I'm just curious how long of a hold up are due to background checks. It only takes a few days to run a check, not months.

I'm not sure I set it up correctly. You said, select the flag in my profile. I don't see a flag.. Is it a country flag or an icon? Do I need to be using a non-mobile browser?

I arrived in the Philippines on Monday, the 10th via Taiwan. Had it been a day later, I would have been stuck in Taipei. But now I'm stuck in the Philippines as flights are now canceled.

    Hi All,
I received my NOA1 in December, and estimated NOA2 is in late April.
I am trying to be prepared for the Embassy step of the process for both myself and Fiance in the Philippines.
Is there anything she can do now to have ready for the interview, like police clearance, CFO etc?
And for myself, what kind of paperwork can I start getting ready, I am self employed so I know my taxes will be part of it.
Can I just get copies of my taxes from my accountant or do I need them directly from IRS?
And how many years taxes do they want to see?
What else should I be getting ready?
I searched here for a list of what is needed but come up empty.
    Thanks
    Rujen

50 of those pages was proof of our meeting.. And we've only met once. Copies of itineraries, receipts, bank statements, boarding passes and a few others.

I also made a copy of every page in my passport as proof of citizenship as detailed by the guide on visajourney. I know understand it's outdated and I didn't need every page.

Many people who do have to travel like this usually spend about 4-5 days up in Manila to do Medical, CFO, and the actual interview.

Hi everyone I hope someone can help me. So my fiancé and me are filing the i-129 petition soon. He is from Aruba which is a Island in the Dutch Caribbean. For the past week we have been getting our papers together to start the process of the petiton filing, but here is what went wrong. In December my boyfriend was supposed to fly to the United States to visit my family and I, he was traveling on a ESTA. When he arrived to the immigration part he was denied entry to the United States and not allowed on the airplane. They made him sign many papers and they took away his esta and said if he wants to come back to the United States he needs a visa. After this happened we both discussed that we love eachother and decided to start the K1 visa process. As he was gathering his passport today he noticed a notation inside of it made by one of the immigration officers. The notation is 8CFR 217 .4(a)(1) which after doing so much research are the grounds of Inadmissibility and deportation in the United States. My question is now that we are applying for K1 visa does this make him inadmissible?? I was reading another story on here where someone got the same exact stamp and they got all the way up to the interview and then the embassy told them they are inadmissible and must fill out a waiver. Is their anyway to find out if your inadmissible? And also next to the notation was a alien number. Which they gave him? I don’t even know why they did that. I’m really looking for someone to help me and give some advice. Let me know what you think

Despite whether or not you have been pardoned, had charges dismissed, expunged or the likes... If you have ever been arrested/charged/convicted.. You need to mark as such.

Then provide documentation from the courts. Even if it's a statement saying No Records Exist

Hi, I am 26 years old and a Canadian citizen. I am applying for a k1 visa again with another woman from the US. My last fiancé and I broke up in Jan of 2019 and I met my current girlfriend in Feb of 2019. None of us went through the process of formally cancelling the petition. It was received by the US embassy in Ottawa in April of 2019 and I believed from the letter follow up had a window of Aug 2019. The visa wasn’t denied or approved as I did not go to the formal consulate interview. Question if I was to be a beneficiary again of a K1 visa application in Jan or Feb of this year would I have any issues?

I put NA in all fields I did not fill. With the exception of the employment and I wrote in PRESENT. The application won't allow you to use special symbols '/' in a lot of the fields.

NoMansLand2020 got a reaction from SB1089 in Evidence of proof of relationship
It's fairly easy to do yourself as long as you follow the instructions. Make sure you gather all information needed. For the I-129f, you don't need proof of a relationship, rather proof that you have met within int past two years.

Submit whatever evidence you have to show that you met.. Were in the same place together at the same time. They don't want "love letters".

NoMansLand2020 reacted to RO_AH in Please help! petitioner with criminal record
It didn't "turn into" a felony it was a felony. A lot of times a first time offender will receive a deal from the prosecutor/judge that is they stay out of trouble for a certain length of time the charge will be lowered or removed. Your fiance did not keep his end of the deal so it is now on his permanent record.

So you have a fiance convicted of DWI, dealing drugs, theft and that's just what he has told you and your biggest concern is whether he should lie about it or not? Then add that he needs to ask his mom because he is not mature enough to know his own arrest/court history?

So much I could say here but I will just answer your question. No...He should not lie. Lying to immigration can have very serious consequences just like theft, driving while intoxicated, and dealing drugs.

NoMansLand2020 got a reaction from Lemonslice in List of evidence - flight itineraries
I don't have boarding passes for everything. I had no idea I needed to hang on to anything. Boarding passes don't prove you boarded a flight. They can be printed out at a kiosk or even at home and then never used.

I have flight itineraries , hotel reservations, credit card/debit card statements, photos, passport stamp proving I left the country.  These people should be doing due diligent investigation.  It's not complicated to call an airline and ask for a passenger manifest.

I am asking if I need to put the flight itineraries  in chronological order. I had to buy separate tickets to get there as opposed to a direct flight.

e.g.  Bought RT ticket from DEN -> SFO...... Then bought RT from SFO to MNL....

So do I need to organize as such.....DEN -> SFO -> MNL ->SFO -> DEN?

Passport stamp proves you were in the country.   Boarding passes do this as well, when you have them ALL

And yes none of that proves you actually met the person ... thus you are grasping the attitude of USCIS .. they ate at Wendy's

NoMansLand2020 reacted to bakphx1 in List of evidence - flight itineraries
I put them together in order, with a label at the bottom.  You can label it “Flight to xxxx on mm/dd/yy.   1 of 3, then do the same with 2 of 3.  My assumption of putting a label at the bottom of what the salient information was would help them understand the point and not have to search or guess.

People may say only boarding passes should be submitted but I don’t see instances of RFE’s for no boarding passes.  I never saved mine.
