  1. I think I misunderstood the first post that says "Update Your Email" at the AskNVC site.  I didn't ask a specific question and instead just listed our emails out in the field to ask a question because I thought I was just "updating" them.  Anyway, that was 2 weeks ago and I never heard anything from them.  Do you think I should go back in and ask a specific question, like "Have you received my case from USCIS?"  Or should I just continue to call?  Was what I did a way of "updating" our emails?  Or will they just ignore that altogether since it wasn't a question?

    Thanks!

Just checking in to see if anyone around NOA2 of 1/25 has called for an update. I called this morning and they said they received my case yesterday, which is just shy of two weeks from NOA2 to NVC receipt. This seems quick compared to some recent timelines (which is of course great news to me!) but I am wondering if anyone else can corroborate this surprisingly short turn around (edit to add they did not have a case number when I called, got the canned eight weeks response but will call again on Monday) 😁

Mine is 1/24.  I called on Monday, but maybe I'll try again today too!  You've given me hope! haha

I've started working on my Affidavit of Support, and have a question about the employment letter. I told the director what I need, and she said that HR won't issue such a letter directly to me, but they would send one to whomever it will be directed. I explained that there is nowhere they can send it but to me and I explained the reason. She was very excited for me and said she would speak with HR to see if they would make an exception. This is what she said in an email she sent me today "Please fill out a REQUEST FOR EMPLOYEE VERIFICATION form.  We need you to fill in the Name/Company and the address it will go to even though we know your circumstance, we are still working through that piece, but want to start he request process."

I'm not sure how I can comply with this request. To whom should they address it?  I've looked this up and all the advice I can find is to address it "to whom it may concern". Our beaurocratic HR department won't accept this. Any ideas, anyone?

    Thanks in advance!

After explaining what I need to my HR, I was able to get something that specifically says "For Immigration Purposes" on it.. If you are replying to your HR, I would just try and make sure you let them know it's for immigration reasons.  I am guessing they will have some sort of protocol for this.  If they are saying you must provide a name of a company and address, I would go with the Consulate General in Sydney in the address field but ask that they give it directly to you and not send it to Sydney themselves.

    Hope this helps!!

As soon as I saw my approval I thought if you guys and hoped yours had come too! The universe must have heard my wishes for the Australian approvals! Best news ever!

    Congratulations!!!!!

  5. I just called NVC and was on hold for about 15 mins before talking with someone.  I had to give my receipt number and she was able to check for me.  Our case isn't there yet, but we were very much expecting that as it's only been a week since NOA2 (just being overly hopeful here 😂).  The representative was really nice though and just said "Sorry we don't have anything yet".  So, don't be afraid to call, it was pretty painless.

When London Immigrant Visa Unit receives the file from the NVC,  they mail the U.K. beneficiary a "letter of instruction" (formerly called packet 3) saying they have received an approved petition and he/she can now apply for the visa. It has a copy of the approved petition and says follow the instructions on the embassy website. Link: https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

    Thank you!

Did anyone find out via text /email? We signed up for that G1145 form, and were notified of our NOA1 via text before we got the letter in the mail. Just wondering if anyone got their NOA2 that way?

I found out by checking the New Website!  I also filled out the G1145 form and was notified via text and email about the NOA1, but nothing for the NOA2.  The old website still just says "received" and we have yet to receive anything in the mail.  So, only new website for us!

A heads up to all the UK people - you can schedule your medical as soon as NVC gives you your case number.

When you call they just ask if you have an interview date already (don’t have to have it yet but this is just so they can try schedule the medical before it), case number, type of visa you applied for, name and DOB, email address and ask if you have your ACRO police cert sorted. The dates were fairly wide open. I picked 22nd Feb but they had even sooner!

    Number to call: 020 7486 7822 😊

    Thanks for this! :)

That's what I meant, but nothing like that seems to appear on the new website, but we can see the received date on the old website.

Hmmmm interesting... Yeah mine did have the date on it but I think I've seen from other people that their dates weren't listed.  Seems completely random whether or not the websites show accurate information for your case or not haha.
