Bigtuna got a reaction from partyintheUSA in August 2020 - AOS Filers
Yay! I got them too! So weird to get them ln Sunday night. In my case they were 4 SMS. And no NOA1 yet neither but I bet/hope they will arrive during this week.
Our package was received on August 20th and the fees cashed on September 4th.

As best as I can tell the "typical" order of for Chicago lockbox adjustments (where many of us file) is:
1. Package received
2. Payment processed
3. Digital Notifications (if at all -- some people never receive them, despite including the form)
4. Mailed notifications
@werrerr filed in Phoenix, where things may be slightly different, so I wouldn't worry about it as it relates to your case! FWIW we haven't received text/email notifications or NOA for our 8/19 package. (Payment was processed 9/4 for us as well.)

Perfect response.
USCIS is gonna suspect that you are getting some kind of benefit ($$) for bringing vietnamise women to the USA.

HI,
This will be a weird response, but...have you tried having a relationship with someone local first? I assume you have recently graduated or is still in college?
You met your soon to be Ex in 2014, dated for a year and got married, and about a year after that you started having relationship problems due to "cultural differences"...
You have only separated for a month and now are considering making the same leap in judgement again, with a woman from the same culture, but this time adding a long distance relationship and a lengthy immigration process into the mix.
Being with someone from another country is difficult. Those of us here who have successfully navigated the immigration process have also navigated the long distance relationship and cultural differences as well (for the most part). We all have our own reasons why we took this journey. But for someone young, who have just ended a relationship with a foreign national, I would recommend some time to evaluate thing first before heading down the same road again.
As far as planning to get a fiance visa "down the road", you will need to get divorced first. Fully divorced, that is. Not separated, not legally separated, etc. You will have an additional financial burden, because the I-864 for your Ex is still in affect, and you will need to support another. And you will be under further scrutiny by USCIS and/or the Embassy for sponsoring another foreign national so recently from divorcing your previous foreign national.

Bigtuna reacted to Joey94 in RFIE after 6 months still no EAD. USCIS respond to say clock reset!
Update for other people that may go through what I did and can't find answers the same way I couldn't.
It's been 18 days since USCIS updated to rsay they received my response for initial evidence.
My work permit updated to being produced yesterday and my I-485 updated 2 days ago to "was scheduled for interview".
So shocked in already getting an interview! My clock didn't reset at all it was just temporarily put on hold. The website and customer service lines give wrong information, talk to a tier 2 officer if you ever get in my situation .

Bigtuna reacted to Jacobo in Concurrent AOS (I-130 & I-485). I-130 check has been cashed, but I-485 hasn't yet. What could it be?
USCIS cashed the I-130 check 28 days after filing, and the I-485&Biometrics check, 32 days after the date of filing.

It took around 20 days for our credit card to be charged.

I think W2s and the form 1040 is enough. Is what we sent recently because the tax transcript of 2019 were not available yet.

Bigtuna got a reaction from Cilllah in New Processing time for EAD papers at national benefits center!!
I feel that this have to be something similar as when you are downloading something in your PC and the computer says the estimate is 3 minutes and all the sudden goes up to 3 days and then go back to normal.

Another Spaniard here...
My only advice would be, as some people already said, to try to condense the information in just one page (I would never write 4 page letters to USCIS) and stick to what is asked to be explained.
You guys will be fine

My 2 page explanation had our detailed future plans/plane ticket purchases to see each other and our families and now that's all a wash thanks to covid. Wishing you two the best of luck - we're all in this struggle together.

I would say that given the circumstances you can adjust status perfectly. You are in the US legally, and because of COVID-19 your plans changed... I think you will be ok. I am adjusting status from a F-1 student visa right now.
By the way, I'm from Spain too, de Sevilla! Living in DC.
Buena suerte tio

It's obvious from that paragraph that you're a real couple that wants to be married. Now that paragraph is totally unnecessary but I don't see how it will hurt.

You’re in the exact same boat my husband and I are in - I think you’re fine. We also got married for similar reasons and are adjusting status. You answered honestly. I hope the process goes fast for you both

Bigtuna reacted to Nat&Amy in Would this be a problem? (Timeline relationship)
In immigration, providing more than what you are asked for is not always better, on the very contrary. Answer what you are asked, be honest, but be aware that every time you volunteer information you were not asked for, you open yourself to further scrutiny and unnecessary hassles.

Going forward: remember that yes, you need to answer questions honestly, but you do not need to answer questions that have not been asked.

i used my explanation letter to compact a 6 year relationship (including two CRBAs, and across two continents) into a one page letter. i had to streth the margins and whatnot to make it fit.

Bigtuna reacted to Crazy Cat in Employment Verification Letter without year salary
Pay stubs are excellent evidence as they show actual payment of income........just take most recent paystub x number of pay periods per year to calculate current annual income.
