Hello everyone, happy to join this community :D and thanks for such informative posts. However I have a question and will be very thankful to have an answer. I'd like to know from where is it possible to get such an information and is it really possible that a november filler is approved? USCIS support specialist says they are still doing august cases and the same information is published in their website. But I have read all of your comments and I am a bit confused now <_<

I believe a few random filers from November have been approved, but not sure anyone from this community.  They are currently working mostly on September files, they actually just started some October today.  However, they are also still working on August, July and June.  The wait here could be long or short.  It's all the luck of the draw in most cases.

    Hey y‘all,

my case wasn’t approved yet 😭 (9/22) BUT I’m trying to prepare everything (including my fiancé) for the embassy in Germany.

Am i correct that i would need the following things from him (he’s the beneficiary):

    - Filled out I-134 form

    - Proof of U.S. federal income tax returns, for the most recent tax year

    - copy of a W2 or 1099 to support the income listed on the tax return

    - a letter from employer

Anything else you would recommend 💁🏽‍♀️😅? I know we had this topic before but I’m so insecure 🤭

Looks good.  I would probably included the past 2-3 years of W2s and maybe even a few weeks/months of pay stubs, just to be safe.  Some COs are a little more particularly than others with all that stuff.

how many days is the case number to receive now for k1(nvc)after receivig noa2?

Totally depends on the Embassy as they can all be very different.  For Manila things move pretty quickly as long as you plan ahead and have everything ready.  If all your paperwork is ready it's not impossible to think about 6-8 weeks after NOA2 to have the visa in hand.  Just don't forget about CFO before you book a flight to the states!

    It is!! Isn't it!??

Even Official reports and immigration researchs is written on it. It's the new "scrutiny" asked from the dear administration :)

and here we are.... also they don't update most approvals online... so these are all we see some days...

Scrutiny is one thing.  Deliberately delaying the process is another.  Does USCIS lose some paperwork sometimes?  Sure, I bet they do.  Do they lose so much that it warrants a 40% RFE increase?  Doubtful!

And, with my previous experience around here I don't ever remember hearing about or seeing a "silent" NOA2.  Now we're seeing dozens every day.  No idea what all that nonsense could be about....

  6. The ironic thing is that under the previous administration there were reports of internal memos at USCIS telling their people to reduce the number of unnecessary RFEs because it just caused government waste.  They were finding a large percentage of RFEs were for evidence that was already submitted; and that in many cases the petitioner simply resent the same evidence and was then approved.  Which obviously would be a waste of the government's time and money.

The difference is, we're seeing and hearing that things are very different under the current administration.  If it's quotas or new guidelines that we are unaware of, who knows.  But the RFE numbers are certainly increasing.

  7. You'll get an RFE for sure, but it's not a problem.  Just get everything now while you wait.  You can try to print the photo yourself, many have done that without any problems.  I believe the full copy of passport is needed to prove the petitioner is a US citizen.  They won't deny you for missing those, but I would think it's highly likely they will ask for it.  No worries!

Why would this person need to complete a Report of Marriage when all they did was a court process to legally change their name and would like their Philippine passport renewed in this new name?

Sadly, I doubt the Philippines would recognize the name change completed in the USA.

I think you are correct in that they would not recognize the US court name change and hence that is why a ROM would be needed because they would recognize that.

EDIT....yeah no marriage mentioned, oops!!....not sure about that then.....

  9. All seems very odd.  Manila has an insanely high approval rate.  And this is the first time I can recall them asking anything about social media stuff.  It does seem as though the Embassy has some kind of knowledge about her.  You clearly proved a relationship, they just didn't believe it for whatever reason.  In their eyes, would getting married and applying for the CR1 make them believe anything further?  Normally, I would say yes, but this is a strange case.  I would lawyer up asap.

Hindi po. You do not need to make a physical appearance in order to do this. The first thing they need to do is file a Report Of Marriag(ROM) with the Consulate where they got married. Once that is complete then they need to file for a passport in their new name.

My understanding is that in recent years they have changed the rules.  Changing the name would basically be a passport renewal.  This is directly from the Consulate website:

The Embassy/Consulate General advises all Philippine passport holders, whose passports are expiring within the next 6 months, to renew their passports if they intend to travel within the aforementioned period.

All Filipino citizens applying for passports with the Philippine Embassy/Consulate General will no longer need to submit photographs, as their picture, together with their fingerprints and signature, will be taken on-site. This means that all passport applicants, regardless of age, are henceforth required to appear personally.
