  1. Hello all. Final update for our journey. Had the oath ceremony just before the holiday break started. At first it seemed a bit mundane, but when they asked the families to sit in while everyone was getting sworn in… I just felt such immense emotion and excitement and pride. Felt like I was watching a graduation! I’m so happy to be moving on to the nitty gritty of getting Mr.Idu set up as a US CITIZEN now. Waiting for the offices to reopen after their holiday breaks so we can start on the “fun” passport process. Wishing everyone luck and can’t thank visajourney.com and all y’all in the forums for great guidance and support. We were part of the group of folks pursuing the I-130/IR1 during 2020 covid height and, when everything shut down, this website kept me sane during that time. Happy New Year to all! 🎉🇺🇸
  2. Hi all! Mr. Idu’s oath ceremony has been set… finally! Happy to be at this milestone. Will update more once he’s done done.
  3. What is an ROC… removal of conditions? We received unconditional permanent res, so didn’t require the ROC. Our timeline went down to 6 months about a week before the interview was scheduled. Might not be the same circumstances, but hopefully you’re about to get an interview notice soon!
  4. I was just about to add that our timeline went down... but it doesn't matter because when I logged in to USCIS... OUR INTERVIEW NOTICE LETTER WAS POSTED! We're set for the interview on Nov 14. I'm thinking about calling to see if they do the oath ceremony the same day as well. Congrats to all. Omg! This is so freakin' exciting 😃. Now we're off to get studying.
  5. Yay! Congrats to those getting their interview dates. 🎉🎉🎉 We’re still in the waiting game. But we’ve completed the biometrics appointment, so that’s progress. Afterward, received email about updates to the application. Checked and said it is actively reviewing and the time dropped again, this time from 10 months to 9 months. Hoping for interview date soon! The biometric folx said to start studying 😬
  6. Quick update: Processing time dropped to 10 months on USCIS site. Not sure when that happened. We've been busy with stuff. Biometrics appointment scheduled for Sep 8 Just received the ROA (I think that's what it is) that we received online, in the mail Things are moving along. Continuing to put out positive vibes for a speedy process to naturalization!
  7. Here we go again! Mr. Idu submitted his n-400 as spouse (3-year)... his is within the 90 days, so just got it done for sanity's sake. He submitted online. Nothing special came of it, though. Submission was mostly smooth (had to use a different browser to upload the documents), got a receipt of the payment but nothing else so far. The site says 16 months (!!!) processing time, for a typical 5-year-based application. But, of course, we are not typical... hopefully that time will be shaved down to much less time than that! So the waiting period begins... again... I'm looking forward to the immigration saga drawing to a close. If it helps others, he filled out info for 5 years (even though he is a spouse and part of the 3-year camp) where it mattered (address, work, etc). Uploaded the following evidence documents: Marriage certificate My birth certificate Three years of tax return transcripts Three years of insurance policy documents Praying that's good enough to get us down the processing road and to the oath ceremony, swiftly. Here's to waiting together! 🙌 Sending positive and speedy processing vibes all around.
