GIGANTIC SIGH OF RELIEF! Oh.my.Gosh Yay...
19 days after the Combo interview, status for both I-751 and N-400 have FINALLY been updated, now in line for the Oath ceremony. The finish line is getting super close, I'm so stoked :-)
3 years and 8 months since our I-130 was sent, man that feels good!

Sending good vibes to everyone that is still waiting, your turn will come soon!

Actually found the notice on myUSCIS (the N400 only though…),

August 6th it is for the interview! can’t believe it’s getting so close to being done for good, I can almost touch it, so surreal.

I have received a status update this morning, stating that interview for for I-751 and N-400 were scheduled, WOOHOO!
    I-751 NOA: OCT 21 2019
    N-400 NOA: DEC 15 2020

My extension letter expired 4 days ago, so it seems that my call for an info pass appointment might have helped trigger things. Hopefully the interview will happen sooner than later, waiting the letter with great anticipation!

"asking for a friend"  Hmmm, for realz?

Joking aside, as well as cultural traditions aside, this won't look very good in the eye of an immigration officer reviewing the case, to be blunt with you. (see responses above)

Anyway, best of luck to you (and or your friend)

And maybe stop rushing into relationships and spend time, lots of time, getting to know the other person. You had a fiancé trying to arrange her interview in January 2019 but you broke up and you petitioned for another fiancé 5 months later (with whom you were already romantically involved whilst the first one was arranging her embassy interview). Before the second one even got to the interview stage you suspected cheating. You must have suspected this wouldn’t end well.

I know a K-1 only requires you to have met in person once before filing, but that doesn’t mean you have to file after the first visit. As you have seen twice now, short courtships are not working out for you, you need more time. Slow down! What’s the rush? And if these fiancés are pressuring you into rushing through the paperwork, it’s likely the papers they want, not you. The right one will wait.

We did, and there was no issue whatsoever. I’m not even sure we had to disclose my immigration status, just provide SSN and copy of DL. Easy peasy!

    Hi,

You might want to check your dates. If your wife’s GC expires in June 2020 (meaning i suppose it’s not including the extension) your window to apply for I-751 opened 3 months prior, not in December 2019.

if you filed at the right time (before early January 2020), then the extension letter carries until June 2021 (18 months).

Did you receive the NOA after filing?

Hi Folks, my status was changed to "Name was updated" a couple of days ago. At first I freaked out... then did some research and it looks like a "by default" status whenever the case is being looked at. Trying not get my hopes too high, but could this mean approval with no interview soon? I hope I didn't jinx myself by saying this!

Pat&Vince got a reaction from POA in How soon did you find your first job?
Finding a job ended up being a lot easier than I add anticipated. After taking a 5 months break after arriving in this country, I started sending applications on May 10th.
I started as a contractor ($65/hr) on June 4th in a small firm, while I was still interviewing with a larger one.
They made a pretty good offer mid-july and am working with since then (135k a year).
I have a master degree in architecture with 20 years of experience owning a business.

My beloved husband and myself arrived in San Francisco last night, after a wonderful European family vacation. I am excited t announce that I am now a legal alien and a permanent resident of the USA, finally living the married life my husband and myself were waiting for :-)

It's all about the little (and big things).   :-)

My gorgeous husband spent the last two weeks in my country with me and my family, spent two days in Paris then flew together to the US.
We me lost space, bought clothes containers/drawers, took possession of precious space and drawers in the bathroom, got a charging station on my side of the bed...
I was a given a brand new MacBook Pro, we quickly went to AT&T to get me a 415 phone number.
Referring me to a good doctor, a dentist, a barber (we share the same people).
Sharing all the bank stuff (transferring funds form BE to the US) and having my name added (though this takes a little while because of the SSN and GC being requested by the bank).
Sharing access to a bunch of things and just being a team rather than 2 individuals, while keeping our space and time when it's needed.

I couldn't feel better "at home". We're still waiting on some shipped stuff that needs to arrive here and then it'll be complete.
The next step will be finding our next place together, but so far I couldn't be happier about how smoothly things are going. Communication is key!

Filing the I-130f for the CR-1 is quite critical and a very important matter, regardless of how hard or easy your case might be.

I woould strongly suggest to hire a lawyer (that would also be the agent) to make sure everything is filled properly and the correct fees are paid.

This is going to be such an important step in your life, I strongly believe that lawyering up shouldn't even be a question when such matter is at stakes.

Hi there!  I see that we are at the exact same point (or almost) ;-)

My POE was Jan 4th, SSN arrived in 12 days (shockingly good surprise) and still waiting on the physical Green Card.

First few days were about getting a phone number, health insurance linked to my husband's company, etc.

Still have to get some bank stuff fixed... which is surprisingly very slow (you would think that AMEX would be delighted to send you a new CC asap, so you can spend and owe them interests? Apparently not!), and got "a bit" frustrated with the leasing office of the high-rise we live in... expensive service doesn't always mean fast and good service!

Other than that, I studied and passed (first try!) the DL written test. Behind the wheel test is on March 6th. It is so weird having to study and pass that stuff after having driven hundred thousands of miles for years, it's a bit insulting! Hopefully, I'll forget about the bad habits and drive like a fresh and well educated young driver would drive :-)

Life im California is definitely pretty laid-back, quite the change for me... It's also a big change not having a job after 2 decades of working non-stop. Can't say I'm not enjoying myself, but I can already feel the need to get busy again soon (that guilt of sitting at home while my husband is at the office!). At least, I have more time to explore this beautiful city by myself and trying to figure out better the public transportation.

Also, it's quite funny to hear friends and people asking about what my status is... Some seem a bit confused : So, you are American now? Me : Nope, not at least for another 3 years! Or, asking if we have any concerns about the current administration regarding immigration, or apologizing on behalf of America for the current situation :-)

BTW, Is anyone going to get TSA pre-check?

So yeah... next step is getting the updated resume and portfolio together and start the job hunting process, soon!

Welcome everyone in this big country and enjoy being reunited with your spouse, love is all!
