Looking at the stats for B1/B2 visas issued in Uganda for May 732 and april 1,867
so,  these people were able to prove their intent to return to home by: such things as the following:
 
owning property
having a  job to return to
having the assets to sponsor their own vacation
 
this basically is what the CO is suppose to review
my MIL did inherit a house when her parents died but the family had not hired a lawyer to get the names changed by time of 1st B1/B2 application/  we did it after her 1st denial and it seemed to have changed the visa outcome 
so,  these things are important
 
i still agree that the decision is made when the CO reviews the application ahead of the interview and either believes the person will return or suspects  they intend to stay in US

Like everyone else, getting an appointment with IOM seems to be the next hurdle.  At least things seem to be moving. 

Not taking required vaccines is certainly your own decision.  It's also the decision of countries you want to travel to, to not to let you in if you don't have the required vaccines.

I am so excited!We just received news this morning that our Petition was sent to the Embassy

The April VISA reports for 2021 show K1s from the Nairobi embassy are being issued at a higher rate than pre-covid.   It would seem they are out of valid reasons to sue

I would just comment that the 5,000 backlog number can't only be IR/CR1s, but all VISA categories.  In the best of times (before COVID), Nairobi was processing at most 150 IR/CR1s a month.  If they had 5,000 IR1/CR1 backlogged cases on hand that would mean they had around 3 years worth of IR1/CR1 cases backlogged.    That isn't possible. 

Prior to COVID, Nairobi was processing about 2,500 VISAs a month across all visa categories (most of which are B1/B2 VISAS), so if they had 5,000 backlogged cases on post then they would have about a 2 month backlog.  This seems about right.

Based on what we were hearing from several others, NVC started sending new IR1/CR1/K1 cases to Nairobi first of March.  This means they had cleared out the backlog of these kinds of cases and were processing new ones.   I feel pretty confident they were processing cases with DQs in mid-late April 2020 right when the latest COVID spike came in Kenya. 

I wanted to make this clarification so people don't freak out thinking there are 5,000 IR1/CR1 cases sitting at the Nairobi embassy right now.  This simply is not possible.  

Being alone and apart is one thing.  Going through the COVID lockdowns + being separated was as entire new level of difficult.

In my state, we all had to work at home from March - First part of June.  I didn't see or interact with anyone except a trip to the store for food/supplies once or twice a week for 3 months.   This was an extremely dark time.   I was about 13 months without seeing my wife between back end of 2019 and until Dec 2020.

Directly to the OP question of how do you deal with it?   One day at a time....

This was a CR1 person with  DQ in late April 2020.  They has an interview April 7th and the VISA is being issued 

Who knows what is going on.  They say they process in order of DQs.  I know of people with April DQs who got interviews this month.

When did you get an invite for an interview.  Was it just recently or are you part of the group that was canceled and then re-scheduled before COVID?

I just don't think this really tells us much.  We don't know how many files the NVC would typically have on hand and so we don't know how much bigger the current backlog is than baseline.  

What's more important, we don't know how many backed up cases are Nairobi cases.  

I am going to reporting the website to the Texas bar association.  I am a licensed engineer and so I know the state agencies take licensing issues pretty seriously. They will certainly go after the registered owner of the website since it will be one of practicing law without a license.   
 
I honestly don't have the energy to do much more than this.   I may try and call the real Duke Walker since it appears he still has an office in Texas. 

I wanted to post a warning here so that perhaps it will prevent this guy from taking advantage of people just trying to complete the immigration process.

Listen, there is nothing that I'd want more than to see Biden fix the quagmire that's going on right now.  I don't like living in another country from my wife -- I want to be with her.  It's been nearly 2 years since we filed our I-130 and there is still no end in sight.
 
Quite frankly, the only thing it seems Biden has done immigration wise so far is help illegals.   I see little, if any, evidence that he's doing anything to help us who are doing immigration legally.
 
Yes, Biden could very likely fix some this with a phone call.  He could pick up the phone and call Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of State, and say:  Hey Tony, I need you to do something about what's going on with interviews at our embassies.  These interviews are just happening entirely too slow -- we need to do better.  I'd like you to prioritize processing of family related VISAs because we here in the US care about our families.   Please get back to me as soon as you have a plan to make it happen.
 
Since President Biden is Antony Blinken's boss,  Blinken would have to actually do what Biden asked him to do.  Don't you have to do what your boss asks you to do?
