Hey everyone! Did my Bio today in Orlando, went pretty quick I must say 😄

well give it a week I'd say.  Don't worry  . These days the processing times have slowed down a bit..

Walk-in means when you go without an appointment ahead of your scheduled date. I did it before because I was flying out to Charlotte on the 1st and I don't live in Dallas but my husband does. I went to the ASC and the person in-charge asked to see proof as to why I was there early. She asked to see proof - flight tickets to verify if I was indeed going out of the state and she let me go through.
Another person who walked in after me was sent away and asked to return on his scheduled date.

In case you are interested, this is my simple comparison:
 
Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.  
K-1
    Slightly faster arrival in the US    
    More expensive than CR-1    
    Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)    
    Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months)    
    Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months)    
    Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period    
    Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
  
CR-1
    Slightly slower arrival in the US 
    Less expensive than K-1    
    No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.    
    Spouse can immediately travel outside the US    
    Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.    
    Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US    
    Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
    Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

The very same day - later in the evening, after my biometrics appointment I got this update - I-485, I-765 : Cases were updated to show that the Fingerprints were taken.
No changes since then. Should see another update in the next 20 days I suppose, if everything goes per the schedule  

It does seem to be following a steady path for people from the same locations so we just need to wait until people from Dallas start getting scheduled I guess  

There is moment with the cases of November filers. Some even received their interview dates scheduled. Hope we see some movement with our cases too soon. 
 
For a terribly impatient person like me, this is quite the challenge to keep still with a process that doesn't follow a steady path

Below is the process for I-485 Adjudication process once your application is received by Lockbox 
 
 
- START STAGES FOR I-485 ADJUDICATION -------------------

Opening Mail
Setup document file
- Keep all the documents in Left Side of the file
- Setup processing worksheet on Right Side (every step will mark on the worksheet )
Review the eligibility
- Correct Fee
- Proper signature
- Visa Availability (verify with FAD or Filing chart)
- Jurisdiction
Work load Routing
Opening I-693 Medical records
- Mark on the worksheet if I-693 is received or not, so RFE can be raised prior to adjudication
- verify the medical records are sealed
- open the envelope and arrange staple with the file

Review rejection criteria is Mark for rejection

Review I-765 & I-131
- Marl the I-485 receipt number in the worksheet (in the section related to 765/131)
Conduct CIS (Central Indexing System) checks
- check if Alien is assigned a A-number (search)
- if found compare the data with data mentioned with I-485 if match use that A-number
- if multiple A-number found ROUTE to CRU (central resolution unit)

- every file should have RAFACS record.
- code used to stage file in the correct shelf (something like call number in library)

- request all the files related to A-number
- ask photos if not filled correct
- request FBI checks using fingerprints
- request file from NVC
- fill memo
- fax memo to the NVC & annotate processing worksheet
ROUTE THE FILE TO “PENDING I-485 SHELF” & wait for the underlying petition from NVC

Workload distribution Staging stage (here petition can come for any reason) during the processing on I-485 adjudicator can request stage for any reason.
- stage all pending I-485
- keep family packs together
- stage for FBI response
- stage because of RFE
- stage for NOID response
- Visa was not available goes into Visa hold shelf
Visa Hold shelf review every month.
If visa available pull the file and ROUTE to adjudicator



File connect
- Match file when received the response from staging step
- Link I-485 with FD-258 FBI fingerprint response.
- Family packet will be stages until all family members receive FBI response.

Adjudication checks:
- Perform checks
- IBIS check (Border inspection system)
- CIA checks
- FBI checks
- Public charge
- Verify evidence of Birth certificate
- Determine I-693 acceptability (Class A, B condition annotated)
- Vaccination checks


I-485 processing procedure.
- check processing sheet
- verify Adjudication checks are done (verify FBI result is NO-IDENT)
- Officer check the country of chargeability
- check interview waiver or not
- Annotate “Recommended approval” block in the worksheet
- drop the file to “Visa Requested” to Workload distribution area
- Mark I-485 “Adjudication Hold” in the worksheet
- After visa is allocated to the File staging area will distribute the file bak to adjudicator.
- Adjudicator will remove “Adjudication Hold” and ill approve the petition.

Your question comes up a lot and I've noticed that it's also one of many highly contested topic. 
 
So here is my 2 cents.
 
I try to objectively provide the best information/opinion I can based on "my" experiences without discounting other's opinions. The problem is, there's select few people on here that can't have a healthy discussion without interjecting their thoughts as gospel. They obviously enjoy arguing with you if your opinion differs from theirs and more often than not become aggressive.
 
Take a look at a thread on this very topic that I responded to and decide for yourself whether or not you feel it's necessary to go through another medical. 
 
 
 
I want to stress that what I say is by no means the correct and only way to go about it. It is by far the most conservative route and would help minimize any potential hiccups that could further delay one's case but it's up to each person to take all options and decide what's best for them in their given situation and what risks they are willing to take.

As noted, you're dealing with a small sample size, and then only looking at a small portion of that - those who have reported approval.
 
A couple points to consider:
1) In your prior link, sorting your prior link's data by approval date (newest->oldest): https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aplist.php?cfl=0&op1=app&op2=d&op4=1&op5=3,6,9,10
Page 1 has 2 cases where it took ~5-6 months for approval. These are very recent approvals.
Page 4 has a majority of cases in the ~4-6 month range. These are approvals from mid-December.
 
Are those cases where it took less than 4 months the norm? Or are the cases that took 5 or 6 months the norm? It's impossible to say.
I've seen a few times where a few dozen people who filed an I-129F had their case approved in ~3-4 months (not expedited) while most people were still waiting 6-8 months.
 
2) Lets look at it another way. Instead of looking at the average - which you cannot know until you have all the data - let's look at from another angle. Starting with people who filed 4 months ago and looking at reported approvals form them, at what point are x% of the cases approved? Basically, when do most (x%) people get a decision within? This is something that can be calculated using incomplete data. That said, there are cases of people not updating their timelines so they will never show approved, people with an RFIE who have delayed their process (sometimes by months for not having a response right away), etc. So that factor must be considered in determine the percentage point top consider.

If you set the percentage at 50%, it roughly (I did not do an actual calculation) appears to happen a little before page 50 - late July filers. Let's say early August so we can compare it to now (early January). That's 5 months.
So within 5 months, about 50% of filers have been approved.
This is not a perfect plan nor implementation. It's another way to look at the data, one that does not require having a complete dataset.
Just some food for thought.

They were fine with it and asked me to show them the proof as to why I was going to a different ASC prior to my appointment date. I had to show my flight tickets and tell them that I was leaving the state for a month. Only then did they allow me to do the biometrics. 
They turned away a person who did a walk-in after me because he didn’t have a valid reason to be there before his appointment date.

The driver’s license is good for 99% of the time. One big exception is if you live in a border state ( especially the Southern border), where they routinely conduct roadside checks for undocumented immigrants, then you probably need something to prove your legal status in the US. Only the federal authorities will be interested in your immigration status. A regular cop pulling you over for speeding will almost never ask for anything immigration because mostly they have no idea what to ask for. Most people will only know or ever hear of the green card. You’ll lose them talking about NOA1 or EAD.
 
Long story short, the law puts the burden on you, as an alien, to always be able to prove your identity and your legal status in this country. On a practical level, I can only tell you what I have done. I’ve been in the US for 18 years, many of those years were in non-immigrant status (J1 and F1 as student, H1B as worker before I got my green card) and I never carried around the I-20 or the NOA1 or the I-94 or even my green card. To me, those are too valuable and hard to replace so the originals go straight to a bank deposit box. I carried copies on the old days and   photo of said document on my phone in the smart phone days.

So much nonsense in this thread. OP, you can file for AOS tomorrow and you'll be fine. Go ahead and send do it as soon as possible, so that you can get your green card as soon as possible. 
 
Your intent while crossing the border is irrelevant because now you're an immediate relative and your intent is ignored. All that matters now is you proving that your marriage is real and that your wife makes enough money for the affidavit of support. Ignore everything else in this thread, you're not in trouble. 

Honestly, I hate coming across threads like this. Everyone bouncing off of each other's comments and badgering the OP for asking an honest question. I thought the purpose of this forum was to learn more about the process by asking questions, raising concerns and seeking advice, not to get bullied by a mob. "That's why people from your country are denied visas..." I mean really...
 
OP, you can file for AOS now that you are the spouse of a USC and in the US. I suggest waiting a few months to collect evidence, get a copy of your marriage certificate and get your affairs in order. If you can afford it, get a consultation with a lawyer (~$100). Best of luck to you!

OP has clearly indicated he wants to do AOS but wanted to go to India for an Indian wedding. OP entered on F1 with an immigrant intent.  OP has clearly violated his non immigrant F1 status.  I saw a lot of bashing on the forum for a similar situation where @moosers wanted to do the same thing and everyone was against it.
