To clarify, normally they use a placeholder SSN that represents the lack of one (since some electronic systems may not permit it). This is a number in their system that is then excluded from mandatory reporting requirements that typical individuals are subject to. If/when an SSN is provided later, they can still maintain the account holder's entire history.

As others said this is just wrong. Neither are needed to add a spouse to insurance. Insurance companies have work around numbers they can use. When the spouse gets a SSN then it can be added and the work around number be removed.

    Still incorrect.
My wife got covered before her SSN came in.
Nearly every child born in the US is covered before they get an SSN as well.
An SSN or ITIN is not required for coverage.

An ITIN or SSN is NOT a requirement to obtain health insurance. That is federal law.

Unfortunately, I saw multiple threads with similar stories.
Go to https://www.uscis.gov/i-693 and download "Instructions for Form I-693"

You’re going to have to learn patience for this process. God has patience and so should you. It would be unwise to set yourself up for disappointment should you not get approved in less than 12 months (which it is extremely likely that you will not be approved in less than 12 months without I129f or an expedite). Many others at Nebraska believe in God too and so far none of them have gotten any special treatment or quick approval without expedite or I129f. Why bother asking about processing times at Nebraska if you are just going to discard any reasonable answers with a hope that you will get special treatment for approval without cause? No one here has gotten a fast approval from
nebraska without doing something for it. No one has gotten a fast approval just by sitting and waiting

We left out of Dublin. He will be fine as they will have a record of what occurred. He will just need to tell them when he goes again tomorrow what happened and that they have his packet.

SuznAaron reacted to Nat&Amy in Does anyone front-load their AOS package?
I frontloaded my application with all evidence of bonafide marriage we had (join bank accounts and credit cards, a couple of wedding pictures, leasing contract in both names, etc) and when we got to our interview the IO was waiting with an approval notice she had produced the night before, right after reviewing our file.

Applied in Dec 2018, got GC in  March 2019.

So yes, frontloading might make things easier because it gives the officer the chance to analize your evidence before you go to the interview, which is in many cases a mere formality to confirm some info and check some boxes. Even though it is not mandatory, I still have to hear about the cons of frontloading (spoiler alert: there are NONE). So if you have good, solid evidence, send it.

Hi we are also in Virginia. I am the USC. I added my fiance to the insurance policy before we were married with no problem. Just check with your insurance company. As for driving he will be allowed to sit for his drivers test both written and on the road if he holds a current valid license in his country. Once he passes the test he can be issued a Virginia driver's license and he can drive until his 90 days are up or until you receive the notification that you have filed to adjust his status. He can drive then an additional year until he gets his green card once you present the NOA to the DMV.
Also, he is allowed to drive in Virginia for 60 days  only on his own county's license  once he moves here.
