HA&FA got a reaction from WhoKnowsWhoCares in Dear fellow k1 visa applicants of Afghanistan
So I have seen many k1 visa timelines. Some people get their interview date very quickly after it's transferred to the embassy from NVC and some have to wait for monthe like myself.
Does anyone know why is it like this or how this process work?

Thank you guys for your help.
Just called the CBP office and got it corrected. Checked it again online and it has already been corrected

Agree that it needs to be corrected.  Unless I am mistaken, this is kind of issue which would add a significant delay for a Social Security card, for example.

Yes, it will, because the official record will not match your ID or other documents.

You need to go to a deferred inspection site and have them amend your i94.

HA&FA got a reaction from Shirzad in Case created date k1 visa changed
15 days, because I didn't have the tax return transcript of my sponsor. Otherwise it would have gotten approved right after the interview. They gave me the 221g refusal sheet and asked for the tax return transcript and i emailed them the tax return the same day.

No, they didn't. My past is actually quite simple. I had the same job from the day I started till now. That might be the reason they didn't give me that form. They handle everyone's case differently. Anyhow I wish you and your fiance good luck. Hopefully you get the visa soon. 😀

The last update on ceac will be “issued”

you should get an email from the website where you registered your address for delivery or pickup your passport when it gets sent with your visa

Thank you, I sent the documents at the same day and I got a reply that they have received the documents and my visa application is under review. Still under administration processing. Hopefully I get the visa soon. I really miss my fiancé.

My interview was yesterday. The CO did not look at a single evidence I had ( I had plenty). She looked at what was in the initial petition, asked very few questions and approved our visas

That's a 221(g) they issued to you for additional documentation. Simple fix. Just follow their instructions and once returned and it satisfies the CO then he/she will complete the adjudication with a case approval/denial. Chances are if they are asking and your returning the documents you will have no problems with an approval.  BTW everyone goes under AP after the interview in fact they go back and forth in and out till the visa is inserted into the passport and your status is set to issued.

We weren’t asked for further proof but we had a thoroughly submitted packet, straight forward, legit relationship. Officer barely asked any questions and said we were approved.

Hey! We weren't asked for any proof of relationship. It may vary on Embassy & CO reviews of I-129F. CO's are trained well. Good luck

Will agree with Greenbaum. A lot of times they make a decision off of the original 129f petition they review before the interview. If they sense true relationship, they may not ask for anything. If they think it's not legit, they may ask for more proof or won't. It's the CO's decision so.

It is neither a good sign or a bad sign. They believe that you are a couple and hence they never asked for any verbal evidence or paper. It's not uncommon for this to not be a questions asked at the interview. Some embassies ask for another "intent of marriage" letter others don't. Your fine.

Strictly speaking, a K-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa (but has immigration intent). Therefore you complete the DS-160. Immigrant visas are ones where the holder becomes a permanent resident the moment they arrive. That’s not the case with a K-1 - you have an additional circus of paperwork to complete and various requirements must be met (married within 90 days to the petitioner, for example) before you reach that stage and your residency is not guaranteed when you arrive. Immigrant visa holders are guaranteed residency when they arrive.

To complicate matters, embassies handle the K-1 through the immigrant visa department of that embassy.

It is the DS-160 for K-1.  That has nothing to do with the country.  The DS-160 is for the US, not the country that the beneficiary is from.
