After seeing so many exciting posts here, I've been refreshing daily, hoping for some good news! On Monday (3/14), I checked and saw the update "a new card is being produced"! Today, I noticed a new update - the card is in transit, and there's even a USPS tracking ID! Scheduled to arrive on Monday 3/21. Our NOA date was 6/7/2021.

Filed I-751 on May 21, 2021.  NOA and 18-month extension was received from MSC on June 3.  The updated 24-month extension letter was finally received on December 18th, 2021, extending the green card to August 19, 2023.  Biometrics appointment was back on August 8, 2021, in Atlanta, but there has been no update on the USCIS case status online to reflect the fact that biometrics have been done.  One issue is a slight spelling error on the last name, on the biometrics 797C, and on both 797 extension letters.  Biometrics said not to worry about it.  Just filed an online typographical error request via the USCIS online account.  Hopefully this will lead to a correction and matching of the initial I-751 package with the biometrics and extension letters based on the same A number, and will not cause any problems down the road.  It's amazing how careless USCIS staff are!  Still waiting, like everyone else, for an interview letter but that seems unlikely until later this year or maybe 2023 the way things are going.  VJ approval estimates for an ROC interview that come in periodically via email bounce around all over the calendar, one recently estimated October of 2022, another June of 2023.  The plan is to file an N-400 for naturalization in May of this year when the three-year window opens.  Wishing everyone the best for a good year in 2022!

Mary had her interview this morning in Phoenix.  It took about five minutes after waiting about an hour.  I was outside in the car and she called me crying; I thought some disaster happened.  Took about 45 minutes then she and 5 other were naturalized.

We have a trip to London next week so the only Passport Offices with openings are Honolulu, San Juan and El Paso!  We will work on reacquiring her Filipino Citizenship when we return.

    Thanks for all the support!

Oof. That was a weird one...

Along with contacting the ombudsman and preparing with your lawyer, I would recommend giving your US representative a call. When my husband had the request for his BC to be translated from English to English, he mailed off two copies (one had a note saying "original language" and the other with a note saying "translated version" because he wanted to sass them). I called my reps office, faxed the required privacy release form, and then called the office back immediately; did not give them the option to say "we'll call you back". I was in contact with his office everyday asking for an update to see what they had done on their end and if they needed anything from me. I think it took two weeks for a real sort of answer, but they ended up expediting the case based on USCIS error.

I think when it was all said and done, USCIS admitted to having lost the BC, which I wouldnt be surprised if that's what the ended up doing to cause your RFE in the first place. Basically, USCIS is the worst.

rrobin0609 reacted to DeleteAccount in K1 Horrible Ending!! Fiance arrived with kid but turns out she is already married!
I was so very excited to start this process. I was feeling like a would have a family that truly loved me. I fought for 1 and half years to bring this women and her child to the US. I sent money every month so they could eat and buy necessities. I would help this woman's child with home work over video.  I spoke 2 times a day and reassured them I would bring them to the US. I truly loved and cared for these people!!

After the long wait they finally arrived here in the US. I was so excited to see them and finally get to hold my family in my arms. It seemed relaxed at first until the first day of school for the child, I woke to arguing. I asked what was happening and she responded with "My daughter will soon be an alcoholic or marry one!!!" then she kept going with "I wish I had never birthed this child, she has ruined my life!!! I should have had an abortion!!!" This is were I stepped in and ask "Why would you say this where your child could hear this, that is horrible" then I asked what happened and she replied with "Her bangs are in her eye's, she looks terrible and this will hurt her eyes!!!!" That is when I realized something wasn't right.

So, I felt I needed to step it up and be a super dad so this child would have some kind of sanity in her life. The daughter and I were close and she could tell I was trying to be the best father that I could be. The bond we formed was wonderful!! In the mean time the K1 wife was fighting as much as she could. So, I couldn't figure out what the problem was, then I discovered that she was married to a man in Norway!!!! I was blown away!! I asked her are you still married, because if so you lied on the Visa app. I found out that she is! That is not good!!!

Needless to say she changed completely after she got here. I did see some red flags while she was in Ukraine, but I chalked it up to stress and living conditions. I visited Ukraine 2 times and never once did she mention her marriage in Norway. I even offered to help with the divorce from the man in Norway, but she was only in it for the green card. I found even more out that I will not mention, but it was enough for me to send her home. I am so devastated, I lost my family and child. I was planning on adopting the child!! Now all gone.

Please be careful, this really does happen and does not feel good. If you have any questions or are concerned with your situation, please message me and I will give any information that I can. I will not look for just the negative, I am not bitter, only sad from my loss. I can't even tell you how much money I spent!!!

Last month, I had three vaccines for seven different diseases done on the same day: TDAP, MMR and varicella. I had no side effects and found it amusing to have three different bandaids on my arms for a day.

It's also normal for kids to have had multiple vaccines done during doctor visits without any problems.

I ended up changing that list a bit and send one bank statement from every quarter (every third month). I did the same with our mortgage statements.

File for divorce . Move on.
You can keep evidence of him telling his family that he is only here for papers and use them incase he tries to make you look like the black pot.
Stay away from him lest he tries the VAWA route.
Do not be with him alone.

I think that, unfortunately, k1 and cr1 have almost same timeline, so main advantage that k1 had over cr1 is gone… If you are physically with her now or planning to visit soon, most members will give you advise to do cr1 since it allows your future wife to work asap after arrival and she will have green card. :)..

Tell the neighbor to go ahead and call ICE.
When the neighbor informs you of the time ICE is expected to arrive, wait with a jar of lemonade and extra glasses for the "all would be visitors" at the door. Some people are just miserable and they need to be called off at their bluff.

rrobin0609 reacted to Mike E in Meeting only once before filing the i-129f (merged)
One meeting in the last two years is fine for an I-129F.  The sooner you file the better because the process takes a long time and if you are forced to refile for whatever reason you don’t want that one meeting to age out.

For the actual  K-1 visa, one meeting is high risk. The very first question my wife’s CO asked her was “when was the last time you saw your fiancé”.

Her answer: “Two hours ago. He is eating outside. Want to ask him to come in?”

And the CO had in front of him a massive file showing over a dozen meetings before the I-129F was filed and 3 after filing.

Visa was approved during the interview. We had it in hand in 3 weeks, and flew home a day later.

Muslim men can ABSOLUTELY marry women from a different religion! I am Catholic, my husband is Muslim and we have been married for 10 years.  Where do you get your information because it's 100% incorrect. I suggest you do some research before spewing falsehoods. The interviewing officers knows it's allowed that's why my husband and I had zero issues.

My husband and I had so called "red flags" and we never had a single issue at any point during our entire immigration journey- starting with the I-130 petition, up to and including naturalization. Not a single RFE. I am 21 years older, divorced with two children, we married on my first visit, we are different religion(it's allowed, contrary to what you say) and I know we have more a few more "red flags" thrown in there. There is nothing easy or cheap about immigration but if you follow the directions, include plenty of relationship evidence, make no mistakes on any of the paperwork and tell the truth at all times, it's pretty easy. Attention to detail is a must.

I didn't find VJ until after my husband's petition was approved but after that this site was my saving grace on more than one occasion. There are many people on this site who know more than most immigration attorneys and they're willing and able to answer any and all questions with 100% accuracy. And if someone asks a question that is beyond their knowledge, they won't hesitate to tell you to consult with a lawyer.  Between the wisdom of long time members, moderators and the guides at the top of the page, just about anyone can navigate the immigration process as long you have a straightforward case and you LISTEN to advice when asked. Day after day I come to this forum and see people ask questions and go on to argue when they don't get the answers they want to hear. Nine years on this site and it still boggles my mind me when people refuse to listen.
