. *** Thread moved from Process & Procedures to Progress Reports as the question is about wait time *** There isn’t a ton of data on Egypt spousal cases, but the latest timeline indicates that they waited 10 months for an interview letter: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op6=All&op66=All&op7=Egypt&op1=3&op2=&dfile=No&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C10%2C11%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C16%2C17%2C18%2C20%2C21%2C22%2C25%2C26%2C27%2C28%2C108%2C110%2C111%2C208%2C210%2C211&cfl=

  21. No they won’t charge you twice. If they reject the package, they will not charge you. I wouldn’t cancel the credit card as it’s very much possible that they won’t reject it.
  22. Usually, they want to see the divorce decree to see that the marriage was terminated.
  23. I would think they would. It’s valid. Which city, state are you in? It sounds like there isn’t much of an immigrant community
