Note of caution don’t read months threads  later than ours if you’ve not got interviews scheduled yet they’ll make you cry with frustration like they did me

Hi everyone! On June 2019 filers a VJ member shared the info that USCIS processes cases by state, not in the order they received them. So I figured that it would be useful to share our experiences in our state, especially this year filers who already got any updates as well as those who’re still waiting.

    My experience so far:
June 24 - received by USCIS
    July 16 - NOAs
August 2 - Biometrics review completed.
    Field Office: Buffalo, NY

P.S. Please also indicate your field office in NY state, it would be easier for everyone to analyze the data and at least try to track the situation.

As I recall they lived close to Buffalo and had to go to Albany. I was bored yesterday and was digging through the AOS section. I don't remember the exact thread.

Probably it’s not news to anyone on VJ, but since I was losing patience, I found out a 100% way how to contact a live agent online on USCIS website without having to call the hotline.
    1) go to Emma (press on the question mark)
    2) type “representative”
    3) type what’s my case status
    4) wait in line for a live agent to contact you and ask your question.

They’re also working by script, so make sure to formulate your questions very accurate, otherwise you’re gonna get a standard answer that you case may be adjudicated in 25 months 😂

this is way I found out that my case is ready to be scheduled and is still with the NBC so far, so the next status should be the interview was scheduled. Of course I don’t know how reliable this info I was given is, but and least some rest to my mind that they’re really still working on the case.

Also I found out that they work on your case since the day they received it by mail, no matter when NOA was issued, because the agent told me my case was received on June 24, even though NOA is July 16. So the late assignment of the case number doesn’t cause the delay (this information was also confirmed by a lawyer). I hope this was helpful for you guys.

Hi! No, unfortunately the case tracker is still stuck at “fingerprint review was completed”. So that’s why I mentioned in my post that I’m not sure how reliable this info from the agent is. However the agent answered “yes” to my direct question if my case is ready to be scheduled. Also the agent confirmed it’s still at NBC, that’s why the interview wasn’t scheduled, because the local office does the scheduling.
Anyway at the very least it was helpful to find out at least that they did receive my case on June 24, that the NOA late arrival didn’t affect my case and that my case is still at NBC and they have no questions for me. Easier to find out at least this info by the internet inquiry than hang on the phone for hours to hear nothing.
Of course I hope yet to get some official info of the case change status...

Hey! I have received my NOAs by text message on July 16th. Give it some more time, watch out for paper NOAs in your mailbox because some people never get texts or emails (I never got an email). But I do recommend writing to lockbox support email just in case, you can also try calling USCIS Contact center to ask whether they have your name in their database and if not, create a service request. That’s maximum you can do. If it takes too long like way passed 30 days and there is still nothing I would consider sending the package once again.  But as for right now I would give it some more time.
Wish you best of luck! I know it sucks but I’m sure you’re gonna be ok.

USCIS does not process anything by state.

EAD, AP, and initial processing for all AOS from K-1s is done at the national benefits center in Missouri (that's why your case #s all start with MSC).

It's only when they're done in Missouri that your AOS application goes to your local field office (though you'll usually have a biometrics appointment at your local application support center first). Processing times after that are based on your local field office, not your state. There are states where there is only one field office and it doesn't handle anything from other states. There are states where there are multiple field offices; processing times are very different between them sometimes (in California, San Francisco is very slow while Fresno is very fast). There are field offices that take cases from multiple states (Pittsburgh handles all of West Virginia as well as some of Pennsylvania; they are processed at the same rate).

    NYC Manhattan Filer here.

    File Date - 6/29/2019
    NOA - 7/3/2019
    Biometrics - 7/16/2019
    Biometrics Review Completed - 7/17/2019
Case Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview - 9/6/2019

Now the long wait begins, looking at the timelines for Manhattan, the interview will probably be in 2021!

Nope there is no way to find out it’s just a wide range of different cases. And like I said many people but not really everyone or a lot of. You can check out yourself.
USCIS works pretty random, deff not in the way they received petitions. I tried different ranges of cases and found very different results. But it seems to me that this part of case number I mentioned is basically the first one in which some people get at least some updates.
Anyway it doesn’t make anything clear, it’s just I have nothing else to do while not being able to work or travel lol so I play with USCIS case tracker search lol

Damn damn damn it’s just so annoying! I don’t wanna sound like a complete douche but I am just getting so excited and when nothing happens it frustrates me, because not being able to work or travel is just really annoying.
Im truly happy for those lucky ones getting their updates, it just raised my expectations too high.
Sorry couldn’t help commenting on this *crying*

It is annoying, and getting stressful. Our NOA1 date is June 10 and biometrics was on July 9. Our status changed, soon after, to "Fingerprint ReviewWas  Completed" and hasn't changed since. I anticipate you and we will get some good news soon.
