Leeman15251 got a reaction from millefleur in Return tickets vs one-way tickets
We bought a refundable round trip ticket and was able to get a refund on the unused portion so it end up being cheaper than a one way or even a non-refundable round trip.

If you buy a return ticket you could look into getting a refundable instead of just canceling the return. It could end up being cheaper. We did that and got the money back so the first half end up being pretty cheap.

A possible reason to not apply for naturalization would be if you decide to leave the US in the future and not want to return. You would still be required to file tax returns and be subject to different taxes, also with different legislation many foreign banks do not want Americans as clients. Since they are required to report on you back to the US government. If you wanted to renounce US citizenship it is very expensive to do, it is much easier and cheaper to give up a green card.  The are benefits that others have already mentioned as to why naturalizing is a good thing but there are negatives to consider that I feel like most on this site ignore.

Okay. That was what I was thinking but I wasn't sure since they said two weeks. I guess it's possible they found the medical after all. Thanks for your input.

My spouse traveled 2 or 3 times on his AP with no issues and none of our travel was an emergency just vacations.. Just had to go to secondary at the airport and wait for a bit. I haven’t actually found someone that had an issue using a valid AP.

We had the same issue in Ohio. They do not recognize the automatic extension for a renewal. We were able to get an expedite approved for the work permit so we could get a new license. USCIS asked for proof and we send screenshots of the BMV site and that worked for us.

I also went and looked back in the post history and something isn't quite right. In 2019 you posted that you were the immigrant and Deb was going to be filing either the K or CR. Now you and Deb have a duck farm and she is in a detention center and you are the USC who can rescue her by a quick zoom marriage but the problem is the ducks. They will have to be sold to free your love from jail. Umm. Any thoughts from the mods?

The bar for proving immigration fraud to USCIS is extremely high. They get calls and reports from angry ex-spouses/ex-lovers all the time. They are very well trained and experienced in telling the difference between immigration fraud and an ex seeking revenge. Don’t worry.
