I have been reading in the forum but i just want to confirm ... when you request for an expedite at the USCIS stage and it gets approved, do you still have to go through the NVC process like normal or do you skip NVC? From what I understood, if the expedite at USCIS is approved, then you go through NVC as normal unless you ask for an expedite there too. Is that correct?

i'm asking because for timeline reasons we would like request to expedite the i-130 if it is not approved soon (we have been waiting almost a year), but not the NVC part.

Yes you will have to request another expedite on NVC even if you were already expedite on USCIS part. And approval of expedite request is totally up to the Embassy.

I just went through the process,  call NVC, they will take your request, then ask Embassy if they going to take it or not.

i got lucky on this one, I contacted Embassy directly, they approved my request, then ask NVC to send them all files directly.

Thanks! So you had to call USCIS, NVC and the embassy to request an expedite on each? my husband has pcs orders overseas, but i won't have time off to travel and get the medical done until january, so we want to speed up the process a little bit, but not too much! Seeing your timeline helps me a lot to get a good idea about the process!

Another question, when you expedited at NVC, did you still have to send all the documents needed there, or to the embassy?

Not exactly, NORMAL route is you call the NVC for expedite request, NVC will contact Embassy to see if they will accept your request, you don’t contact Embassy.

However, I’ve never talk to NVC myself, their hotline is always busy and will not allow you to wait in line as well, the automatic voice message will just to say call again later.

I then think about the other way, since Embassy is the one giving the final approval, I contacted Embassy myself, they are nice enough to approve my expedite request, Embassy then contacted NVC for me(they definitely have an insider hotline) , the next morning, I got my case# and my case is being transfer to Embassy for final check and scheduled interview.

for document wise, I didn’t send any document to Embassy except the NOA2( i130 APPROVAL NOTICE) I got from USCIS.

If you did it over the phone, does that mean you didn’t have to send in evidence for your case to be expedited? And could you share a little bot of the basis for your expedite, we have been in this process for 2 years already

Oh shoot, I just read your timeline, I’m not really expert in this, but that looks that’s way too long in NVC stage.

I actually requested expedite via email with Embassy. I explained a bit about my situation and reasons to expedite, They replied me back say they want the NOA2 to be scanned to them. That’s it.

As to my understanding so far, if you do request over the phone, they will still ask you to send in “supporting document” to justify what you said on the phone is true.

I tried to do that but I can’t find who I need to talk to. The embassy’s line is very confusing
