I wasn't aware that it did do so, this is why I asked to confirm. Thank you for your response.

If the I-485 is approved, the why do you need the EAD and Advance Parole document since the Green card replaces them?

Every NOA2 'expires' after 4 months. If you can't do your interview before that date cause your case is delayed at USCIS/NVC you can just email your consulate/embassy where you're gonna have your interview and they can extend it for 4 months. Nothing to worry about, it seems the employee wasn't trained properly

It can take up to 6 weeks for your case to reach NVC or longer. All cases get automatically extended. I would not worry about the expiration date.

Wepa!  My fiancee is also from Ecuador and I am from Puerto Rico. I live in Maryland and have the same mind set as you. I have ask this same question couple of times around. Last time I went to visit my fiancee for a couple of weeks and returned I ask at Fort Lauderdale POE to one of the officer and they stated that Puerto Rico is a domestic flight so you should not have any problems, however in the situation that for anyreason the plane must land elsewhere during the trip. The K1 is unvalid for re-entry.

The answer is Yes you can go. But beware of any landing elsewhere.

Congrats on your NOA2 I am still waiting for that.

Is good to know that more Boricuas are in this as well✌🏻

I found this and though a bit dated, it seems to say no.  What I would do is get legally married soon after arrival, file the AOS package along with the AP (I131) and plan a trip to PR once the AP is received which lately is taking 4-6 months.  No sense risking it.

    Good Luck!

COs are generally more concerned with reasons why visitors will return home, not with reasons why they want to come to the US.

You can have them bring the wedding invitation if you feel that strongly to want to provide something, but the CO is under no obligation to even look at it, or consider it.

AnselyGierel reacted to Greenbaum in October 2018 K-1 NOA2 ----> NVC
I created this thread for those who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1 and the case assignment from NVC.

These are items that everyone ask for so I thought I just post them here for you to refer to when it's necessary.

    1. How do I update my email address with NVC  Once you receive your NOA2 approval then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned and when the file leaves for your Embassy.

    2. Checking on your embassy case number from NVC:
It will take 7 - 10 business days for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in there system and produce your case number.  Call 7:00 am eastern time for shorter wait times.

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

1 for English, then 7 (or 5, but I would go 7 as they would tell you if you should call 5 instead after they receive your case.)

    Best time to call:
Right after they open which is around 7:00am US Eastern Time, Mon-Fri. Most have had luck getting the phone answered after the first ring if they called right at 7am.

    3. How long to assign a Case # from NOA2

Currently it's been taking about 2 weeks for USCIS to send the file to NVC. Then it's been taking about 2-3 weeks for NVC to assign the case number. Then it's taking another 2-3 week depending on the Embassy to receive your case. Your mileage may vary!

    4. Follow Similar VJ members timelines.  Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture there is a link for your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture  you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others from your Embassy are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

    5. Follow similar VJ members timelines from other countries. And if you want to follow those from other countries that have similar timelines as yours there are several tools available to you. Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them.

I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing so I could judge if I was ahead or behind.  It's pretty accurate, maybe within a day or so.

If you choose to follow those twelve members then you will get an email every time their status updates.

I hope these tips help you along your Journey. So lets share our experiences, our tips and ask questions.

Go to your settings on the right hand corner, hit “Portals” and select your country that you’re petitioning in. Once you do that, it’ll show you other people posting that has spouses/fiance(e)’s in Ecuador and you’ll see options to read embassy reviews and see what’s necessary for your embassy. I provided you with a picture of where to find “portals”.

  13. Thanks
AnselyGierel reacted to Mimicherie in Help simplifying the Proof of Relationship for Packet
    No problem.

July 30th is fine, it’s not that long ago at all. With my letter of intent where I placed the “Date:...” section, I left it blank and manually wrote the date when I was ready to send it in, but you should be fine.

All embassy’s are different. Go to your embassies portal on the VJ site and check the consulate and embassy section and it will tell you if it allows the petitioner to be apart of the interview. My embassy (Haiti) doesn’t allow it anymore, they only interview my fiancé (the beneficiary) but a lot of people go for moral support and wait outside.

    Thank you so much!

I already had made a meeting in person with pictures, receipts, and plane tickets. I also included pictures of our video chats. Thank the Lord, that means I am done.

He sent me the letter of intent signed, but it's dated July 30th, if I send the packet tomorrow will the letter be fine? Or is it too old?

Btw do I have to be present at the interview, since he is the one living in Ecuador and I am requesting for?

    Thanks again!

    1. Letter of intent
    2. Passport stamps
    3. Boarding passes
    4. Six(ish) pictures with the date and location on them of both of you

That's really about all you need. 32 pages of 'proof' would likely not make things go faster

  16. Thanks
AnselyGierel reacted to MLR14 in Help simplifying the Proof of Relationship for Packet
Chat logs aren't required as they don't prove anything really. Boarding passes and passport stamps are much more important.

they want proof of having met within the last two years.

    send THAT.

other stuff can be gathered and taken for the interview and then AOS later (just keep adding to it and get on legal/financial docs together)
  18. Thanks
AnselyGierel reacted to Ash.1101 in Help simplifying the Proof of Relationship for Packet
The only thing required for the I-129F is proof that you have met in the last 2 years. Plane tickets, hotel reservations, credit card statements showing you were in the same town, things like that.

Nothing else is needed until the interview.

You -can- front load it, but it's not necessary.

We wrote a statement that listed all times my husband (fiance at the time) came down and visited, how long he was here and where he stayed.
  19. Thanks
AnselyGierel reacted to Bfree3 in Help simplifying the Proof of Relationship for Packet
32 pages is excessive and you're overthinking it.Would definitely recommend getting it down to a lesser number by concentrating on just a few pages of photos. The photos will make it easier as you won't have to worry about translating anything on them.
Anything written in spanish will have to be translated.

I didn’t even include conversations in my I-129F and we got approved just fine! Just a few things are fine, don’t try to overdo it! :)

AnselyGierel reacted to TNJ17 in Help simplifying the Proof of Relationship for Packet
All unnecessary. A couple of pictures and passport stamps, hotel receipts, credit card statements showing purchases in beneficiary’s country. Maybe phone logs. That is all you need. Chat transcripts and all that are all secondary evidence USCIS cares nothing about.
  22. Thanks
AnselyGierel reacted to Mimicherie in Help simplifying the Proof of Relationship for Packet
Save all that extra evidence for the day of the interview. USCIS stage is trying to make sure that you met your significant other within the past 2 years and a few photos showing an actual relationship. Stick to the most recent (don’t go past 2016) and most vital information. Things to include are travel/hotel receipts, pictures, any divorce decrees from previous marriages etc. Front loading information just gives the person working your case more work to do.

Yes, for USCIS stage if it’s not in English you must translate it. Make sure you still provide a copy of the original document. You can state that you were together for 9 years in the “how you met” section. Again do not write a long story about your 9 years together. They just want to know the circumstances of how you both got aquatinted and you can throw the 9 years in there somewhere.

P.S. You can put a few chat logs in there but no more than a few pages and make sure it’s PG. If it’s in another language, translate it.
