This is heartbreaking.  Seems like a situation that could be easily fixed if they cared to.  I'm so sorry. 

He did attend. It went well. Embassy was empty though not many people. They did say there’s a lot of work load and not many people working somewhat remotely working also. They were understanding of the situation they gave him a letter for getting medical done and gave passport to him and told him to get a new passport and medical and send it to them through courier service.

In Brazil at least the US consulate acts in a "pass-fail" fashion regarding any kind of visa. If they tell you that you are approved, you are approved.
Seems like terrible practice for me the officer changing his mind after retaining the person's passport. That should not be acceptable by any means and should not be considered normal. It does not matter if it is written somewhere in the consulate-embassy or USCIS terms or not. Something being legal does not mean it is moral.
In a philosophical way, I'm really afraid of a society that does not question something like that. It is like admitting that everything the government do is ok just because is the government doing it. We should remember that USA itself was created by people that questioned excessive abuse of power and bureaucracy by the britain government.
So yes, you should complain. Not because you are likely to get a refund (you are not), or because they are going to change their mind (they probably will not). You should complain because it is the right thing to do.

With a lot of visas being suspended, maybe your case will speed up.  CR1s at least have been safe.  It's the uncertainty of it all that drives a person crazy. 

Directly from the RFE requesting evidence of intent to marry, shared by a member: evidence of wedding preparation, ongoing communications, evidence of financial support, communications about wedding, evidence family/friends are aware of the relationship, evidence of subsequent meetings, or any other evidence that might shed light on intent to marry.

Consider recommending that K1s include additional evidence of intent to marry, more than just letters of intent.  This has become a fairly common RFE.

Thank you for taking the time to write all of that and stating your opinions. You assume you know who youre speaking to and who it is that wrote this post based on what you see, that's fine. Let me put it clear that not once have I asked any US Citizen to contact their representatives on my behalf.  This post was for others that are currently in the K1 process under this whole situation with the EO, bans and embassy closure to come together in a way and ask for clarity on the K visas. Apparently not taken good by some.
 
I am aware this is a public forum but apparently asking for kindness is where the line is drawn. I am grateful for veteran members as they help many of us in times of need however  even though they are entitled to do it why be condescending or rude? He in specific, did not go through what we are going through right now and that is why I said.  "This issue does not affect you personally so you wouldn't know or understand exactly what we are going through. Be a little more sympathetic." Empathy, kindness and humbleness doesn't hurt.

We’re K1, but I hear you.  People have no clue what this process is like unless they have been through it.  We first applied Dec. 2017 and were denied.  We’re on our second go-round and we were so close to the visa when embassies closed.  Since then I feel like I obsessively check for any shred of hope out there.  Every time we have an update on our case I get excited thinking we’ll have the visa in a few days...nope.  I find shopping for wedding items or just things we’ll need for his arrival helps me feel like there’s still something in my control.  But my bank account and my sanity will be happy when I am no longer consumed by this process.

I couldn't agree with you more!!! I came to these forums maybe about 2 months ago and asked a question and feel I was treated rudely by a longstanding member here.  The worst part is everyone defended him because of who he is - it doesn't matter that he's being rude, curt or snarky, they just praise him for how much he answers.  I absolutely appreciate that these posters take time out of their own lives to answer questions, but being snarky to people who are worried, frustrated, upset, concerned whatever is uncalled for at any time. I would actually rather not get any answer than get one where someone is rude.  I actually logged off and haven't been back to these forums since because I don't want any part of a community that treats people this way.  I checked back on them today only to see if there was any news about consulates opening up, and saw your post and logged back in just so I could comment and like your post!!!
 
I think the moderators here should be looking at the "tone" that some of the posters are using and remind them that there are real people on the other side of the screen who are just desperately awaiting any information at all.  I think perhaps some of them have forgotten what it was like to be on the waiting end of things (and then throw in a side of craziness and pandemic in there for good measure).  They can say they remember, but I think it may be a little bit like childbirth - you forget how bad it truly was after you've gone through it.
 
If it agitates you so much to see those posts, scroll on by, especially if it means you are going to be snarky and curt with people.  You don't have to answer every single post 🤷‍♀️

That may be so but is there a need for members to "BE POSTING LIKE THIS!!!! " a bit more empathy would go a long way.
 
EDIT:   I understand the reasoning, I do.  You want people to get the correct information and not have multiple topics, but there is a way of doing things and as I said members could do it a little more diplomatically and empathetically, especially the longer standing members who aren't in the same situation they get to see their partner every day and maybe have forgotten how it feels, support is what's needed in this time for all.

I agree and I do this myself, I am checking all available sources, but this is the internet and people see visa journey at their first stop to find this information, its a problem as old as the internet.  Maybe a regulary updated sticky post is the answer, although I would imagine you will still see multiple posts on the same subject, choose any forum online and you will have a similar problem.
 
Well I can only speak for myself and I get my information from as many sources as possible (VJ included) but until I see something official it will always be unconfirmed.

You have to see though that being told to be patient or wait, while I am sure you are giving the same answer you always would have irks a bit, ill be honest I cant help it.   Its like your in a café waiting for your food, you are very very hungry and you have no idea how long its going to be and the guy on the table next to you with an empty plate tells you "No idea how long the food will be just be patient", now that guy may have been as hungry as you and waited as long as you for your food but they are now there with a full belly and rightly or wrongly a lot of people would be irked.  All Im saying and I'm not saying it to you particularly is some of the longer standing members who have already gone though the process could maybe approach their answers a little more diplomatically, tensions are high as such. 
 
I get that and its honestly not an attack on you or anyone, its good this is a forum with so much experience but sometimes I read and wince at the way some replies come across.
 
Maybe there should be a few pinned topics of questions that are repeatedly asked, it wont stop all the topics being started but may cut them down.  Anyway thanks for the response.
 
 

Thing is what's wrong with people asking or complaining about this?  its a visa forum, its a big issue and people are totally in the dark that have been DQed for months.  Sure they might not get an answer, they may be (like myself) just trying to let off steam and complaining about the fact you can go and see the elephants and buy a tshirt made in a sweat shop but no interview.
I don't really see what it matters if there is more than one topic on it, seems to me a lot of the people complaining about it are well past the embassy stage so sure it may be annoying to them to see yet another post asking, but at least console yourself you are with your partner. The people starting these topics are not.... trust me on this it is infinitely more annoying going another day not even knowing if you will be able to see your wife this year, or when.  I would rather read a forum and have to answer 100 identical posts than wait another week to find out my interview date...

I have not tried the Pacifica bedtime lip treatment but will look it up. In terms of vegan favorites ... some that have been discussed on here are the KVD palettes, including the Shade + Light eyeshadow and contour/highlight ones. I also love Milk Makeup, in particular I am a fan of their Kush lip balms (https://www.sephora.com/product/kush-lip-balm-P440645?icid2=products grid:p440645:product) -- I adore the Bubble and Nug colors. They are very moisturizing and give just the slightest color. Oh, and Tarte products I think are all vegan -- Park Avenue Princess is THE perfect bronzer, in my opinion. I like matte when it comes to bronzer (I'm shiny naturally and sometimes I swear you can see me glow from Neptune) and that bronzer delivers matte and is very buildable.

The Pakistan call centers and document delivery are opening June 8th. It originally said May 31st, then changed to closed until further notice, now June 8th.  

There has been some visa activity in Islamabad according to some AP groups my husband and I are in.  This was received by a member a week or so ago.   Others have recieved updates on ceac   (changed to ready or just date chages) but the embassy has not updated their website.  I'm unsure of exactly what the status of the embassy is at this point.
