How do medical exams work for London Embassy? Do you have to see the GP surgery first & if so, what kind of document does the GP need to provide for you to take to the immigration medical exam?

Probably would be best to see if this has been asked before

YMMV

If you have/had any mental health issues, a letter from your GP would be prudent. Not being a risk to yourself or others, self harm, suicide will come up at the medical.

that's all great info, but doesn't address my question about GP surgery prior to the immigration specific medical exam. you're great at research, but this question is more specific than what you found

Does the instructions from the London consulate say you MUST visit your GP prior to your immigration medical?  NO it doesn't.

YMMV

Yeah,  you asked if you must visit your GP versus getting a health summary for ongoing conditions and then only if it applies.

YMMV

thanks so much for your reply, very helpful! Is the letter from GP absolutely necessary if none of those mental health problems (or any problems for that matter) exist?

So it does not say you must visit you GP.  I assume most people do not have ongoing issues.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

none of what you said actually answers the question, but its fine, I found out from others. Not sure why you're so concerned with being on this thread when you processed from an entirely different embassy

Your profile says Greece?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Yes you visit your surgery because you need your shot records, possibly a shot, and your NHS health care summary. Any current or previous conditions or surgeries will have to be addressed in a short write up from your GP.
