BlinkerFluid got a reaction from OldUser in Student F1 Visa denied at Interview, new DS-160?
No. She was only asked 4 questions. He was speaking too softly behind the glass and my Sis couldn't hear him. She asked him to repeat the question and he stopped the interview.

It is unlikely to be anytime 'soon' since K interviews are not happening.  You have plenty of time to work in the meantime.

EVERYONE thinks their case should be put at the front of the line....It is a normal part of the process now, it seems.  Let us know how it works out.  Personally, I don't see this as a legitimate expedite for a K-1 case.  You can always re-locate back to the US alone.

If the US citizen is already moving back to the US, exactly how does this expedite help his/her (US citizen)  financial hardship?  No one likes separation, but sometimes, it is unavoidable.....

the best thing the USC can do to help your case is return to the US ,  work and vote to end the onslaught of EO's
He can financially help support you better from a job here
plus the fact you can not work for many months on a K1 (not helping u with your work situation)
and only the USC can ask for expedite

That's the thing about expedite requests.....people don't seem to understand that they are considered in the context of helping the USC, rather than the visa applicant.

My fiance is returning to the US in two weeks so he can work and earn money. He is, in fact, going to "establish domicile" in the US. He already has one. Does it make you feel good to behave in a pretentious manner on internet forums, when I never even suggested that my case was more important than anyone else's?

We do have financial hardships because my fiance stayed here with me to assist financially, because I lost my job due to COVID (and can't work now because no one will hire someone who will immigrate soon, in Russia), and couldn't return to the US in a comfortable timeframe, due to no information at all from the NVC after we received our NOA2. He's only returning now because his visa is expiring and he needs to work to keep us above 100% of the federal poverty guidelines.

I was in a similar situation as you relocating to Manila in 2010 and leaving in early January this year.  You may want to post in the Philippines forum for Philippine related answers.

I did the CRBA through the Embassy in Manila (when times were normal) and the process took 3-4 months, I cant remember exactly but this was done in 2017 or so.  As you are not married (same as my situation) there is additional burden of proof on the US citizen father.  On the day of our interview at the Embassy we had all of our documents and I thought we were good to go, also my son is a spitting image of myself so didnt except any trouble.  However, the Consular officer wanted ultrasound photos or photos of her when carrying the baby.  We did not have these at the interview and so they gave us the option of getting the photos or taking a DNA test.  As our photos were in another province and you have only a limited time to provide the additional evidence, we did the DNA test.

You need to order the test from a list of preferred providers in the US.  Embassy has a list.  I ordered from a place called PTC Labatories and I highly recommend them.  Every part of that was great.  I did an initial call as I didnt know which one to order (there are quite a few choices) and they knew exactly what I needed.  This was then shipped to the US Embassy or St Lukes Extension Center (I dont remember) but on the day of the swabbing, we had to go to the Embassy first, then to SLEC to pay a fee, then back to the Embassy.  Total fee was $650 which is separate from the fee at SLEC.  $450 for the test, and $200 for the shipping in all directions, plus SLEC fees which may have been around $50.  I really highly recommend that place.  Everything was done on time and super fast communication.  I was communicating with them by email at night in Manila and within minutes I had responses.  They are located in Missouri.

Once this whole process is done youll get the certificate soon after. When you start the CRBA process you can also apply for the passport at the same time and given the travel situation you need to do this.  Make sure your CRBA is correct though, as the mother had the wrong birthdate on it, however the Embassy said its not a problem, but Im not sure if I believe that and will find out soon as Im trying to get my son his SSN and Im using the CRBA for that.
I think the issue you will have now is on transportation with all of the lockdowns and so forth.

A few other notes.  You need to be reestablished back in the US before the interview.  We sent our I-129F papers in August 2019 to USCIS and I left early January to transition back to the US since I had been away so long.

Also, if I knew we were going to have COVID, I would have got married in August 2019 in the Philippines and did the CR1 visa.  We are now at 1 year and waiting for an interview that we dont know when it will come essentially making the K1/CR1 process time the same but with priority for CR1's.

As others have said, you cant have your child on the application.  All of the other advice is correct in this thread.  Its impossible to predict what the next day will bring, but you may want to look at doing the CR1.  Its very likely the K1 will take 1.5 years or so.

It's a part of the deal when considering an international relationship and not to have people become a public charge is good for any society, it's just common sense to be financially responsible first and foremost before considering other things such as relationships.
This does not only apply to immigration but almost every aspect of life and society.

Trump did not raise the cost.

USCIS is  a  mostly self supporting agency.

USCIS is required to regularly assess whether fees cover processing costs. Over the years, each fee adjustment has been preceded by at least one year of the agency’s costs exceeding collections. For example, before its FY 2017 fee hike, receipts accounted for 91 percent and 96 percent of eligible expenses in FYs 2015 and 2016, respectively.
This mismatch and the need to regularly revise fees make it difficult for the agency to quickly adjust operations, especially staffing, to meet sudden surges or drops in petition rates, which can be driven by the economy, debates over immigration legislation, business cycles, policy changes, and more. USCIS has managed these fluctuations by moving resources between types of adjudications—which can result in significant backlogs—and by “forward funding,” i.e. taking on costs that will be repaid by future revenue.

A lot of us here that are CR1/IR1 have spent the money and gone thru the K1 and denied and had to go CR1
i personally don't think K1 visa doesn't matter and I closely followed the USCIS guidelines and spent a month with fiancee family before applying (when it said all i had to do was meet in person)
All of us have spent a lot of money and regard our relationships as real and want to have the same consideration
so,  sorry for all going thru this at this very hard time
please know that if any need positive reinforcement , you have it from me (and others here)
    don't give up
    and be happy

and on serious side, congressmen do not control what is done by immigration/  they are only suppose to make the laws and rules (i was told this by my Senator who did BTW write a letter to embassy for our 3rd interview)

Look if you don't agree with the post fine. But don't sit there and tell us not to do something. So you mean to tell me a professional athlete should be able to get in but not my fiancée? I'm sick and tired of hearing CR-1 IR-1 people saying that our Visas don't matter. Go to another forum if you don't like it.

Can I please ask how you can request to expedite?

I just saw the post that they are prioritizing spouses. My daughter and I were planning to leave within the next two weeks but if we can expedite and stay together it would be a huge help. I know there are probably many with similar situations but I figure it’s worth a shot.

    Hello,

Hope everyone is doing well. My spouse case was approved for expedited processing by U.S Embassy in Manila. Her case already in Consulate and the status in CEAC is READY. My wife and I received an email from embassy last week asking for us to provide some information (see attached attached photo). We responded immediately after we receive the email. I was wondering if anyone in here had the same situation. How long it did take to U.S. Embassy to schedule the interview or call the applicant? My wife just completed her medical examination and she has been cleared by the physician.
