This is probably my last post here, but my spouse's 751 just got approved today at 10/17/2023 and new green card is produced.

She has no intention of applying for a citizenship, and I guess our journey ends here for now.
Thank you everyone for the help here, and hope yours is approved in no time as well.

Rexxx got a reaction from Sherry Nguyen in Called request for expedite, waiting for approval
Just question for anyone who got expedited on i-130, what is the process like?

I called military hotline to explain the situation, I said my wife was on my order(married on oversea tour), and won't be able to come without a proper VISA, and I also mentioned that I am highly possible deployment coming up next year ( just stating the fact that my deployment windows will be open ...) and the person on the phone actually just accepted my request, and then provided me an request for expedite confirmation number or something, and told me just to wait about a week to see if it gets approved or need additional paperwork via email.

I am active duty member, I am not tasking to deploy as of right now, am I just lucky this person over the phone just requested it for me ( read some post that some agent over the phone won't even accept request if not deploying) ?

Did anyone get lucky too that one phone called expedited the petition without any documents?  Just curious how this whole thing works.

As an active duty military member, I am not deploying anytime soon, and I filled i130 using normal route.
However, after a month of waiting,  I read USCIS, DOS, and US Embassy does review expedite request in a case by case basis, then I thought why not give it a try.

All I did was to ask my supervisor to write a official letter ( not my commanding officer) addressed to USCIS, explaining my situation and possible deployment (as an AD military, we all are possible to deploy anytime). I sent out the letter once its been reviewed through my peers and did some revision, USCIS received second day, and the case got approved the next day and got sent to NVC

While waiting my case to get to NVC, I have been contacting US Embassy over email,  they even pre-approved my expedite request long before my case reached NVC. What happen was as soon as NVC received my case and assigned my case number, I got a second email saying it;s on its way to US Embassy, skipping whole NVC stage. All these happened within 10 minutes.

One day after US Embassy received the case, they sent me the welcome letter, required documents to bring to the interview, and the actual interview day immediately.

All I am trying to say is, go TRY. It can be done even if we are not deploying. Don't say NO to yourself before they said no, the worst thing can happen is they say no and the petition will still go on normal processing time, won't cause any delay anyway.

Same here, but I didn’t submit anything to CEAC, your Embassy should sent you an email soon about what you should do and what document you should prepare for the interview..
however, in the meantime, you should still complete the DS-260 application online, you just don’t have to submit photos, paperworks, And you saved AOS fee~

I actually expedited my case at Embassy level, and I never found out NVC has received my case or not.
The second email I got after my i130 approval notice, my case went straight from NVC to Embassy.

First of the all, I got mind approved within 2 months.
At first I thought I was expedited because I was military, but it turns out it's only because my receipt number start with IOE, the new filing system. ( perhaps being in the military did helped a bit)
anyway,  that's not the point, today I received an email reply from NVC, and told me it was approved faster simply because I was under the new system.
So, for petitioner who got a receipt number start with IOE, this is definitely a good new to you all.

below are the exact email reply from NVC
"Greetings from the Department of State's National Visa Center (NVC). We are contacting you regarding your recently approved immigrant visa petition. Based on your USCIS receipt number, your case benefited from a pilot electronic process for the I-130 petition. USCIS reviewed and approved your petition faster than average cases of this type as we develop the fully electronic transfer of data from USCIS to the Department of State.  We thank you for your patience while we continue to refine our process with these electronic petitions. We wanted to alert you that it will likely take longer than the 30-day timeframe mentioned on USCIS's approval notice to you. Despite this delay, please rest assured that we expect the overall time between filing your petition and completing processing with NVC will be far faster than average for this petition type. When we complete the data entry for your case you will be notified by email or letter.  This will include instructions on how to log into the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) to begin case processing with NVC.

Hmmm, that’s strange. I was indeed able to add my case to my online account using the code they mailed me when I received my NOA1, however, there is no status update or whatnot under my account, even until today I can’t see my application status even though it’s already been approved.

Odd, I wonder if that was one of their initial kinks in the system for these applications. Mine has listed a case status since I created the account, so seems as thought they've worked that out.🤞

but no, I dont really have any way to keep up to the case, I would  say keep calling the USCIS..that's what I did, they are the only who can tell you the most up to date status of your case.

Oh shoot, I just read your timeline, I’m not really expert in this, but that looks that’s way too long in NVC stage.

I actually requested expedite via email with Embassy. I explained a bit about my situation and reasons to expedite, They replied me back say they want the NOA2 to be scanned to them. That’s it.
As to my understanding so far, if you do request over the phone, they will still ask you to send in “supporting document” to justify what you said on the phone is true.
