My case was updated yesterday (got the app notification this morning) to say ‘case was updated to show finger prints were taken’.

So I'm wondering if that means biometrics from AOS will be reused.

I'll update again if I see anything else show up😃

Hi everyone! I sent my packet on November 7th and it got to the Elgin lockbox in Illinois today. This is what was sent:

    1. I-751 with $680.00 money order
    2. Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
    3. Photocopy of front and back on green card
    4. copy of joint lease
    5. copy of joint checking and savings account
    6. copy of health insurance cards
    7. copy of car insurance policy
    8. copy of federal and state tax returns
    9. photos from my husband's arrival into the U.S. until recent (not as many pictures since he arrived in the middle of the pandemic)
    10. Two affidavits

We didn't bother sending the passports and marriage certificates again as they are uploaded to our USCIS account already under the I-130. I also wasn't stressed out as I was initially when filing the I-130. I just want to make sure he gets the I-797C since his card expires in February but I read it doesn't take that long to receive it.

    Happy Filing!

I sent pictures of myself and my husband over 5 years with dates and captions as to where we were. There were probably a total of 10-12 pictures and some included family and friends.

SSN not required: https://www.irs.gov/affordable-care-act/questions-and-answers-about-reporting-social-security-numbers-to-your-health-insurance-company "You should advise your coverage provider that you do not have an SSN or TIN and give them the date of birth for each covered individual."

    1.  His stamped passport serves as a Green Card until the plastic one arrives.  Legally, he does not require a SSN to be added to your health insurance.....but you might have to go up the chain of command to find someone who knows that.
    2.  Green Cards and SS Cards seem to be taking several months right now to arrive.  Back in 2017, both were arriving within 3 weeks.....

Trish and Oli reacted to Dashinka in Green card interview
This is an interview for an AOS, so it is conducted at the local office, and in the case of the OP based on other posts, will be at the Detroit office.

To the OP, it has been a while since my wife and I attended her AOS interview.  My main recommendation echoes what others have said, bring copies of your supporting documents that you filed or uploaded, and I would add, bring recent pictures of you and your spouse including, if you have them, pictures from the wedding.  Be truthful, and cordial, and positive as much as you can.  You never know how the IO will act, but keep in mind that even in the walk back to their office for the formal interview, they will be interviewing you, and hopefully all will go well!

    Good Luck!

Hey y'all. Hopefully this update helps someone down the line.

    Last week: 27 OCT 2020
DH had his interview and was approved that day.
    Interview review is here: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=365540

The follow day his visa was issued. And arrived the next day after that: 29 OCT 2020.

We promptly paid the the final USCIS fee (about $200-ish bucks). This is paid directly to USCIS (when you get to this stage the website states you should pay before entering the US, however if you don't, they will send you an invoice in the mail and it will inevitably delay your GC and SSC, if you opted to get one at the petitioning stage... we did).

Booked a flight from London to Kentucky, by way of Chicago. We did this because we already know Chicago's immigration vibe, so it would be familiar for Mr. Idu.

The flight was on Sunday, 01 Nov.
London airport - bit of issue with bag weight, easily solved, they were a bit confused with what to do with visa... however it was sorted and one of the officers finally came 'round and handled it all. Please note that IR-1s (and I'm assuming CR-1s) will have two exceptions listed on your visa sticker: 1-for the travel ban on working in the US, 2-for the travel ban on immigrating. They are plainly written at the bottom of the visa entry sticker. Mr.Idu also had documentation to prove our relationship, but wasn't asked for it. London done and dusted.

Chicago airport - easy peasy. Went through immigration smoothly. They stamped his passport and wrote the a-number again. 'Welcome to America'.

The rest is history. We are reunited! Finally...after a delay over the summer due to covid-19.

Good luck to everyone! Things moved very quickly for us in the last few days. So hopefully that same energy will be the same for y'all.

Now we're just awaiting the GC and SSC.

Your DQ is June 2020. Looking at schedules you should be in the next batch. I would expect you to get an email early October - perhaps 5-8th October with your date. I HOPE to be in the same batch but expect a November notification for a December interview. That is unless COVID buggers it all up again .....

What do you mean conditionally approved? Are you talking about being DQ's? have you requested an interview?

I know London i doing expedites right now and rescheduling. All you cab do is request an expedite and see if you get approved. Otherwise you must wait.

No PD has nothing to do with your wait. There are hundreds waiting in line for Mexico and Canada to open up and be sitting at NVC for over a year.

Just request and see. Won't know unless you ask.

What’s so special about nov 13? A year since PD isn’t really a suitable reason, my PD is Oct 2018 and only last week received an email about scheduling an interview..

NVC will not forward your documents to the embassy until an interview has been scheduled.. so it’s entirely up to the embassy.. you can try for an Expidite but will need to have a valid reason and provide proof for the embassy to consider it, if they are taking those types of appointments
  18. Thanks
Trish and Oli reacted to Just Paul in Expedite Case
There isn't a maximum time for the NVC to send to the consulate for a documentary qualified case since it is based on openings at the consulate.  Covid19 has messed that up.   It is first done at NVC first out.   If cases after you are moving to the consulate then you need to contact NVC.  Note some people have reasons to ask for an expedite and they have been granted.

    Alhamdulillah!!!!

I'll update more later after I get over the initial shock.

Update from U.S. Embassy & Consulates in the United Kingdom:

UPDATE: As of July 27, 2020, the United States Embassy in London and as of August 3, 2020 the United States Consulate General in Belfast are resuming certain immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services, including: immigrant visas for spouses and children of U.S. citizens; F-1 and M-1 student visa categories.
While we aim to process cases as soon as practicable, there are likely to be increased wait times for completing such services due to substantial backlogs. The MRV fee is valid and may be used to schedule an interview appointment in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.

Hopefully those of us who have interviews in London will start getting appointments scheduled in August!

Its up to all of us to keep this information current, relevant and helpful to others.

Special Note: Different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially know what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings.

    FAQ

I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?
Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.

How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?
Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month

Do I have to call for my interview date?
NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.

I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?
Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.

Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like Mexico, Ghana are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.

I need to change our interview date what do I do?
Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.

What do I need to bring to interview?
When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed. It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen.

    How to expedite at NVC?
Go to this link has good information how to go about it.

Thanks to Fabian&Ross for spelling this all out. Once you get the interview letter reference this.

You must bring the following items to the visa interview:
Any original documents the NVC requested that you did not submit (refer to the document list below) If the physician gives you your medical exam results, bring them to your interview in the envelope sealed by the medical office. Two passport photographs measuring 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) with a white background A valid unexpired passport Photocopies of all civil documents A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate more than one year ago. Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines

How to pay the Green Card Production fee of $220 on the Elis system.
NO NEED FOR ACCESS CODE, that is for other procedures like getting a copy of a green card, etc.
    1. Create the ELIS account here: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/
    2. Go here to pay fee: https://www.uscis.go...g-online-filing
    3. Click to pay the USCIS immigrant fee icon.
    4.Click "continue" at the bottom.
5.Enter the Alien Number and the NVC or DOS case. Use the same email you used on the ELIS account.
This is critical to enable your created ELIS account to receive your payment information.
    6. You will get an email confirming your payment.
    7. When you log again on the ELIS account, you will see your case number. (It is added automatically).
    8. Login into your ELIS account to track or check the status of your Green Card.
Note: Green Card process starts when immigrant enters USA and is processed at POE.

******************Tips about your getting your SSN******************
If you don't have your SSN card within 21 days of your POE,  go IN PERSON to your local SSA office and see if your  application was forwarded by the Immigration officer.   It only works about 50% of the time when you tick  the box on the DS-260. As soon as you have your SSN you  may work.  Your passport visa and the immigration stamp  is the equivalent of your green card. Thank you Sukie in NY
