We got a letter from SSA saying I was not accepted to receive a SSN at the time.

Generally, the immigrant visa will expire 6 months from the date of the medical.

We brought the original marriage certificate. They returned it after making a copy.
My wife got the physical beforehand, and I think that is required. The physical included the eye exam portion IIRC (she doesn't need glasses to drive and never tested her vision).

I have seen an instance here on VJ where someone received their SSN before being approved and they were then issued a second number and card because they checked “yes” on their form. They had to go back to the SSA to have it removed from the system because having more than one SSN is apparently a crime (I’m not the USC, so not totally familiar with how things work here). I definitely think it would be best to just err on the side of caution by saying “no” and avoiding another headache.

It doesn’t really matter what you select for that question. If you ask for an SSN on the I-765, they will see that you are already in the process of being issued your SSN, and you wouldn’t receive a second SSN.

Don't wait for your SSN. There is no advantage to having your SSN filled in on your AOS forms. Get your package in the mail as soon as you are confident everything else in it looks good.

    Hi, Usaph!

I believe you need to include copies of the marriage certificate in each application.  I was told by a friend who went through the AOS process that different offices (desks, at at the very least) process each one.

In the USCIS website, they prefer the documents to not be clipped or stapled.  They prefer them to be hole-punched, check their site out.

Not sure how to answer the last point, maybe someone here can help?

    Thanks!

We got 5, didn't need that many.  SSA wanted an original certified copy (where they could feel the seal) .. everyone else was happy with copies of the certified copy.    We used 2  of the original certified copies

Without looking at the SS-5 (everything required is listed there) I would say that is about it.

I don't know how this is bad.
Only thing i see is bad is this counterfeit racist media that is bashing Trump where there is no reason to.
I taught it effects me(even tho i have green card waiting for i751), because i even found articles where they are gonna start taking our green cards at airport(fake news). This freaked me out for no reason, and i skipped my trip, to visit my sick father because of fake news. Like they seriously can mess up someones life just because they are demonizing Trump.
Like who the hell wants people that are abusing system, have you guys seen those poor cities in California, where people pay everything with EBT cards, dont pay taxes until they make 10 kids so they can get money back, get insurance, housing for free without even being legal. I mean even Americans shouldn't do that for granted(just my opinion) but as temporary help, meanwhile they see is at way permanent thing, and also all of those child support things, while at the same time being racist and blaming people, by saying that"they hate their race", where its not race thing, its just awful selection of immigrants representing all of us in a bad light, which are trying to do good. Because of them even i my self, when i think about word immigrant, first thing that comes to my mind is uneducated person with low IQ, selfish, and racist. Yeah that is awful. Racism that boils in that is awful, because media is feeding them  by telling them they are at that position because of their race.
From what i understand this affects only people that don't have green cards, and even if u were abusing gov money, like it doesnt matter if u dont do it after oct 15. Even if u do it after oct 15, u can get papers possibly after 36 months. What do people want more, and how is this a bad thing? Racist people that take young engineers, doctors and similar professions(even from their own country) spot by living here like leeches is what is really racist and unfair.
I see someone asking does it affect people filling i751. No it doesn't. I took fee waivers at college(i didnt get free money) i was scared that'll affect me. I always taught going to college is a good thing for uscis(which it probably  is). I talked to lawyer and he clarified it that it doesnt effect us, even tho we are conditional residents, we are still permanent residents, and if u got your first GC, you are not affected by this! Sorry for mistypes, i kinda wrote long post on the go.

The "sponsoring a family member who will immigrate more than 6 months" etc is really for immigrants who already have started the visa process or who have been approved and will just come later as follow to joins.
It's safe to leave him out as your plans are to apply for a separate visa petition for him.

Usaph reacted to geowrian in Ontario to Pennsylvania driver's license questions for K1
Those rules are for visitors. As a K-1 entrant, you would generally fall under the new resident rules: https://www.dmv.pa.gov/Driver-Services/New-Resident-Relocation-Information/New Residents/Pages/Info-For-New-Residents.aspx
Under that, you have 60 days of use of the foreign license.

You can get a license in PA under K-1 status within the first 90 days with your passport + I-94 + Social Security Card + marriage certificate (yes this is required! what a hassle it was to drive home to get this for us...) + completed application.

In Tucson, AZ we hand carried the completed marriage license to the county recorder, then requested certified copies, the were very nice and got the marriage license recorded and issued us our certified copies within a hour.  Then we stopped by SSA .. heck of a day.

EAD and AP even when filed at the same time with AOS are still processed separately. Because of this you have to include a copy of certain required documents with each one. (For example, all 3 need a copy of passport bio page, I94, Noa2, etc.)

Here's the list. It's the first post on the thread.

The rush to file the AOS is in part because immigrants need or want to work or travel, and they want to get their paperwork into the very long queues.

The supporting documents (evidence of bona fide relationship) isn't required until the AOS interview stage.  The only requirement for AOS filing  is the marriage certificate. But some swear by front loading.

    Just depends on your preference.

It's also better to file within 90 days so you/your fiance doesn't lose status.
