Incorrect name on i_94 form

Yes, it will, because the official record will not match your ID or other documents. 

 

You need to go to a deferred inspection site and have them amend your i94.

Agree that it needs to be corrected.  Unless I am mistaken, this is kind of issue which would add a significant delay for a Social Security card, for example.

You are not mistaken.  I was SO excited when I came on my K1, I didn’t notice they spelled my name incorrectly.  Only noticed on my first trip to SSA. 

 

It added at least 3 months and as many trips to SSA to actually get a SSN.

 

Luckily I live in a border town, so getting it corrected was simple and fast, but waiting for government systems to talk to each other was not. 

 

It is a nightmare if you try to do anything before it is corrected.

I had the same issue (sort of, I have too many names so one was cut in half because there wasn't enough space, making my name on the i-94 incorrect). So I just sent an email to CBP and they corrected it quickly.


K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016 (260 days)

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017 (108 days)

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017 (132 days)

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017 (217 days)

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020 (365 days)

 

Naturalization (Los Angeles County Field Office):

04-19-2020 - Earliest filing date

05-01-2020 - N-400 filed online

05-01-2020 - Received date

05-04-2020 - NOA1 online

05-08-2020 - NOA1 hardcopy
