Had my interview today. I live closer to San Francisco, and my biometrics were done there, but for some reason the interview was scheduled to be further away in San Jose, and to be a few days before our 2 year anniversary. I know they move cases around to speed up processing, but that's certainly suspicious.

Interviewer was really grumpy with my wife and I for only having passports, and not a Real ID, saying that it's common knowledge that everyone goes to the DMV to get one, despite the fact that neither my wife nor I drive, nor have really even heard that much about Real IDs before at all. Then she wasn't happy that we only brought a copy of the marriage certificate and not the original - tbf that's my fault for not checking that, but honestly I have no idea what they want to bring to the interview. I printed out a lot of sheets filling a thick folder, but she hardly asked to see any of it... what's the point of that big checklist on the letter when they don't actually use it?

Questions were pretty simple, just asked about how we met, how long we were together before getting married, little bit about our parents, and then just going over the forms (confirm address, confirm phone numbers, all the "have you ever been arrested" etc. questions). At the end she said that she needs to go over everything and then maybe we'll get approved, or she'll call us.

Hopefully we'll get an update of approval on Monday so we won't have to go through all this again for removal of conditions.

Also San Francisco here. Ready to schedule interview since 24th July 2019, filing date 18th October 2018.

Also still waiting for EAD/AP at 335 days now, but the ombudsman emailed me this morning saying they've contacted USCIS about it.

I agree. My local office is also San Francisco, and I'm still waiting for my EAD/AP after 11 months! Wife and I filed October 18th 2018, had 2 RFEs, went ready to schedule for interview on July 24th 2019, but no update on EAD/AP at all. Sent 3 service requests to USCIS, contacted a senator with no response, and also submitted a case assistance request to the ombudsman earlier today.

The trackers are terribly inaccurate. One of them hasn't updated since May for me, despite since then having an RFE, ready to schedule for interview and 3 service requests that I can't actually see the status of.

Im so tired of this sh*t, how they can think that it’s normal that’s someone wait that long without working, even the processing time they do not respect it, I know 100 % that I put my birth certificate with a good translation, they still send me an RFE, and this happens to a lot of people, honestly I’m losing hope, I miss my mom a lot in France, what they do it’s not fair, so because we have an RFE we can’t make an inquiry?
And Ready to be scheduled for an Interview, how long it’s take? It is for the green card ? Or for the work and travel, I’m lost
Honestly i see people who are waiting so long, that a shame, courage to everyone

Woohoooooo! We received my husband's Green Card through the post today (just a day shy of his 1-year anniversary since moving the US!) We finally popped the bottle of champagne we've been saving since our wedding, and we're officially USCIS-free for quite some time! ...Now to start officially planing our trip back to England in over a year to visit family! 🎉

It feels pretty surreal that this day is finally here, and I'm so thankful for all the support and encouragement from you all. I'm still here rooting for anyone still waiting on EAD/AP and the GC. If anyone has any questions about anything, feel free to DM me! I may not be checking VJ quite so much for a while, but feel free to get in touch if you have any questions along the way, or just need someone to vent to. I'll be happy to help in any way I can. Good luck, everyone! 🧡🧡🧡

And even if your field office is generally fast, your particular case might be slow for some reason.

I used my AP on Wednesday. Can't believe how nervous I was using it but Seattle was wonderful. So we went to the US line and my husband said to the officer jokingly, "oh I'm bringing you trouble Sir" (I eye rolled and said oh I have AP) - he was thee nicest officer I've ever encountered in immigration and was nice that he was cracking little jokes. He laughed and said my pic has seen better days (so I'm going to beg for a new photo next week) haha

Was wonderful to be on familiar grounds in the UK and the Netherlands. Looking forward to my interview on Thursday.

EAD and AP are both completely free to file for with an I-485. Even if you don't think you need it now, you should apply just in case you do need them later (e.g. want to work, want a holiday abroad, family emergency back home etc.)

Wife and I live in the SF bay area: our rent is $1700 for a very small place, and despite my wife getting promoted to manager at her store (and talks about becoming regional manager), her boss is so cheap and gives the tiniest raises.

Before we filed for AOS, we lived comfortably on my income as a programmer (over $100k), but I've had to leave that job since Nov 2018 and now we don't have the budget to do anything. Doesn't help that we thought I'd be back at work months ago so we've gone through our savings. Most of the time I leave the house it's to go to Trader Joe's, take my laptop to the library to have a change of scenery, or go sit at Coyote Point beach and watch the planes land at SFO (I'm a transport nerd). Also ironically, once I'm back at work our expenses could be lower as my job provides breakfast, lunch and a free train pass.

Our local humane society does accept volunteers, but only if you can guarantee you'll be free for a whole year, so at the time I didn't apply cause I was only supposed to be unemployed for a few months.

Yes end of September. Will be bringing EVERYTHING! I’m just worried they won’t let him back in even though he has emergency AP (which obviously they don’t know about?!!) and that they will cancel the Interview thinking he’s left the country?? It’s all just too much stress. Every day feels like an eternity of waiting!

Not sure whether taking multiple avenues will help or hinder. Perhaps it depends on how your politician feels towards immigrants as to whether they're more helpful or not.

For me, I'm gonna call them soon, if I get a barely-an-answer like I assume I will, them I'm gonna compare the 3 politicians I can ask to see which wil likely help more, or if I should just go straight to the ombudsman.

No idea what that operator is on about. Call them again and see if you can get to someone different because that operator doesn't know what they're doing. When prompted for case number, did you enter the EAD's number or the AOS's number?

I'm still waiting for my EAD since October. They ignored my first service request sent in July. I called them last week and all they could do was send another saying I'll hear by email within a week (or by letter within 2). Might call them again today or tomorrow, and if it's not good news, time to get politicians and ombudsman involved.
