Depends. What issue do you believe an attorney would be helpful with?
If you can't answer that one, it raises the question of why one is needed.

FilAm24 reacted to SalishSea in Is 12 days before end of K1 visa enough time to get married & send of AOS?
The only requirement is that you marry within the 90 days.  The I-485 does not technically have to be sent off within that 90 days, although it is recommended so that you are in a period of authorized stay.

Keep in mind that the time required to obtain a certified copy of the marriage certificate really varies by jurisdiction - anywhere from same day to weeks.  You might want to research this for your particular county.

FilAm24 reacted to geowrian in Why some K1 processes are super fast?
Some cases are expedited. A lot of military cases do this, but it’s not limited to just that.
    Some people just get lucky.

Other people get stuck in background checks, verification of documents, etc. Also, some consulates are severely backlogged, taking several months (or longer) to just get an interview.

Most of the super expericenced VJ members that have given advise not to go the AOS route are through the process since a long time and they/their spouses have meantime even become US citizens. Others have been through the AOS / K1 process as well, so they do not recomend it based on their own expericence. So why would they be biased?

Also... Most of the VJ members could have just done the exact same thing. Traveled to the US as visitors and adjusted status - but we chose to do it the legal way - including me!

I know it's only illegal if you come to the US claiming you're a visitor, but really have immigrant intent. But com'on! How high is the percentage of people that would really not intend to get married by the time they travel to the US? I mean who can actually leave their entire life behind in the blink of an eye (existing leases, jobs, vehicles, family....)?

Not saying that the OP's girlfriend did know about him possibly proposing and wanting to get married in the US at the time of her arrival, but:
After a partnership of 7 years, I'm sure this topic would have came up at some point before her coming to the US including the discussion of possible ways on how to do it. She is currently studying to get her license to practice (medicine?) in the US. So she clearly has an immigrant intent, even if not this very minute. Trust me, I understand how annoying it is to wait on the entire CR1/IR1 immigration process - we got Nebraska 😩⏳
But the OP asked what the best way for him and his girlfriend is - given the explained circumstances. I think most people on VJ are just speaking the truth and do not sugar-coat the K1 or AOS process. As many said, you might be able to be together faster, but it has it's price like the AOS restrictions, additional expenses, more forms to file, conditional greencard, financial burden (we don't know anything about the OP's financial situation and if he'd need joint-sponsors), etc.

In the end, everyone is free to do whatever they want if they can live with the outcome/result of their choices. For the OP, this really might be the best solution, but I don't think it's fair to claim honest people to be biased, just because we have a different opinion.

Words of caution.  You NEED to wait at least 60 days, though recommend at least 90 days of her being in the U.S. before you get married, longer if possible.  During the process, they will investigate the issue heavily if you get married to quickly.  Basically, if they will think that she came on a non-immigrant visa, with the intention of getting married.  They could prove visa fraud, which would likely result in a denial of the I-130, and a permanent bar from the US.

So she’s left all her belongings back home? What about returning her apartment keys to the landlord or selling her home? What about her vehicle? Does she have all the documents here that she needs for adjustment of status (birth certificate, etc)?

Is this really what she wants? What’s the point of studying hard for those exams right now if she can’t work for many, many months anyway? Not being able to work for that long would have been career suicide for me. Six months out takes around 18 months to recover from in my profession. Plus the loss of income. Sure you’ll get to kiss her every day and sleep with her every night but this is a long-term decision you are making. Short cuts aren’t always the best way.

I did consider dressing very nicely for the interview, but I can tell you that since I usually wear casual clothes, I realised I wouldn't feel on ease if I had dressed up. The interview is pretty stressful, so I'd say make sure you feel as relaxed as possible and just stay yourself. Of course one should dress neatly and look fresh, but I believe overdoing it can easily be quite counterproductive.

I wore a pair decent jeans (no holes, not too tight, no studs) and comfortable hoodie and my visa was approved just like that of other people in the waiting room whom I saw wear business-like clothes or summery pants and shirts.

you supposed to take the visa interview seriously and of course you must include dressing up appropriately but getting a visa approved is not base on how you dress up..Its always depend on the case and not how you dress up during interview 😊😊im just saying

I have yet to see a single case of a visa being issued or refused, or the timeline for such, based on attire.
Sure, if you don't meet the basics then you could be denied entry (no shirt, no shoes, no service), and taking the process too lax is never a good sign, but a visa will only be issued based on the merits of the case.

I would also point out that many people ITT understand the lack of IT infrastructure. Most of us either immigrated or are family members of those who did. My wife came from a small province in PH, where IT infrastructure is definitely lacking.
Or worse, some of us came from areas where they actually do monitor and/or severely restrict access (i.e. KSA, which is where my wife worked while we dated).

This explanation is somehow even... more confusing? So you are saying she didn't want to input her username information only (no passwords) into a secure form because she was worried about the security of the IT infrastructure? How does she ever feel secure even logging into social media, using both her username and password,  on a much less secure platform, then?

Why are you bothering to explain the stress of the immigration process to seasoned veterans on an... immigration forum? There's an expression about preaching and choirs that come to mind.

If you were working through the form with her over the phone, and she has trouble with English, it's sort of on you to have explained the importance of her listing her usernames.

I honestly don't see why providing social media information, which is pretty 'out there' anyway, is a big deal but giving them your address, date of birth, your sponsor's social security number, tax information etc., is somehow deemed safer to share. I think the beneficiary has made a mountain out of a relative molehill in the whole scheme of giving personal info to the USCIS. They're very good at finding out things about you; that's what they're supposed to do. Social media is the least of the beneficiary's worries, unless indeed they have something to hide.

She doesnt want to provide social media info because she fears being hacked (by the US Gov't?) i mean, pretty sure they can do that regardless if they truly wanted to but mmmmkay... but you were both giving every single private detail about yourselves that in the wrong hands could truly mess up your life for YEARS and be more than an irritation? mmmmmkay then. 🙄

So she’s happy to consent to a medical, let them see her birth certificate, give them her birthdate, full name, address, email address, provide her passport number and possibly credit card details (depending on how she intends to pay the visa fee), have her photo and fingerprints taken but is worried someone might hack her Facebook account?

Hmm that makes perfect sense. What exactly does she think the government is going to do with her Facebook account that will cause more damage then anyone could do with the information that she did provide?
