It will come today, Saci. I am sure. Because my stepson’s file was received by NVC 8/19, and we got the number by email last night.

It’s just a question on Consular processing vs AOS in the US. In your case it’s definitely the former.

Most likely it’s a standard message. NVC cannot update your address unless they created a case and assign a number to it first.
Our NOA2 was on 7/09, received by NVC on 8/19 and only today we got an email of the case number assigned.

What happened to your marriage to the American? Is your son his bio-child? Why did you leave the US?

Gambling the system? Fine. If it’s my response to the broken government  gambling my life and my personal happiness, so be it!
It’s ironic but the very day our I-130 was approved we were fighting on the phone, my husband and I. We had no idea, and the long wait was taking its toll. We were both tired and frustrated and blaming each other for silly things. That’s how the first year of marriage should be I guess...for the USCIS that doesn’t care.
I bet many couples are similarly under constant stress due to the unnecessary separation which has a negative impact on the relationships.
As for me, I was very close to filing 129F, while waiting for the beneficiary’s passport photos...It took 4 days for the NOA2 to reach my mail box ending the idea of K3, as well as stupid arguments between us and almost 8 months of suffering with Texas.
I can’t even imagine what they go through, the poor Nebraskans some of whom have marked their 1 year of torture, and still waiting!
    So who is gambling who??

Excuse me? Aren’t you following the Nebraska thread? More and more people are filing I-129f, and ALL get their I-130 approved within a month from I-129f priority dates. No exception!
By my estimate, it’s already 11 approvals here on VJ and at least 2 on FB.

I disagree. Those who file I-129f do a big favor to other filers, especially the future ones. By a courageous example, of how things should be done.
This is the only way to make the government agency (Nebraska SC, and USCIS in general) change. When Nebraska doesn’t give a sh...t about people, who can take care of us but us??
I say this, Hey, all Nebraska I-130s, UNITE! File I-129f now! And fight the government together!🚩🚩🚩

I agree with the last post. Pregnancy hormones make a woman vulnerable and over-sensitive. Add to that immigration to a new country (cultural shock, maybe). Add to that a new marriage (the first year in every marriage is the hardest). Add to that an international union, different cultures, mentality, etc.
OP, have a mercy on your new wife. Remember that she carries your baby. Think about the reasons of why you are together in the first place. Give your marriage a chance, go see a counselor, have a little get away with your wife, buy her a little present, a little gift, cook a dinner with candles, or take her out to a nice place, tell her how much you love her, respect her as a mother-to-be, understand how hard it is for her to go through this life transition, and that you believe in you two, in your marriage. Instead of crying and asking how to quit just be a man, take responsibility, do something positive and constructive to save your family, fight for it!
    Good luck!

It’s up to 6 weeks for USCIS to send the approved case to NVC. As to 90 days, it’s a standard USCIS answer to ANY type of inquiry. If I were you, I’d contact my congress person to initiate a search for a lost dossier. Without a kick, USCIS would do nothing, feeding you with a 90 days increments each time you call them.

Thank you very much for all the details! They are very useful. The website says 300 euro for the exam, but I guess they’ve upgraded the actual cost🙄
It’s good to know that the wait for the interview is not that long in Paris👍
Good luck to you, and we look forward to your detailed report after the interview!

Finally, finally USCIS sent a SMS that my case is now updated. Went to www.uscis.gov to learn that the case is sent to NVC. Alleluia! NOA2 of 07/09 (learned from the letter in the mail, as case was never updated online), sent to NVC on 8/13. I think to wait about 2 weeks to call NVC for the case number. Or is it too early?

When you apply for a master’s program in the US, check the list of the necessary documents. Usually they require the transcripts of your undergrad studies abroad, Toefl and gmat or gre and letters of recommendations. Some schools require an essay, too (letter of interest). As to financial aid, it’s a separate matter. You cannot apply for any government aid due to your wife’s I-864 but it doesn’t preclude you from seeking private grants/loans.

How much time since the I-485 denial? She may be accruing an unlawful presence. Is she in removal proceedings?
She really needs a lawyer specialized in similar cases. Most likely her only option is to leave the US for her home country. Her current husband then files I-130 for her. She files for the waiver in her home country.

Same situation here. Got an approval on 7/9 (snail letter), nothing is updated anywhere, called NVC several times, my case is not there yet. I hope USCIS did not lose my case:(
