Yes, waiting to work is a big drawback for the K-1.  I believe you can try for an expedite with a formal job offer in writing, but claiming hardship due to the condition of being unable to work until EAD doesn't sound legit - otherwise we would all try to do that.

Yea think it would be rare to see a GC before EAD/AP, but I suppose it has happened here and there by some lucky ones.

Personally I did not use the CEAC website at all. Once we received our case number we completed and paid for the DS-160, and went on the Us travel site to schedule his medical and interview for a few weeks out to allow time for NVC to send our packet to Santo Domingo. Waiting on them will leave you waiting for some time. I am impatient and moved forward once I obtained the case number. I believe right now they are scheduling the end of Dec into Jan for interviews.

If you schedule the appointments online, be sure to schedule the medical and interview at least 10 days apart. The first appointment you schedule will be for the medical and then the interview.

Once you get the interview scheduled I would begin getting all the paperwork together your fiance will need to take for the interview- AOS form, pay stubs, letter from employer, tax transcripts from last year, copies of your interview confirmation as well as the confirmation page showing your DS-160 was completed and the confirmation page showing your payment for the visa was paid and processed.

Best of luck to you both

I agree with that- my daughter is 12 so there is no child care expense. We rent my fathers old home for practically nothing from him so rent isnt a huge factor, the main issue is findinf out if my mom would be able to to do solely without including my step father even though she files joint taxes with him. this whole process is just stressful and confusing as to why this issue was presented when I petitioned for him to come here.

Immigration-wise, there is nothing for you ot do. As has been stated many. many times already, the I-864 is dead. It has no value at all. Their lawyer either doesn't kow what they're talking about or are trying to scare you into providing more support. As also stated, a decent attorney should be able to cut down those claims ASAP.

Spousal support for such a short marriage would be pretty unusual.
Child support when you have no children together and would only be taking care of your own children post-divorce is also highly unlikely. She has to pay for her own kid. You have to pay for yours. Again, she is likely trying to scare you into providing any support possible.

This is actually not totally unheard of. The ex is in survival mode. She is attempting everything to be able to stay in the US and be provided for. Also, it is often an immigrant's mentality that they left everything behind because of the USC so not s/he should continue to provide for them even if it does not work out.

I no longer watch the train wreck show 90 Day Fiance, but I skim through the threads here and on Reddit to at least be updated on some of the dirt (admitting a slight guilty pleasure from it 😋). But if I can recall there is a couple this season that is an Asian female immigrant and an American military man, and the immigrant made the guy kick out his own daughter from his house so he can only take care of her (the immigrant) and her child. Yeah, so the "you-have-to-take-care-of-me-no-matter-what" mentality happens more than you think when dealing with immigration.

It sounds like your ego and pride is bruised. There are so many questions- 1. how did you come about these letters as one member states this letter from the other man looks to be on a legal pad.

Yes it sucks to feel taken advantage of however what your are insinuating is just a woman who wrote love letters to another man and vice versa... You cannot make the determination that she needs to go- kick her out of your house, out of your life in a sense however you cannot kick her out of the country, especially when you willingly participated in her journey here - child or not. Any parent would do what they had to for their child's well beings however you could have gone about it in another way. Joint custody, etc. You made the decision as a man to bring her here, and play house with a woman who you knew was "emotionally" unfaithful... Do you know if they ever had physical interaction? If they did how positive are you this child you mention is even yours.

Alot to take in with this situation but as many others stated- the only thing you can do now as a man and as a father is co-parent, and teach your son how to be a good person, do not bad mouth his mother to him or in front of him... put your personal feelings aside and let go, swallow your pride and move on with your life. Her future is out of your hands.

Also - that doesn't make any sense to write letters by hand and then photograph them and send them by messenger - if you are already communicating by messenger you would just type your feelings to each other.

Is this 'other man' American? If not, why were they writing in English to each other?

    Your evidence looks completely fabricated.

Even if it was real, it's also not evidence of visa/immigration fraud.

Infidelity is not a reason for deportation.

It's the government bureaucracy at it's finest. How frustrating this must be. I can't believe that you were able to snag and open slot and you are now being turned away. I don't see the difference of you scheduling the open spot and they scheduling "someone" for that open spot. Both are bodies that are breathing. Utterly makes no sense. I wish you the best.

Most foreign people don't get why this mouring day is important or even who was GWB. For some, this closing day has an impact in their plans, I have a friend in Colombia traveling to a different city for her K1 interview and they told her in the embassy door that they will be rescheduling the appointment due to this.

I would be mad too if I had invested in plane tickets, hotel reservations, and had the agony of the previous hours to the interview just for nothing. But I also understand it's out of everyone's hands...

    It goes both ways:
Stop taking everything personal, he's not disrespecting anyone and it's a legit frustration.
Stop taking everything personal, the world doesn't go around your interview date.

To quote the OP...."I'm honestly so pissed because they told me it could take another two months before I get another date. "   I would be unhappy about that too...I would think those cancelled interviews could be assimilated into the existing schedule over a week or 2........

I did not attend, as I could not take time off of work. He went yesterday and they asked questions about our relationship, my daughter, and some questions about how/where we met etc. They seemed ok that I was not present and approved our visa.

I know some people say its best to go, and that may be true, but financially we thought it best not to spend all the extra money in airfare and car rental only to turn around possibly in 2 weeks to purchase his flight here to the states. You have to decide what is best for the two of you, but I have not seen anyone denied due to their significant other not being present. As long as he is prepared and knows everything he should be fine. Also make sure he knows your phone number by heart as that was one of the questions they asked. I do not even know his number

Best of luck to you in your process!

I guess it depends. When I scheduled for his interview it had me schedule his medical also. I did everything on this website: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/
He was able to go and get his vaccinations and his medical done on the same day. AS far as getting vaccines the day before I am not sure, I cant imagine it would be an issue. My fiance had everything done on the same day, and went back 6 days later and picked up his results and a sealed envelope that he had to take to his interview. Not sure if this helps or not.
