The whole job situation abroad is a tough one... bc you most likely not have that job when you move to the US.
Many living abroad get a joint sponsor. Maybe this is something you can start thinking about.
Also, USA assets are a plus.

Switching from a K1 to a CR1 will not hurt anything.  I also agree with @Hilde, in your situation, you may want to start lining up a joint sponsor.

    Good Luck!

Hi all, I want to share some good news that the Colombian Embassy posted on their website. It looks like they're finally going to resume processing immigrant visas.
Resumption of Limited, Routine Immigrant Visa Processing
Beginning March 1, 2021, we have increased the range of immigrant visa services available and resumed limited, routine immigrant visa interviews.  Among immigrant visa applications, we will prioritize emergency cases and then Immediate Relative family members of U.S. citizens including intercountry adoptions, fiancé(e)s of U.S. citizens, and certain Special Immigrant Visa applications.
As we increase the range of our immigrant services available, we’ll be processing cases in the order that the National Visa Center determined the case to be “documentarily qualified.”  When a case becomes documentarily qualified, the National Visa Center sends an email to notify you that it is complete and pending scheduling at the Embassy, so please review your past emails from the National Visa Center to determine what date your case became documentarily qualified. You may also check your CEAC account to find this date.

You are correct.  The question about current income includes the words, "that you are using to qualify....".  That's about income. You are not required to provide information about jobs that will end before your spouse immigrates.  The tax section is different and not connected to either the employment or current income sections.

Hilde reacted to D + S in Missing Police Certificate (NVC / Brazil)
Hi all! I wanted to give an update on my question in case it's helpful to anyone else. We ended up submitting a letter to NVC explaining why we couldn't submit the São Paulo police certificate at this point in time and saying that my husband will get one at a later date and bring it to his interview. NVC accepted this and DQ'ed us! His other Brazil police certificates say they're valid for three months, so I'm assuming the São Paulo one will have the same validity. Considering he no longer lives in São Paulo, does the police certificate he takes to the interview need to be valid or can he use it even if the validity period has expired? He's planning to go to Poupa Tempo during a layover in São Paulo at the end of this month, but I'm assuming that by the time he has his interview (because of COVID), the validity will have expired.

And you will also need the Federal one from Brazil:

Also, fill out your timeline. This is important to get the most accurate information from others.

Send with current passport info and in the meantime work to get new passport. They will not issue a visa unless there’s at least 6 months left in the passport.

Take note that you and the OP have different visa categories.  There's a big difference in the processing done by NVC for K1 and for CR1.  CR1 cases, like the OP's, normally undergo document qualification by NVC, which could take weeks or months.  For K1 cases like yours, there's no such document screening.  NVC just assigns case numbers and waits for the embassy to confirm when they have K1 interview slots available.  Hence no NVC processing to expedite for K1.

I've seen a news that all consulates will receive vaccine to vaccinate all employees.

So I think that all of those actions is  to be possible to resume their visa services.

Don’t think so, it just takes a very, very long time and you are without your incorrect greencard during that time. I am just one that calls many official sources to try to get info instead of asking on a forum, so just shared my thoughts with you. I do know of people in the past who have resolved POE entry mistakes, but have no idea what the current situation is. It’s easy to make phone calls and ask questions.

I emailed NVC on Feb 8th using this email: NVCExpedite@state.gov and explained my situation/reason for expedite .
I got an email back from NVC on Feb 16th saying they are reviewing my case
Then another email from NVC on  Feb 23rd saying embassy approved and that NVC will sent my case to embassy soon

If your case is with NVC, I suggest you email NVC. Then if you don't hear anything in a week or so, call them.

    1. Domicile is something the Consulate will address. What were you going to upload to show domicile?

    2. Big unknow, the whole process maybe 18 months to 2 years?

    3. Well that depends, usually Employers are looking at wanting people to start fairly soon, how quick can you move?

I don´t have any specific information to give you but just some advice:

Do not blindly rely on lawyers. Every single time I log into this website I hear horror stories about people who got information from lawyers and now their case is delayed. Take it upon yourself to read the instructions and to REALLY understand what is being asked of you. There will be new terminology and you will just need to learn the process. This will be a long and bumpy road and you might as well be in the driver´s seat of your own car.

You may still use a lawyer, if you feel that you need to. But the advice that you get here will be MUCH more accurate.

However, there are MANY questions posted daily and people who give the advice do it for free and out of their own good soul. People don´t love answering easy questions that can be found by simply reading the instructions. But most here will really do their best to help a fellow immigrant when they see you´ve done your due diligence and are still struggling.

Good luck! You seem to already be ahead of the game, because you found this website.
