In a lame attempt to piggyback on @Greenbaum's words of wisdom, DO NOT freak out to the point of hospitalization with a panic attack when you start reading about NOA2s from people who filed days/weeks and even a month or two after you start rolling in. There's a method to USCIS madness: there's no method!

As previously stated, set your expectations low, set it and forget it, expect your NOA2 for the end of the current waiting period. Use the next few months to educate further in the K1 process, research embassy requirements of your beneficiaries' countries, gather what paperwork you'll need for embassy stage: tax transcript, updated letters of intent, screen shots of whatever form of communication used (2 screenshots per month...people differ in opinions in this...do what's best for you), but most importantly, nurture your relationship.

    Best wishes,

LOL! Thank you!! I asked him to please call the school and ask for the EXACT dates. He probably thinks I'm crazy haha. I am just so afraid of putting down any incorrect information. Thank you though. I feel a little less worried about this particular item. Also, I started following you since you're a few steps ahead of us. Good luck to you guys!! ❤️

My dear fiancé couldn't even remember the address of his high school , let alone what dates he attended.  So, I put sept 1 and year he started to june 30 and year of when he last attended.

Not really. Long as previous petition is officially canceled/dead, and you are legally divorced and it is finalized... then long as you meet the requirements for the K-1 (single and free to marry and met within previous two years physically), then you could apply... just make sure you address the previous petition appropriately on the forms and your now fiance is fully knowledgeable of the past relationship/marriage.

We just got our Case Number today too!!! Praise God!

Another thing I though that was worth sharing is that I got an ABD# instead of a MNL#-- despite indicating on our I-129F that I would be applying the visa in the Manila Embassy. (I live and work in Dubai and we put my Dubai Address down in the form, too)-- I am guessing they assumed since I live there, it would be the embassy I would go to.

Which is great because I am in Manila for the past 2 weeks, hoping that the MNL# comes through but I am due to fly back to Dubai on the 17th so this worked out really great, thank God!

My VJ estimate was about 2 weeks off. Still, if you look at it just as estimate, it's pretty good ball park number.

Whoooa. Your not even into this for 2 weeks and your annoyed?? A word of encouragement from an old VJ sea dog. Set your expectation lower and you won't be so annoyed. I have seen it over and over how soon people are annoyed, disappointed, anxious and what not. This is a long process. It could take a year before you get your visa and 2 weeks in your annoyed. Come on. Relax. Don't be on VJ until such time as your USCIS application is approved. Then come back for tips and pointers. That's what years of being here that I can offer.

Hello all. Got my NOA2 yesterday via mail with an approval date of 2/28.

My fiancee changed address while waiting on the NOA2. I read that I can change the address during the NVC stage. I was wondering when and how I go about making that change of address. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Catherine6 reacted to NCMSTR4U in K1 Journey End - US citizen
Our Journey started on April Fools Day 2009, when we communicated for the first time. I went to the Philippines to meet her in person on July 4th of 2009 and had a wonderful time, returning three weeks later to the US.  We had taken tons of pictures and kept in constant contact while I started the K-1 Visa process.  Visa Journey was at my side through every step of the way, and the paperwork to her arrival in the US was only 5 months, do the day they received the paperwork.  She arrived on January 27th, 2010 to very cold weather (I forgot her coat on the table when I left for the airport) but the car was warm and we were excited.  A few days later we got a few inches of snow, but Baltimore (SS Office) got 36 inches and was closed for a week.
In 2 days she met her first filipina at Sams Club (we are still friends) and the circle has grown huge.  We processed our paperwork according to the schedules we were married on March 14th 2010.  She applied for her temporary green card (and received no problem) and then her permanent one two years later.

In November 2011, we were blessed with a BEAUTIFUL son, who bears my name (the second) and he is doing wonderfully.  She got a part time job and later a full time job and I retired and watch our son.  In 2018 she applied for US Citizenship and was granted a few days after Thanksgiving.

JR (our son) and the family are going to visit her family this July in the Philippines for the first time since she came here, and we are excited to go.

I can not THANK VISA JOURNEY for all the information that is presented online to help you process your paperwork, to get it right the first time, and to make the process easy if you follow the information given.  Visa Journey saved me hundreds of dollars in legal fees with their shared experiences and information, I am positive that if anyone reads carefully and completely, they can process the paperwork without any problems.

Jesett is completely accepted in my family, she is loved by all our friends, is valued in our church, and a cornerstone of our family life.  Sometime things do not work out for everyone, (we have seen this with people we have met), but I got a GREAT LADY for my wife, and our SON has a Fantastic Mom, We are Very Blessed.    Again, THANK YOU to Visa Journey, you made our Visa Journey a pleasure.
