Nicolaszz got a reaction from apond in Will I be eligible to apply for naturalization?
I got my citizenship btw officially a US citizen as of last week. I did my naturalization interview and didn’t wait until 2027 like the people on here suggested.

Got my citizenship last week didn’t have to wait until 2027 like this forum suggested. Shows how much things are over complicated. I was always told ill lose my green card before and it used to give me nightmares for months. Nothing ever happened.

https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-3
In chapter 3. Summary, it says that if your absence was less than 6 months, then you do not need to overcome a presumption of breaking the continious residence part and you are eligible to apply for naturalization. Before I came here, during the 2020-2021, when telling people that I need to make back and forth trips of a couple months to get my affairs in order, people here would tell me that it's going to make me lose my green card. Yet I never got asked a single question at customs in 4 trips overall.. I feel this forum overcomplicates things.

Nicolaszz reacted to Quarknase in FBU Italy asking me for my SSN?
You said you already replied for one - it will take it's time, but you should just wait it out. Many are in the same situation.
What you certainly DON'T want to happen is that two applications of yours are being processed, and you end up with 2 SSN. Cleaning up this mess will not be easy. The SSN is your unique identifier in the US and pretty much being used for everything later on.

Thank you
Happy to be in this beautiful country.

Yes, I'm there right now. I didn't go through Europe BTW, I went through Qatar on a Qatar Airways flight.

Nicolaszz got a reaction from Neonred in Called CBP officer.. What?!?
Yeah, we (my mom and my brother and I) received an F4 visa from my uncle, but my mom and brother already went to the US, so they're already permanent residents. I couldn't go because I was finishing my school year. So they are technically permanent residents. Only I'm not. Doesn't that mean I am allowed to enter? I called the CBP anyway and they told me I can enter, cause my mom is an LPR. I didn't tell them my visa is an F4 visa though.

So you should be fine.

Then tell your brother to pick you up. He can rent a car if he doesn't have one. I'd do the same..
You must be a very intelligent 17 year old. You hold your conversation maturely and seem to know your way around. Kudos...When I was your age, I was in secondary school. Knew nothing about immigration...

Well I just checked, I don't need a transit visa if I'm going to leave the next day. So I can fly in the morning to Newark. But the question is, is it safe to stay in London overnight lol?

Nicolaszz reacted to designguy in URGENT: Will Embassies immediately reissue F4 visas after Trump Ban?
Someone isnt a resident until their IV is endorsed by CBP. Without that, you are just as much a resident as someone without a visa

No entering the US on a B2 with the intent to adjust is fraud.

That would be the smartest move if it is available to you.
While the consulate can reissue the visa due to circumstances not under your control, they can also require lots of updated information and forms in addition to needing a new medical, visa application, fee and possible interview. And none of that will be "fast".

Nicolaszz reacted to givionte in Official Executive Order for Suspending Entry of Immigrants
Yes, leave now, because currently it is very difficult to travel, and you may have flights cancelled numerous times. Also, in 30 days the EO will be reviewed, and it's possible additional restrictions will be put in place. Additionally, most embassies are closed except for emergencies, and reissuing a visa could take months.

it appears there is a chance that extended family members might be affected. All info currently available suggest immediate family members (spouses, children under 21 and parents) of USC are exempt.

I don’t believe any President has the power to eliminate a visa classification by themselves on a permanent basis. I believe this would take an act of Congress, which I don’t see happening anytime soon.

I honestly don't know and can't advise on that. I sincerely want to console you and reduce your fears on such a situation. I could say that everything will be alright but that won't be a guarantee. But anything can be possible, especially down the line. All I can say that as of now, your husband has a right to immigrate under the F4 category because it is still an option.
The F4 category is a tough category because for years many people see it as an unnecessary category. The US is one of only a few countries in the world that offer sibling visas which is why the wait is so long. The best advice is to be well prepared for the worst but hope for the best.
