None of your tax filing make sense.

A "single individuals" filer has higher tax brackets than "Married Individuals" filing joint. Also has higher deduction as filing Married joint filer.

Even filing as "Head of Household" get more tax refund.

The only two tax credit for a dependent (Nephew) are "Earning Income Credit" and "Child Tax Credit:
The only way your wife will qualify either your age is under 17 by the end of the filing year or a full time student under age of 24.

If that is the case you and your wife need to file a 1040X for 2017, with the correction amount own plus penalty.

SJordanS got a reaction from cspence10 in Email from Visa Journey
I actually got the same thing. Its estimated and it estimated that I was supposed to get my NOA2 in February. I was to say it was based on what USCIS  "QUOTED" October filers like myself at that time and also based on the trend here on VJ as well. But wouldnt I be so lucky if it were true. But that date came and left sadly with no approval   still waiting...HOWEVER...at the time I filed, USCIS really WAS quoting 5 1/2 months to 7 months so otherwise VJ was right on.

SJordanS reacted to Crazy Cat in When to apply for Advanced Parole (I-131)
Advance Parole and EAD are taking about 4-6 months according to other VJ members......She can't apply for advance parole until she has entered the US via her K-1 visa.  It is recommended to submit the I-485, I-131, and I-765 together to minimize fees.....If her ability to immediately work in the US is a priority, then perhaps a CR-1 visa would have fit your situation better.

I’d say non-monetary gifts would normal, but past that ya, I think you’re getting into questionable territory when more money is involved, ESPECIALLY when the conversation rate may make 20 USD be worth A LOT more in the fiancés country.

And I agree about certain situations, For myself personally, my husband (fiancé at the time) paid half my rent with my father and sent any extra money if needed for the last two years of our three years of dating. But he was also aware that I had to stay home with my disabled daughter, that I couldn’t work until he arrived, and he visited every 2-3 months.

At no point ever did we think we should have used that as proof for the K-1 visa LOL

There is a wonderful mix of MENA vj'ers ---------some have their SO's here and some are waiting. This thread is for the ones clicking on the USCIS website 1,000 times a day. For the ones having to rely on webcams and phone cards to sustain their relationships.
Check in and let's keep each other company while we wait. What are you doing to fill your time?
I am a June filer for CR1 and July for K3.
I did see some May filer approvals ! Are you all checking alot to look for a 'touch' ? Rajaa did you get touched yet?
Lulu just escaped and on his way to NVC..... Who else is waiting here? Lulu you keep us posted here on your progress.

Yes it is Friday and it's my last day of work, forever.  2 1/2 hours to go.  25 years and one month service in Prosecutors office.  Wife is US citizen already.  All legally I might add.

Never be ashamed in admitting stuff like that---first of  all., YOU weren't the one who did any of this...your husband did, before he met you.
Second of all, no one on VJ is going to know your true identity.
Third, most people in this thread knew it was about you from the get-go, anyhow...we see a lot of "friends" on VJ, not hard to figure out.

What's also interesting is that both you and your friend have husbands who both left on Voluntary Departure right around the same time (according to your posting history).

Suffice to say, both you and your friend are in a bit of a pickle now.  Both of you should consult immigration lawyers.  Or share the same one.

    Agreed with @JFH above.

You and your fiancé must figure out the financial aspect of immigration.  If he can quit and still qualify as sponsor, that’s great.  If not, you’d have to find a co-sponsor.  Other option would be him finding a job with less invasive hours than the trucking industry presents.

The MOST important thing, is making sure you don’t lie.  If he’s unemployed, you must be truthful about it.

    Best of luck

A woman sending money to a man never looks good. No matter what your intentions are. Leave it out. If you were married and had lived together and you were sending money to help support children your home maybe.

But you are also dealing with one of the MENA (Middle Eastern North Africa)embassies

Think like a CO and ask
1.how did he support himself before you came along
    2. Do women from his country support men financially

Just leave it out this is a Big Red Flag.

I agree mostly with him especially if you send large amounts at once. If smaller amounts that look to be supporting her like for expenses or emergency then it shouldn't look that way but you never know.

But also like they say only give and show what you need and say exact answers to their questions. Dont talk about what is not asked because if they dont ask they must not be concerned with it.

At the very least you have to send them money for the DS-160 and medical exam plus travel expenses and any other documents around the time of their interview. My fiance could have never afforded those fees. So showing money transfers around the time of their interview that are in range of those expenses should definitely not look suspicious.
