Patient Access was an App already installed, but also there is a website too. Initially it showed very little until we asked GP Reception to grant FULL medical record access. After a week it was done and all consultations going back many years then showed up. Current and past medication and the all important summery record. There is also the NHS App, although in our case Patent Access worked. You can download and print the summery along with medications to include any major or on-going health issues. Some GP Surgeries can give you a hard time, but ultimately they have a legal duty to provide access, albeit in certain limited circumstances it can be denied. Once access is granted there is no expiration.

Just get Patient Access and then you can download and print your own record. Contacted the GP surgery about three months ago in anticipation of the eventual medical. It had taken them about a week to grant access and notify us. With access you are in control to view and print in your own home, otherwise you’re at the mercy of others.

Did you download the SCR from Patient Access? Once you’ve asked GP reception they will give you access within a day or two. You’ll then have the ability to read, download, save and print consultation notes. Some past issues that are long gone do show as current. A sore throat from 10 years ago that is listing as current isn't obviously going to be a problem. Your mental health diagnosis letter will though. It would be prudent to print along with current status.

Your tax filing obligations are generally the same wherever in the world you reside. If you work in the U.K. file a 2555 to exclude income. File a 1116 for any tax paid on investment income. File a FinCEN114 and 8938 if thresholds require this. Remember that ISA’s and other HMRC tax free items are taxable to the IRS. TaxAct is an intuitive preparation software if you go it alone.

If you have $10,000 either real or on paper, (you transfer monies from accounts - double counting). You will need to file FinCEN 114.

Even if you’re fit and well, it’s those unexpected accidents that could cause devastating  financial consequences for the uninsured. Putting one’s hand in one’s pocket for medical coverage is a part of everyday life in the U.S. Ultimately premiums are so tiny compared with the hundreds of thousands of dollars of bills that you’d be faced with.

Tesco reacted to Penguin_ie in Negative attitudes in the forum
I wanted to address the negative attitudes we have seen on the rise recently in the upper/ immigration forums towards those who ask beginner/ simple questions, or have unusually fast or slow VisaJourneys.

First, there is a tone difference between the Progress forums- which are mostly for support and cheerleading, and the Info forums, which are mostly to have questions answered.   While all our forums are supposed to be welcoming to all and friendly, this is especially important in the Progress forums, which are not to discuss politics, or be negative towards  those fortunate to have their case dealt with quickly, or  critical of those who voice sadness about their own slow progress. These forums are there to uplift eachother!

Secondly- in the info forums, you may get bad news.  When a question is asked, our members are encouraged to answer truthfully, even if this may not be what the Op wants to hear, because it is important to be informed.  However, the emphasis is still on being welcoming and friendly.  If you need to give bad news, do so gently, and stick to facts; constructive criticism of the Op's plans ARE allowed, but the emphasis is on constructive.  No need to dwell on mistakes (or tell members they should be on 90 Day Fiance- that is a personal attack and automatic suspension), or  illegal actions in the past- instead, encourage and explain legal options for the future.  And ONLY legal options- as per our TOS, VJ does not support, condone or encourage illegal (immigration) actions, and such posts will be removed.

Ultimately, we are here to help all members, old and new, easy cases and complicated, those who write a fact filled bullet point post and those who are panicking and don't make much sense in their first post. Yes, sometimes questions can be easily googled, or answered via a search of our forums.  But if you feel that way, just scroll past- no need to criticise the OP for asking the question.

Some have been able to get an expedite at the NVC and consulate/embassy interview stages with a US job offer letter, all you can do is try and see what happens.  The USC spouse can return to the US at any time to accept and start the new job, so the expedite is unlikely but not impossible.  Separation from our foreign spouses is often an unavoidable part of the process.  Hopefully it won't be too many more months, so the separation could be brief.  Count yourselves lucky that you have been together for most of the process so far.  Good luck!

No.  Consulates are not authorized to accept an I-130 if one has been previously filed stateside.

FBAR form FinCEN 114. You report the value of all foreign accounts if the total value is greater the $10,000, As you upload this form, you can add the year in question and there is also a field:

If this report is being filed late, select the reason for filing late

You can then add a pre-populated reason for failure to file, or free format option They only need the maximum value. It is not an IRS form, they can't help

FACTA form 8938 (an IRS form) goes into way more complexities and would be used by individuals with at least $50,000 in foreign assets. The form dives deep into detail. There are similarities between the two forms, regrettably, if qualified you'd need to file both

It would only be your income (MFJ). The 2555 is for foreign earned income, this income maybe yours, this excludes 105k (ish) of income.

Also consider if you need a GP letter; should your medical history dictate. If so this would be more pressing under the circumstances.

If you have/had any mental health issues, a letter from your GP would be prudent. Not being a risk to yourself or others, self harm, suicide will come up at the medical.

    Hello,

The eligibility for this plan is based upon the residence country.

If the residence country is considered to be the United States then no plans would be available. If an address outside of the United States is used then the plan would be available based upon the home country being outside of the United States.

The wording included 'New Immigrant', as such they would be regarded as a Legal Permanent Resident on application of an I-551 stamp at the port or entry to the U.S. Clearly, as a new U.S resident, this would be their new resident country.

You would  need to put the ‘residence address’ outside the US as the current application does not support putting the US address.

The insurance company had announced earlier that they would adjust the application to avoid the confusion but they have not taken any action yet.

I tried and failed... It would not allow a U.S. address to be used. I even emailed the company, asking about their other policies too... Eventually they confessed that their policies are no good for immigrants... I'd guess that K1's would be OK though, as technically not an immigrant. I'd advise caution.
